Chapter 13

1098 Words
Once the gorgeous male specimen named Nat had left Sergio turned towards his sister and said,” Babe that was too despo even for you!!! What were you exactly thinking? I mean, were you even thinking?” “Nope…not thinking. I don’t know what happened to me. Not even with Doris had I ever done something like this. God I am such a b***h,” said Cassandra as she looked towards the waves again. “You are not a b***h. You are anything far from a b***h my sweet little sister, and he was like that handsome only that I thought you would probably have jumped on him if I was not here. It would not have been too bad but still then again, that is not your type,” said Sergio as he pulled out a bottle of water and gave her one. “SO what is my type? I mean, I did not know that you had pegged me as a type,” said Cassandra as she opened the bottle and drank the water. Her skin was feeling hot still, who knew that just looking at a man so handsome would be able to cause such a tandem??? “Everyone has a type Cass. I mean, almost everyone has stereotyped themselves into choosing a particular type of partner. I mean, like you have a tendency to choose men who are safe and make you feel boring and sound. Probably because you think that if you choose someone hot and handsome like that hottie there then you would not be able to control yourself or your heart and then inadvertently it will be crushed. But this time you found that choices, whatever you might make might always have some consequences,” said Sergio as he smiled at her. “When did you get so much wise Serge?” asked Cassandra as she realized that her brother was telling the right thing. “I was always wise like this Cass. I might not be the brainiac of the family like you and I might not be that good at understanding all the research stuff but that does not mean that I cannot understand the simple actions and functions of life,” said Sergio as suddenly a mobile started ringing in a shrill voice. Cass looked hither and thither and then found her bag which was half-submerged in the sand. She looked at her brother apologetically who rolled his eyes and said,” Go on take the call.” She took out the mobile from her purse and then found that it was Robert Dastoviwich. Why on earth was he calling on a weekend? “Hello?” she received the call and laid back on the towel. “Hi there sexy lady!! What are you doing?” asked Robert from the other end of the phone and a scowl appeared on Cassandra’s face immediately. “Robert, why are you calling on a weekend?” she asked in a very rude tone and Sergio turned towards her in surprise. His sister was usually one of the most pleasant and bubbly and best behaved people that he had ever encountered that too because might be she was a psychologist. So if she was angry, that could mean only one thing that this Robert fella must have done something very very unfortunate to be in her bad books. “Isn’t that what friends do? I mean, call and talk to each other when they are free and when they are on weekends might be catch up over a few drinks?” asked Robert as a light suggestion when Cassandra stopped herself from growling at him. “Look Robert! I shall make things very clear….very clear indeed.. You are not my friend, so don’t try to act like one. And you have given me an offer whose details I am yet to be aware of and until I know the full story I am not agreeing to anything at all. That makes far less inclined to be colleagues as well in the present scenario. Now since none of those two things are happening in the present why don’t you really tell me what is it that you have called for? And you are so interested in putting a clinch in my day?” asked Cassandra in a vile tone. “You really hate my guts, don’t you?” asked Robert with a light chuckle. There were two types of people in the world who could deal so well with such rudeness and anger. One was if they were saints and they had forgotten and forgiven all that had happened in the past but that did not apply to him since he was the perpetrator in this case. And the second type were the people who were absolute double faced bastards who had no sense of loyalty or integrity at all. Now all that Cass had to do was to decide in which category did he fall. “You have not given me any specific reason not to hate your guts Robert,” replied Cassandra as she seethed in anger. She did not know why but there was something in his voice which made her rile her up just like that. “I might, if you give me a chance to. But it seems you are too angry just to even talk to me properly Cass,” said Robert and his voice was somber this time. “To be honest Robert, I was having a perfectly good and rocking day until you called me up. So give me one good reason that why have you done that or I might not even receive your call the next time,” said Cassandra as Sergio passed her the bottle of water again and mouthed at her,” CALM DOWN!!” “Actually I wanted to meet you up for drinks or dinner or what is suitable for you, at any place you consider it necessary to discuss the offer with you. I have spoken to the Board of Directors and we have an offer which is negotiable to some extent as well. And wanted to discuss that with you, just that,” said Robert in a conciliatory tone. “You should have started with that,’ said Cassandra in a grim voice. Then she added,” I am gonna decide on a place and then I shall text you the time and place.” And she hung up the call.
