The face of the regent as he descended the stairs overshadowed the three princes like a veil covering their faces.
The moment when the regent in his black suit, tugging on his watch as his eyebrows raised almost to an invisible inch along with the dropping jaws on the floor was nothing short of a movie scene with unlimited production cost.
As a face con, Primrose's attention was successfully diverted from everything else. She even forgot what kind of world she was in. That face was worth leaving her human world for, Primrose thought for a second.
It was important to note that right at that moment Primrose was blissfully unaware that the high level beautiful face and thin pink lips were hiding sharpness like a thousand blades under it's facade.
The hot water started to turn cold and Primrose was brought back from the memory with a jolt.
Soft steam gathered in the small shower. Primrose wiped her body and changed into a night suit before switching off the lights and grabbing her phone. With excitement building up, she unlocked it.
Despite being thoroughly involved in marriage and royal family, Primrose didn't forget her goal of leaving this world. She couldn't care less about the people here and loved her family to the end of the world.
It was proving to be quite a task to figure out a way back. Primrose was naturally unaware of the world and her first stop was to join the public library with a yearly membership to gather more knowledge.
It had been more than two months since she started going there and managed to read about one third of the books there were about supernatural topics. There were quite a lot of them, considering it was a supernatural work and it was their rightful history and not just fiction.
Primrose wasn't able to downplay the excitement when she started reading them. The fact that the dragon clans were real, the vampire lineage was very much existing and the werewolves surrounded her everywhere was daunting but also extremely exciting.
As an idle with not much to do, Primrose's would spent a huge chunk of her day reading books. She wasn't allowed to bring the books home as they were important ones, she took pictures of them secretly and read them at home in hopes of finding something related to her own situation.
So far, months passed but nothing of that sort happened. She was still stuck on world history. Most of them being an excessively large amount of sadness eluding from the pages about the unfortunate extinction of the dragon bloodline.
The phone screen lit up the soft ridges of her nose and lips. Her honey color eyes appeared lighter under the harmful rays of the phone but she kept bringing it closer in order to read the mysterious text written in English that challenged her skills.
It was still about dragons and the unfortunate end of their majesty.
Primrose was a smart student in college with the best grades in her class. It didn't take long for her to summarise the entire history of dragons and the fateful ending of their lineage after reading the twelfth book on this topic.
Several hundreds of years ago the dragon blood still unified the unified world. As the superior supernatural being, they instilled fear in the hearts of others like no one else.
As rulers, they were good and bad. And the bad being most of the part, according to historians. A curse ended their bloodline once and for all, hence giving rise to the books in history which particularly loved the topic.
Primrose rolled her eyes at the bit of information and threw the phone aside. This would have been heaven if she were a dragon enthusiastic.
Unfortunately, her interest in dragons was comparable to a man's interest in understanding women. Nearly negligible.
The news of her unexpected marriage was bound to shock the world. The first victim were parents and the second one came breaking her door early in the morning with a scream like various chickens being tortured all at once.
Primrose found waking up in the morning as bad as being physically being tortured in a dark cold dungeon. Unless it was a natural rise in the mornings.
The booming arrival of Helena stepped on her bottom line.
Primrose got up like a ghost, opened the door and without looking properly, pushed her palm forward and hit Helena square on the face like a Tai chi master cracking a brick.
By the time Helena recovered, the door was shut with a bang and locked from the inside. The sound of the door locking was particularly conspicuous in the silent hallway.
These days, the Santiago family saw a different face of Primrose. Not only was she dropping bombs left and right, she also didn't lower her eyes in shame anymore.
Primrose rose up naturally after the disturbance was gone. She removed the earplugs, got dressed for the day in festive appropriate clothes and decided to greet everyone with a smile like blooming roses yet again.
"Primrose!!!" Helena's cries tore through the sky as soon as she descended the stairs.
Primrose raised an eyebrow, asking, "Are you a fan?"
Helena was taken aback and so were Lily and Jacob, the parents were who currently consoling their younger daughter with everything in their power.
"Only fans scream like that when they see their idol." With both arms crossed over her noticable chest, she walked like a cat in her high heels towards Helen.
The demeanor was so impressive that Helena instinctively backed away from her approached.
The smile on her face widen, that's the reaction she wanted. She looked down at the shorter sister with the dominance of the older sibling.
"It's either that or," Primrose whispered, "are you angry and want to do something to me?"
Helena couldn't breathe in the closet proximity. Her calf hit the sofa and paused. Her jaw tightened. The eyes that resembled their father's black orbs were wide with uncondealed fear.
Primrose was never like this.
Primrose was suddenly like a ghost.
Helena was scared but didn't dare speak of it.
Lilly was the first to get over Primrose's sudden attack on Helena. She pushed Primrose away and held Helena's shoulders soothingly.
Primrose chuckled at the act of mother protecting the child. It was a bad joke to her.
Lilly didn't seem to find it funny. She glared with a turn of her head and asked, "What are you laughing at?! This is all your fault! If only you were not so useless, you wouldn't suffer so much -"
"So you are aware that I have suffered?" Primrose interjected, feign shocking taking over her face, mocking her, "Am I not your daughter, mother?"
There was a hint of resentment and a lot more accusation carried in that question. Lilly was taken aback, only for a second. She quickly scoffed and continued to ignore Primrose.
Helena sniffed in her mother's arms, looking over her shoulder towards Primrose smug face. She wasn't able to shake off the feeling that awakened in her heart.
The heaviness came from the heart and pressed so hard that Helena wasn't able to regain her mind for a while.
Primrose fixed her hair as if none of that drama happened. She smiled extra charming at the family of three.
"Mother, father, sister," she addressed them one by one and gestured towards her blood red dress with one hand. "Is this good enough to meet your son in law?"
Once again the family was choked for responses.
"I'll take that as a yes. Your approval is of utmost importance in everything."
Primrose walked out of the front door without looking back. After being fed a bunch of bullshit, the Santiago family sat in silence in the open living room and started to worry about the future.
"Mom, I can't it anymore! She wants revenge!" Helena cried out. Her eyes started to turn a concentrated pink over the unending black.
Lilly soothed her, "She isn't capable of revenge. If anything, it's all just for bluffing."
Jacob echoed the same sentiments. Helena wasn't sure. She glanced at the open front door, fear gripping her heart. The look on Primrose's face wasn't normal at all.
