Chapter 10 - Shift Back

Miles Reid POV

" Can you talk to her?" Ben asked me.

" I should " I told him.

I looked at her wolf eyes, tried to make connection to her.

" Hi there" I tried to mind link her. I kept caressing her thick mane.

" H.. Hi... Y.. ou can talk to me? You can talk to me?" she answered me in disbelieve as if I was the first person she had been talked to.

" Yes, can you hear me?" I replied to her made sure she heard me.

" Yes! Yes, I can hear you! O My God, I can talked to someone! "

I can felt that she was happy, cheerful and relieved that she finally can talked to someone. And I was more happy to felt her happyness. I smiled widely feeling how happy she was.

" I'm Miles, what's your name? "I asked her name. I wanted to know what I should called her.

" I'm Ashley.. Ashley Lane "she answered me.

Ashley, I like her name.

" Hi Ashley, how are you? " I asked her.

" I'm... I'm okay I guess. I... I don't know... I'm scare.." she said, I can felt that she was scare, maybe being in a wolf form for a long time for the first time was scary to her.

" It's okay, you are safe now." I told her.

" Mm... Miles.... My twinny say you can help me shift back to my human form... She said... you are my mate?" she said but as if she asked for my confirmation.

" Yes Ashley, I'm your mate. And I will help you shift back. " I told her. I would loved to help her shifted back!

" Will you? " she asked again to made sure that I will help her.

" Yes Ashley, I'll help you." I convinced her. I can feel she was relieved. I can't waited to meet her human.

" Who is twinny?" I asked her.

" Twinny is my wolf. The one you see right now." she explained to me. I see, her wolf name was Twinny.

" Your Twinny is beautiful." I said and gave her a smile. Ashley's wolf was licking my face happily. My wolf was so exciting. I had to put him in the cage not to let him took control of me.

" Thank you" Ashley said. I can feel that she was more comfortable.

" Miles... How I shift back to human?" she asked.

" You want to try now?" I asked her.

" Can I?" she asked with hope.

" Sure, if you want to." I said.

Shifting was easy if you had done it before. But for the first time, you will need guidance from someone who knew you and can mind link you, because the first shifted back needed your concentration, relaxed and could be scary for some people.

" I want to Miles. I' ve been here for I don't know how long." she said exciting.

" Okay, let me get you--" I said as I tried to stand up to get a blanket for her.

" Miles, don't leave me" she said in scary tone. I can feel she trusted me and comfortable with me. And somehow that made me felt so happy.

" Okay Ashley... I won't go anywhere okay? "I soothed her and sat back in the floor.

" Ben, can you get me a blanket? I want to help her shift. " I told Ben who sat not far from me and watched  all the time I mind link Ashley.

" Sure," he said as he walked out of my office and got back only in few minutes with blanket in his arm.

" Thank you. You can leave us now Ben" I told him.

" Yes, Miles" he said as he walked out and closed the door. And I put my attention back to Ashley. I moved and sat down in a long coach and put the blanket in the couch arm rest.

" Come here Twinny." I called her wolf to get closer. And her wolf climbed the couch and sat facing me.

" Come, it's okay. You can lay here." I told her again to layed down in my lap. And her wolf layed down.

I caressed her head to her mane gently with my hand, and she seemed comfortable and put her head on my lap.

" Ashley..." I mind link her.

" Yes, Miles?" she answered me.

" Are you ready to shift now?" I asked her. I can't waited to met her in her human form. 

" Yes Miles! What should I do?" she asked with excitement.

" Just relax and clear your mind." I told her

" O.. Okay. Relax and clear my mind." she repeated.

" Then think about your self. How do you looked like..." I told her.

" Like imagining my self?" she asked me.

" Yes, the key of our first time shift back is, how much do you want to get your self back. To be who you used to be." I told her.

" Okay.." she answered.

" What do you like most from your self Ashley? " I asked her, trying to guided her shift back.

" What I like most?" she asked.

" Yes, anything you like most from your appearance." I explained. I can tell she was thinking.

" I like my eyes... My mom told me, it was beautiful, just like my father eyes." and then I heard her small laugh.

" You have beautiful blue eyes Ashley." I told her. Still caressed her beautiful fur, tried to soothe her and made her relax.

" T.. thank you Miles. "she said. I bet she was blushing if she was in human form. Gosh, I can't wait to see her!

" Okay... You can start by think about your beautiful eyes Ashley, and then think about your other appearance. Your face, your hair, your skin, everything you remember about your self and how much you love your self." I told her.

I didn't hear her said anything. I thinked she understand what I was saying and trying to focus to do what I told her.

I kept silence and waited for few minutes. It took awhile until her wolf started to change.

Her tail and her fur were getting shorter and then subsided, leaving her bare light skin. Her face and her physical figure was changing dramatically to her human form in few minutes. The changing was slow but she got it finally.

She was laying on her side body in a fetal position. I was stunned to look at her human figure for a moment until I realize that I should not looking at her naked skin.

I took the blanket Ben gave me earlier and cover her body. I didn't want her to felt embarrassed to be seen naked to someone she just met.

I pulled her Ash blue hair gently from her face, showing me her diamond face, pointed nose, curly long eyelash and her plump natural pink lips.

Gosh, she was so beautiful! What did I do to deserve a beautiful mate like her?

" Ashley... You are okay now." I said to her, caressing her face in my lap. She opened her blue eyes and looked at me. She looked so weak and her blue eyes look pale. I knew her first shifted back had drained her strength.

" Thank you" she said weakly, almost inaudible.

" Anytime Ashley, anytime." I said looking at the person I'd been waiting for.

" Miles... Jane is here." Ben mind linked me.

" Meet me at the guess room Ben, I'm taking her there." I told Ben.

" Okay Miles." Ben replied.

I wrapped the blanket around her body and then I carried her in my arm, as she laid her head on my shoulder. 

I met Ben and Jane in the guest room. Jane pulled down the duvet and I put her down in the bed. I mind linked Ben to leave the room, as Jane pulled her blanket and covered her bare skin with duvet.

She kept her eyes closed. She was too weak to do anything.

Jane checked on her pulse and her conditions. And held her hand for awhile to gave her more strength with her healing skill.

" How is she?" I asked her worries.

" She is tired. She needs to rest. But she will be okay Alpha Miles " Jane said. " I will stayed for awhile to make sure she is okay."

I relieved that Jane will took care of her personally.

" She is beautiful, isn't she?" Jane suddenly said, breaking me from staring at her.

" Yes, she is" I said. I can felt I blushed, knowing that Jane caught me staring at her.

" Can you asked someone to help clean her and bring some clothes for her?" Jane asked me.

" Oh ya, sure Jane." I said. I almost forgot about that.

I mind linked Rosa, the Den mother of the pack house to sent someone to cleaned her and brought some clothes for her. Just in few minutes, Rosa came with one of the maid.

" Alpha Miles, we are here. " Rosa reported to me.

" Thank you Rosa. Please give whatever she needs and make sure she is comfortable. " I said to Rosà.

" Yes Alpha, don't worry. We will take good care of her." Rosà said. Rosà and the maid walked to Ashley's bed to clean her up.

" I will talked to you later after she feel comfortable Alpha Miles, but for tonight, I will stayed with her." she said, And I just realized that I had to leave them to do the job.

" Okay Jane, we'll talked tomorrow. " I said and then walked out of the room. I wished I could be with her, but I knew I should not. Not now.

I walked in the corridor and found Ben waiting for me.

" How is she Miles?" Ben asked me.

" Jane said she needs rest. She was tired. It had been few days she trap in her wolf's form." I told him.

" Don't worry Miles, she is in good hands. Jane and Rosa with her." Ben tried to soothe me.

" How many days did you keep her here?" I asked him as we walked in the corridor.

" 3" he answered shortly.

" And where did you keep her?" I asked him.

" in... the cell?" he answered hesitately.

I stopped and sighed heavily. He put my mate in the cell? Dirty, cold cell where we usually put rough or our prisoner.

" I'm sorry Miles, I didn't know if she is your mate, our Luna. " he said apologize.

I knew it was not his fault. He or I didn't know if she was my mate. It was the usual procedure we would do to any intruder. Especially a no-mad. No-mad can be a rough or danger.

I wished I would came home early to find her, and not make her stayef in the cell. I felt guilty make her suffer.

" I don't blame you Ben, you don't know." I said and continued walking down the stairs to my office. Ben followed me to my office.

" This is belongs to her, Miles. Sam took it from her, just to make sure we can sense her if she tried to escape." Ben gave me a necklace with a resin pendant smells like rosemary and eucalyptus.

Usually this kind of pendant used to camouflaged scent as suppressant. Why she need to dissemble her scent? Was she in danger or someone looking for her?

I decided to keep the pendant and will asked about it later when she felt better.
