Chapter 11 - The Chicken Soup

Ashley Lane POV

I woke up straight and looked around. Where am I? I knew I was in a room. The room was big, comfort and modern, with big bed, comfortable couch in the side, beautiful curtain and big window in the right side of the bed, where I could see a terrace outside the window. But Noone with me.

How did I get here?

I remembered I was in a wolf before. I scanned my whole body, and realized I was in my human form!

I was back! I was back in my own body!

" Good morning Ashley." I heard someone voice I knew. I turned around and saw Jane opened the room door.

" Jane! Thank God you are here!" I said to her. I forgot to greet her, because of my excitement.

" You are not going to believe what happen Jane" I said. I hugged her as soon as she sat in my bed. I was so happy to see her. To met someone that I know, and to held other person as human.

" You are fine now, Ashley." She said, rubbing my hair.

" I was a wolf Jane! And I don't know how to shift back. " I told her. She nodded and broke our hug.

" We try to find you. Twinny and I... But we get caught by a werewolf pack." I continued to tell her my story.

" They put me in jail, but... but... they told me they will called you for me. But before I met you, there's a man... Miles... Yes, his name is Miles, he help me to shift back! And.... And now I'm a human again! " I kept told her what happen to me.

I was so glad that I had my human form back.

" Yes, I know that Ashley. I've been here with you all night" she said and smiled. " how are you right now? "

" I'm fine now. Thank you. Just a little bit tired." I said.

Miles? Where is he? And where am I? 

" You are in River Moon Pack Ashley" Jane said as if she can read my mind.

" Where is... Miles? H.. he live here right?" I asked her. I wasn't sure who was Miles and where did he come from, but I was glad I met him here in this Pack.

" He will be here soon Ashley. Maybe later, because you need some rest." Jane said.

I hoped I can see him again. I wanted to say thank you for helping me.

I didn't know him, but twinny said he was our mate. And he did said we were mate. I was not sure what a mate really means in werewolf world, but I thinked it must be something really important.

He helped me shift back and he can talked to me in my head while anyone else can't. I felt comfortable and safe when he was around. Just by seeing him or sensing his scent make me calm and safe.

I remembered how he rubbed and caressed Twinny's fur yesterday. It felt like he caressed my skin. I didn't know how, but I felt some spark in me. He didn't even touch my skin! How that even possible?!

" Ashley, do you need anything? Do you want to go to bathroom?" Jane asked me.

" Yes Jane. Where is the bathroom?" I asked her. I assumed it was one of the door in the wall side. This kind of big room should have an ensuit.

" It's right there." Joan pointing to one of the door. I nodded.

I opened up my duvet and put down my legs. But I felt shaking, I didn't know why.

" Can you move your legs?" Jane asked me.

" I try." I said. I moved my legs slowly to the floor, And tried to stand up. But I felt so weak and can't even stand right on my own feet! What was wrong with me?

" You still need some rest and need time to recover. Let me help you." Jane said as she put my arm in her shoulder and helped me walked to the bathroom.

We finally made to the bathroom and she left me to do my morning stuff. Took awhile until I finished, but I felt better and fresher.

" mmm... Jane? " I called her as I tried to walked back to the bathroom door. The bathroom door opened and Jane helped me walked back to my bed.

And then I heard knock on the door. And Jane answered with " Come in".

The door opened and Miles stood in front of the door. He Looked handsome with his white shirt sleeve rolled and grey paired of pants. I knew he just took a shower, because his hair was still wet and he smelled really good.

He smiled wide and walked to us.

" Let me help you" he said as he gave sign to Jane to let me go. And then he carry me to my bed. I was surprised and reflectly hold his neck, and make our face close to each other. I could feel his hard muscle under his shirt and his mint and woody scent lingered in my nose.

I knew I was blushed because I felt my face getting warm, but I do like he carried me like that. Held me close to him.

Gosh why did I feel like that? He just helped me to my bed, and I just met this guy!

He put me gently on my bed and helped to put the pillow on the bed headboard to make me comfortable with my back.

" How do you feel today?" He asked me as he sat in the side of the bed, not far from me.

" Much better. Thank you " I said " and Thank you for helping me yesterday."

" It's nothing. I'm glad I can help." he answered.

" And how about you? How are you?" I asked him, I knew he looked okay, but just to be polite.

" Me? Oh, I'm really good." he answered " and how is Twinny inside there?" he asked me.

" Twinny? I haven't talked to her, but I think she is okay. Not complaining. She had her time already " I said a bit joking.

And he give small laugh.

" I'm going to check on Rosa for awhile" Jane said.

" Sure, Jane. Thank you." he answered. And then Jane left us.

" Ashley, I want to apologize for putting you in the cell few day ago." He said apologizing. I saw he felt guilty for putting me in jail.

I didn't like to be put in a cell, but he didn't know that, and he didn't even meet me. So I thinked it wasn't  his fault. I trespassed their territory without permission.

" No Miles, it's not your fault. I mean I don't like being in jail, but it's my mistake for tresspass your village without asking permission. It's your people right to threat me like that. I cant even communicate to tell you what happen." I told him, not to felt guilty about putting me in jail.

" But I feel bad for you. Is there anything I can do to paid back? " he asked me.

" You don't need to Miles. You help me a lot. " I said.

" No, I'm insist. How about diner with me after you recovered?" he said.

Diner with him? Yes, of course I wanted to.

" I'd love to" I answered him.

" It's a deal than. I promise you won't regret it." he said smiling wide.

" Okay... I'll look forward to. " I said and smiled to him.

" So, that was your first shift to a wolf ? " he asked about what happen to me.

" Yes... I never thought I would. I mean I just know that I'm... A werewolf." I answered.

I wondered how long have I been inside Twinny?

" mmm... What date is today?" I asked him.

" It's 23rd now. "He said and I gasped.

23? I remembered I have my race on 14, and I turned to wolf on 15, that mean I'd been inside Twinny's for 8 days?

" What's a matter? " he asked curiously.

" Nothing... It just that I've been in my wolf for 8 days.. "I said without trying to hide my surprise.

" Ya, that's along periods of time. "he said," usually we only shift for hours at most. That's must be scare you alot"

" I was. I mean everything is new to me. Nobody tell me that I would be like that. I never thought that a werewolf is actually real until now." I said. And then I saw that Miles was a bit shocked with my statement. I knew that I just said something wrong. Miles is a werewolf, I didn't want him to take it wrong.

" I'm sorry, not that I said it's a bad things. It just that... I have no idea at all. No one told me before. "I said trying to correcting my statement earlier.

" It's okay Ashley. I understand. I know how you feel. " he said holding my hand. And than it happened again, the spark came from his hand, touching my skin. I reflectly looked at his black bold eyes. And I thinked he felt it too, because he was looking at me as well.

I didn't know how long we stared at each other, but knocked on the door broke our contact.

" Yes?" he responded to who ever it was on the door.

" It's me Rosa." a women answered from outside the door.

" Yes, come in Rosa." Miles said to the woman.

And then the door opened and walked in 2 women. The first was one a bit older about 50 years old, and the other one was about 30 years old.

They brough a tray with a bowl, a glass of milk and some thing smell like baking on a plate. I can smelled something delicious with butter and cheese on it. That smelled so good!

Ooh God, I'm dying with human food! And I licked my lips for that. Miles saw it and he smiled in amused.

Gosh, I was so embarrassed.

" It's fine. It does smell good" he said as if he can read my mind.

" Ashley, this is Rosa, she is the Den mother in this pack. If you need anything, you can always asked for her help." he said introduce me with the older women named Rosa. I had no idea what Den Mother job was, but I was glad she brought me those smelling good food.

" Nice to meet you Rosa. " I greeted her and offered her my hand, and she shook it.

" It's my pleasure too meet you Luna." she said.

" No, not Luna. My name is Ashley. You can call me Ashley or just Ash" I said.

Rosa looked at Miles but Miles didn't say anything but nodded . Did she ask for Miles approval?

" Yes, Ashley, of course." Rosa said and smiled to me.

" I have to go now Ashley. Enjoy your breakfast and get some rest. We will talked again later. " He said holding my hand and rubbing my back palm.

" O.. okay Miles." I said. I was disappointed that he had to leave. I liked when he was around.

" Wait Miles... How can I find you? Do you live here?" I asked him when he was about to stood up.

" Yes, I lived here Ashley." he said, but I can see he was trying to hold his smiled. What was so funny? Did I ask a wrong question?

" Matter of fact, my room just next to this room" he added.

That was great! He lived here and his room just next to mine!

" but... You can just call me in your mind, and I'll be here. Or if you just want to talk" he said.

Can I do that? I remembered we were talked in our mind last night. Just like twinny and I. I don't know how it was possible, to talked like that with different person outside our head. Was that what Twinny said, mind link? Miles and I had that?

" Okay Miles" I answered finally.

I still wanted to talk to him, but Rosa and the other woman wait for us to end our conversation. Plus I was starving and dying to eat decent food.

" I'll see you later Ashley," he said before he walked to the door.

I watched him walked to the door and then turned back and smiled at me.

Gosh, now he caught me staring at him! What was wrong with you Ashley?!

" Ashley, look what we have for you." Rosà said as she opened the lid and showed me a delicious soup, and it smelled amazing.

" Rosa, it looks delicious." I said gulped down my saliva.

" It smell good Isnt it?" She said as she took a half spoon of the soup and fed me. It was a chicken soup, a very tender one, and it tasted amazing! The soup was still warm, and it felt good in my stomach.

" mmmm..... Rosa, it's so delicious! Did you cook this? " I asked her.

" Yes, you like it? I make it special for you.." she said with her loving eyes looking at me.

" Rosa, that's very kind of you... And yes, I love it!" I said sincere. She had no idea, how I wished to have human food after being inside my wolf for days.

" I think I can eat by my self Rosa, I don't want to bother you." I said didn't want to bother her by feeding me.

" It's alright Ashley. I want to." She said as she fed me another spoon. And I took every spoon she gave me.

She gave me a nurturing attitude, like I was her own daughter.

She remind me of my mom. My super caring and protective mother. How was she ? Was she looking for me and knew that I safe?

Suddenly I felt sad. I missed my mom. I missed Sean, my brother. They must be worried about me.

" Ashley, what's wrong?" suddenly I heard Miles voice in my head.

" Miles, is that you?" I asked to make sure it was him.

" Yes Ashley. It's me. Why are you sad?" he asked me.

How did he know that I was sad?

" Yes Ashley, I know you are sad, because I can feel you. "Miles told me.

Seriously? He can feel me? Oh, s**t!!

And then I hear him laughing.

" It's totally fine Ashley. It call bond, it happen with mates. " he said. So, because he is my mate, then he can feel what I feel? I bond to him and the other wise?

" And you can feel mine as well, Ashley. It takes time, but eventually you' ll get to that point. " he explained.

" Are you okay Ashley? Something wrong with the food?" suddenly Rosa asked me. Maybe I was zoned out while talking with Miles.

" No, the food is great Rosa. It just..."

" You mind-link" Rosà said.

" What?" I asked her. How did she know that?

" Mind-link. It's what you do. Talking with someone else in your head." she explained as she fed me another soup. And I smiled at her.

" So, what make you sad? Something bad happen?" Miles asked me again.

" Nothing wrong miles... It just that... I remember my mom. She...I.. I haven't tell her that I'm okay... She must be worry.." I said. And I didn't realize that my tears going down.

" Ashley... Don't cry... We' ll tell your mother that you are okay, but I will have to check few things first before you can call your mom, okay? " he said. How did he know that I was crying? Did he feel me that strong? even a single tear come down from my brimming eye?

" Ashley? " he called me again waiting for my responsed.

" Yes, Miles. " I answered him.

Rosa gave me tissue to wiped my tears. I took the tissue and wiped it.

" Okay Ashley, stop crying okay? I don't want you to be sad." he said.

" Ya, okay." I answered.

" I'll meet you in few hours Ashley. If you need anything you can call me or talk to Rosa, okay?" He said

" Okay Miles, thank you." I answered him

" Bye Ashley."

" Bye Miles."

" Is everything okay?" Rosa asked me.

I nodded. And she smiled.

And then she gave me a small plate of cheesecake.

" Eat this, it will make you cheer up" she said as she caressed my cheek and smiled. 

" Thank you." I said as I took the plate and started to cut the cake with my spoon and ate it.

She was right , the cake was so delicious, made me forget my sadness.

It took few minutes to finished the cake and then Rosa gave me a glass of milk. I was so full. 

And then Rosa and Martha, the other woman, prepared for my bath, and helped me took warm bath with bubbles and flower essence. Brushed my back and washed my hair.

It was so refreshing and helped me to relax. And then they helped me to put on a simple white dress and brushed my hair.

I asked them to help me sat on the couch instead of taking me to my bed.

And then Jane came to my room again after I finished my breakfast and cleaned up.

" Feeling better?" Jane asked me.

" Yes, thank you to Rosa and Martha, for their help and delicious food." I said, smiling at them. I felt a lot better now. I should recovered soon if they treat me like this everyday. And I was so grateful found these people.

" It was nothing. I'm glad I can help you. Get well soon my dear. " Rosa said as she held on my hand before she excused her self and Martha.
