The burning adventure

Damien's point of view Lilly fell asleep quickly tonight. I'm proud of her. She cared for everyone during the attacks and seamlessly stepped into the role of Luna. While others may panic and rely on someone else, Lilly naturally comforts and cares for those around her. Some Lunas could benefit from etiquette classes, but Lilly seems to possess these qualities instinctively. Levi and I fought the rogues together as a cohesive team. My top priority was ensuring Levi's safety, as Lilly, his mate, would undoubtedly be devastated if anything happened to him. Additionally, having extra assistance in the battle was greatly appreciated. Levi and Alpha Leon's wolves possess alpha strength and size, but I, being of royal blood through my mom's side, reigns as the largest among us. Lilly peacefully slept on my chest, with Levi's arm securely wrapped around her. The simple act of lying beside her brought me immense comfort. Our mate bond only deepened my longing for her. Initially, I had contemplated rejecting Levi's presence in our life, but now, I found solace in the idea of having an additional person to love and protect her. I couldn't help but notice that I wasn't just sharing her love. Instead, it was she who would be receiving more from Levi. As I gently stroked her hair, I buried my face in her neck, inhaling the captivating scent of cherry vanilla that naturally emanated from her as I drifted off to sleep. Levi’s point of view I woke up to find myself without my beloved mate, Lilly. It seemed that our future Luna must have managed to slip away unnoticed while we were lost in slumber. Worried and filled with a sense of urgency, I shook Damien awake. "Where is Lilly?" I asked, my voice filled with concern and longing. "I'm not sure," he replied, rubbing his eyes and patting the space on the bed where Lilly should have been, a mixture of confusion and longing in his gaze. As the scent of burning reached our noses, Damien and I jolted out of bed and rushed out of the bedroom in a panic. To our surprise, Lilly stood before the stove, desperately attempting to extinguish the flames that danced atop a pot she had forgotten on the burner. "Get her out of here now," Damien growled, his voice filled with concern and frustration. Reacting swiftly, I grabbed Lilly by the arm and guided her outside, away from the dangerous situation. Meanwhile, Damien swiftly grabbed the nearest fire extinguisher and skillfully put out the fiery blaze that threatened to consume the cottage. "What the hell were you thinking?" I exclaimed, a mix of anger, annoyance, and concern evident in my voice. "I'm sorry, I was just trying to make breakfast," Lilly replied, her voice trembling with tears. I hugged her tightly, planting gentle kisses on her head. "You scared me so much, Lilly. I woke up, and you were gone. And then I found you amidst a blazing fire. Are you hurt?" I asked, my hands instinctively checking her body for any signs of injury. "No, I think I just left it on for too long. I'm so sorry," Lilly replied, tears streaming down her face. "Is she okay?" Damien asked, stepping forward and enveloping Lilly in his arms. "She's fine," I reassured him. "Isn't your dad a chef?" I questioned Lilly. "Yeah, he is. I've tried to learn how to cook, but I guess I'm just not cut out for it," Lilly admitted, burying her face into Damien's chest for solace. "It's alright, and you don't have to learn or experiment anymore. From now on, I'll take care of the cooking," I declared, determined to prevent future accidents. "I'll make sure to replace the stove and cabinets above it. No more cooking for you, Lilly," Damien said, gently holding her head. We reentered the kitchen to assess the extent of the damage. Thankfully, it wasn't as severe as we initially feared. The pot was burnt, and the stovetop and a few cabinets were affected. "What are we going to have for breakfast?" Lilly asked softly, her head hung low in embarrassment. "Thank you for attempting to cook for us. It was a thoughtful gesture, even if it almost set the place on fire," I replied with a chuckle. "Don't worry, Lilly. I've arranged for someone from the pack house to bring us breakfast. Steve makes a fantastic spread. You're still loved, regardless," Damien assured her, planting a tender kiss on her head. "I should tidy up this place," Lilly suggested. "Nope, as the future Luna, you need to learn to let others care for you," I replied. "He's right. Omegas practically run this pack, and it's important not to give off the impression that you're too good for their assistance. They have their way of doing things and take great pride in their work," Damien added, in agreement.
