I have gone through plenty of papers and still more and more is coming in on my oak table. I sighed in frustration.

Every document they send to the royal court says one thing that the human they know or knew is missing. Their families went unexpectedly silent, which was even weirder. I know a lot about human emotions. No matter what, they don't easily give up on their families. And it's a matter of a missing person.

In the present, some of the packs around the world live with humans. Many of them already know about our existence but they performed the blood oath. And if someone performs a blood oath with any pack, they are bound not to tell anyone or any kind of information about us. The same thing goes for the pack they are bound to protect them.

But when it comes to me, it's not the same thing, especially when I am their king. I have lived longer than my great-grandparents. People know about ' the royalties ' but many people still don't know where we live or what we look like. After we had gone through the war between humans, vampires and werewolves, my father built this palace inside a huge forest which they wouldn't find easily. And it's better the less they know about us, the less chaotic the situation would get when we have to mingle in between with humans.

But there is a disadvantage we face as supernatural creatures, no matter what. We can't change the way we look. It's different from the way humans look. The more we age, the more we become beautiful or like they are called handsome.

I think I should call the witch I know for some help. There is no way we can beat this, whatever is going on and it's driving me and my people crazy.

" We had better start looking at this matter on our own," Zeus said in my head.

After I told my beta that I would choose my mate, my lycan went on a rampage inside my head and gave me a migraine. But the thing I didn't notice for one day was that he is unusually calm and collected.

" I think that too," I said. I agree with him and I value his opinion that he is wise in court matters.

" We have been delayed already. And things had gone worse than they were," I said, and he agreed with me.

" Your highness," Eden came bursting into my office panting.

" What happened to you? Calm down," I said, raising my eyebrows at him. He had never behaved in this way.

" We have a situation," he said after taking a few long breaths.

" What situation?" I said, leaning towards it. He walked towards me with sweat on his forehead.

" There was an attack on the alpha Williams pack," he said. A low growl vibrates in my chest.

" How? What had happened and who attacked them?" I asked.

" As far as I know, his warriors are well trained and can spare my men," I said.

" His beta called me and asked for our assistant. He said that his alpha was injured during the fight with rogues and some other creatures and he also added that they used wolfsbane," he said.

" Creatures?" I asked him.

" He said they didn't reveal themselves during the fight and only fired them with the bullets that made me wolfsbane," he said.

" If they don't reveal themselves, it is the only thing that means that they are afraid of being exposed and we might know them," I said, and Zeus and Eden both nodded their heads in agreement.

" Let them know that I am coming," I said.

" What?" Eden said, his eyes wide in shock.

" I said I am going there," I repeated my words. I know why he is shocked. I have always handled situations at this palace unless they needed me. I have also said that I won't be going to college because many people know me there, including humans. It will be bothersome if the culprits get to know that I am there. He will be alert and maybe, during my stay there, he won't do anything.

" I heard what you said but you," he stopped before finishing his words.

" I will investigate this matter personally now. And don't let Lia or anyone know that I am going there," I reminded him. Remembering my cousin's brother had come back here so suddenly. His appearance is suspicious to me right now.

I didn't tell them my displeasure with his father. When my father was on the throne, he was always jealous of my father and wanted to take his throne. He had gone too far in executing his plans. My father had to send them away from the palace because they caused so much chaos for his people. And that is the reason I can't trust him like I can trust my brother or Eden. He may have come with some ulterior motives.

" And I will need to meet the witch and ask her for help to find me any clue that can lead me to the person who is causing all this trouble," I said, clenching my jaws.

" Do you think that - that whoever is behind the disappearance of the humans is behind this attack?" Eden asked me.

" I don't think I am certain," I said.

" They want to distract the matter of the college with the attacks that had happened in William's pack," I said, staring at the little crystal ball that was placed on my table. It was given to me by my sister. When she was a little girl, she once visited the local market with my father and when they came back she gave that ball to me, saying I would be able to catch bad people with it when I became the king. Since then, I have kept it with me.

My heart clenched thinking about the people who lost their loved ones at that college and for the pack that was under attack.

" This attack will not stop," Zeus said in my head.

" Why? Don't talk like that. I am already stressed," I said. I know why he said that, but right now I don't have any plan to lose my people anymore.

" I have a strong feeling," Eden said, making me look at him.

" If you think that they are the same person behind the disappearance and the attack, I think he will not stop the attack until he is successful in what he needs. As you said, the attack is to distract us from the situation that is happening in that college. I think he will attack again. If not the same pack, they will attack different packs," he said, pointing out.

" He is right," Zeus agreed with him.

" Eden? Do you think after we come back we should send our few men to their pack to track whatever is happening there and if they can find out about these mysterious creatures," I suggested. He agreed with me.

I got up to inform the witch I knew about my arrival. Eden followed me behind.

" When are they living for college?" I asked. I don't want to let my baby sister know about this thing or she will tell Eliot unknowingly, knowing how pure and kind-hearted she is.

" Tonight," he said.

" Then we will leave after them," I said.

" Ok. I will go and let them know about your arrival," he said, and I nodded at him.

I went to my room to rest a little. I haven't had any since yesterday. I also need to wait for the night when they leave for college.
