CHAPTER 9
Travis awoke to find the curtains drawn back and bright sunshine cutting across the bedroom. He turned to see Jacey wipe sleep from her eyes and sit up with her knees under the blanket.
"Answer it!" she gasped.
Her iPhone chirped and he realised that earlier chirps were probably what had awoken them both. He reached out to the side table on his side of the bed, found the instrument and answered it.
Azaria appeared on the screen. "Listen for there is little time. The closure of The Valley has already begun. The link back to 2012 Earth has been cut and, as far as I can find out only one exit remains open."
"The one through the garage depot?" Travis asked.
