One's footsteps did not hamper and make noise to the ears. The man strode on looking as calm as ever, maintaining his flat face, it didn't even appear that he was in a really bad mood at the moment. Two things came at once. Not yet done with his ex-girlfriend, he already had to deal with a woman who could trap him at any time.
He gave a knock on the towering door. The person in the room already knew who was coming from the code given by his big boss and invited the man outside to enter.
He took another step towards the boss's desk and bowed his head in greeting.
"Forgive me, sir, for coming late," he said.
Anderson, who had been waiting for Alex's arrival, looked closely at his assistant as he leaned back in his oversized chair and tapped the pen in his hand on the table.
"Where have you been? It's unusual like this," Anderson asked with a probing look.
Alex, who was still standing with his head down, didn't dare to look at his boss.
"I'm sorry, sir. I was very drunk last night," he replied still in the same position.
"What's the matter that made you lose control like that?" asked Anderson with suspicious expectation.
It was not without reason that Anderson said that because he had known Alex for a long time. The few years the man had worked for him, at least he knew what habits Alex often had.
"I'm sorry, sir. There was a little problem in my matters," replied Alex who was still in the same position, continuing to repeat the word sorry for his young master.
Anderson raised one eyebrow and sharpened his gaze on Alex.
"I don't think it's a family matter because I know you and your parents are fine. Does this have anything to do with your girlfriend Giulia?" Anderson asked at the end of his sentence.
The man also knew that Alex had a girlfriend, but he never interfered. Alex himself asked Anderson not to disturb his girlfriend because Alex wanted to give Giulia some privacy. Alex didn't want Anderson to make the woman who had betrayed him feel uncomfortable while still in a relationship with him.
Alex raised his head in reply to the gaze given by his young master.
"No, sir," he replied.
"If you need my help just tell me, I'll be happy to help you. Just tell me, who tried to hurt you?" asked Anderson with a serious face. He didn't want his men to have their dignity trampled on by others. Everyone who worked for him was his responsibility to protect and keep them safe.
"No, sir. You don't have to worry, I can take care of myself. Please forgive me for today. I promise not to do it again," Alex replied firmly.
He didn't want Anderson interfering in his personal life because he was sure he could handle everything. Especially with only Giulia and the woman's new lover.
"Okay then, but you have to remember. If something heavy is bothering you, just say it. Don't feel bad about asking for my help," Anderson said again as he moved his body forward.
"Yes, sir," Alex replied briefly.
"There's one thing I want to ask you," Anderson said as he had promised his wife before he left for the office, that he would ask Alex for help if Ciara was still unreachable.
"Just tell me, sir," Alex replied. The man didn't want to change his facial reaction one bit, keeping a straight face no matter what. For Alex, it was very difficult to pull the corners of his lips.
"Please find Ciara's whereabouts because Yesa hasn't been able to contact her since last night, after the last time Ciara said that she was having problems with her boyfriend," Anderson said and managed to make Alex a little surprised because he didn't expect the task given by the boss.
In her heart, Alex continued to grumble. How could she look for Ciara's whereabouts when she wanted to avoid her, fearing that she might have evil plans for her?
Of course, Mrs. Yesa can't contact that damn woman because last night, I don't know what she did to me, Alex said in his heart.
Damn, why do I have to meet her again, Alex thought again.
Alex was furious when she heard Ciara's name again.
No wonder she made me the object of her lust last night because she had just been dumped by her boyfriend. What a slutty woman, doing everything she can to satisfy her! Alex said again, thinking all the bad things about Ciara.
In a different place. Ciara, who had arrived at her residence, immediately slammed her bag down, due to the annoyance that still surrounded her.
The woman realized then immediately took the flat object that was still stored in the bag and then, charged it because she wanted to give news to her best friend, that she was fine. Ciara was sure that Yesa was worried about her.
"Yesterday was a very unlucky day for me! How could I have to deal with two bastards at once?" Ciara said as she dropped her butt on the sofa in her room.
Ciara chuckled.
"Damn Rudolf! He dumped me so easily, plus he said I never satisfied him, so what was our game all this time?" the woman said as she monologued with her gaze straight ahead.
"You'll see! I will not remain silent. I will return this heartache to both of them." Ciara said again with a sharp gaze.
Not long after, the woman let go of her hands rested her head on the back of the sofa, and exhaled repeatedly.
"Ciara, do you still want to go back to Rudolf, after the betrayal and humiliation he did to you last night?" she asked herself while staring at the ceiling of her room.
She shook her head.
"No! I don't want to go back to him! Rudolf may betray me again. It's too low of a price for me to go back into that ignorant man's arms!”
Ciara answered the question she had just asked herself.
She raised her head and straightened her seat.
"I have to prove to Rudolf that I can live without him," she said.
However, her face suddenly turned sad, remembering something.
"But how can I prove it? I don't have a steady job, and I've always relied on him for money. Do I have to find another man to support me like Rudolf did yesterday?" Ciara said again.
The poor woman who was no longer considered by her parents thought that she had to find a new man who could provide for her because if she only relied on her job, then she could not easily show Rudolf that she could live without him.
Because of the dizziness of thinking about last night's events, Ciara forgot that her purpose in returning home was to contact her best friend to let her know if she was currently okay.
The woman's hand reached for the flat object lying on the table beside her then pressed the power on button to activate her smart object. After Ciara activated her cellular data, it was true that there were so many messages and missed calls from Yesa and Ciara was certain that the messages contained concerns from her best friend. Without thinking anymore, Ciara tried to press the phone-shaped image. Sure enough, after only two calls, there was an answer from the other side.
"Hello, Ciara. Where have you been? Are you okay? Why can't the phone number be reached? Why are you only calling me now? Don't you know that I'm very worried about you?" she asked without pause.
"Which question should I answer first?" Ciara asked back as she was confused by Yesa's many questions.
"You, quickly tell me where you're from! Why did you just call me...,
"Stop!" said Ciara who immediately cut off Yesa's question because she knew that her best friend would repeat the same question.
"Tell me!" ordered Yesa who sounded very impatient.
Ciara finally told the story of last night, where she had just taught Rudolf a lesson and also the man's new girlfriend. Ciara told them everything, how she had beaten Rudolf and humiliated the new couple in front of the other hotel guests.
Yesa, who was listening from behind, was furious that her best friend was betrayed and insulted so painfully by Rudolf. Even though Yesa knew how Ciara had treated Rudolf all this time, she did not even have the slightest intention of betraying him.
"Should I ask for Anderson's help to teach that man a lesson?" she asked, after hearing a heavy sigh from her best friend on the other side.
Ciara immediately responded to her best friend's words. "No! There's no need! I don't want to lower my self-esteem just because of that guy. Just let him have fun with his new girlfriend. I'm pretty sure Zell will feel the same way I do, being dumped by Rudolf just after he's found another new lover," Ciara replied, sounding suddenly at peace with her heart.
Yesa frowned after hearing Ciara's answer.
"But he already hurt you like that Cia," said Yesa again who could not accept that her best friend was treated like that by a shameless and ungrateful man like Rudolf.
"You don't have to worry Yesa, I'm fine. If I avenge this hurt, it will show that I love him very much and it will become a subject of ridicule for both of them. Do you want me to be the butt of their jokes?" Ciara replied as she asked and pursed her lips.
"Of course not. If that happens, then I won't stay silent and ask Anderson to break his neck. How dare he insult my best friend," said Yesa with a pouty face. Unfortunately, Ciara could not see that.
"Yes, that's it then. I'm charging my phone, I'll call you later," Ciara said before ending the call between the two of them.
"Alright. Stay careful and if there's anything suspicious, let me know immediately!" replied Yesa.
"Yeah, you take it easy," Ciara said.
The call ended. The woman put down her flat object and stood up, stepping onto her bed. She immediately lay down and fell asleep. She still felt very sleepy, even Ciara felt that her body felt heavy, maybe it could be due to the weight of Alex's considerable body during the hot scene last night.
Anderson furrowed his eyebrows when he saw Alex who was silent and did not respond to the orders he gave.
Anderson looked at Alex's face for a long time, but it looked like his personal assistant was daydreaming.
Looks like Alex's problems are tough, Anderson thought.
"What are you thinking Alex? What's the matter with you?" asked Anderson and managed to break Alex's reverie.
The man standing in front of Anderson shook his head.
"No, sir. I was just listening to the orders you gave me," Alex replied sounding completely unreasonable, even though Anderson had long stopped his speech.
Anderson chuckled as he shook his head.
"You think I've known you for a few days? You've worked for me for years so I know what's going on with you," Anderson said as he leaned back and chuckled at Alex who was not good at lying.
Knowing that he was currently the subject of ridicule from his boss, Alex quickly answered so as not to continue to see Anderson's laugh.
Alex remained where he was, as if reluctant to search for Ciara's whereabouts. The man confirmed that Ciara was still at the hotel they had stayed at last night.
"Alex."
The call managed to take the man who worked as the head of the bodyguard by surprise.
