Lunar Wolves Book 1 Black Lunar Wolf

Chapter 9

Rudina

I get to Monique’s place by sunset. I did not stop running, until I got there. I go to her backyard, and to her door back there and then I howl. I hear two people coming to the door, and I see it is Monique and John.

“Rudina, John told me that Aurora has been kidnaped. Call the rest of the Lunar Wolves, and we will meet at the lake.” She said looking at me.

She has very grey hair and her mark is black. But she the only family, that I have ever had since I was when I was a cub. I let out a loud and long howl. This was every wolf knows around here, they need to come as called.

Monique transforms onto her wolf form, when I am done my howl. She looks just like her human form, but just with fur. John locks the house and puts on some runners on. He is use to us running with us, for all of his life.

Monique starts running, and I am just right beside her. John is a little behind me, but not very far. We go into the trees, and start making our way to the lake. I see other wolves join us, but they keep their distance a little more than John.

More wolves join us the closer we get to the lake. I even see some cub with us too. But Monique and I are in the front. We run to the upper part of the lake, the rest goes around the lake. Monique and I run to the little island on the water.

“I’ve called you here for one reason, and this is one of our kind has been kidnaped.” She said with a booming voice.

I can hear a lot of the other wolves making some noise. Some of them are crying, while others are snarling. But most are giving a sad howl into the sky. None of us are happy to know, that one of are kind has been kidnaped.

“What happened Elder Black Lunar Wolf?” Said one of the wolves.

“My daughter in law will tell what happened, and who was kidnaped too.” She said looking at me.

She steps back from her spot to let me stand there. I have not done this talking since the day I married Owein. That was a very big day, everyone was so happy that we married. That was also the first day that I actually was welcomed in too. I take a deep breathe to get ready, I open my eyes and look at the rest of the pack.

“My pack, the one who has been kidnaped was other than my own cub, Aurora.” I said in a booming voice.

“What!? No!? This cannot be?” Said a lot of the wolves.

“Yes it is, she was kidnaped on her way from school. And the kidnaper is the son of the man, who we hate. His name is Aquire, the son of Lord Doak. The man who has killed too many of us. He even killed my mate, when we got here to Canada.” I said trying to keep my temper down.

All of the Lunar Wolves, start snarling showing there fangs. But I do know it is not for me, but of what has just happened. And they will not be happy, of what I have to tell them next. But I know I have all of their support too.

“But that is not the worst part. Less than two weeks my cub will be an adult Lunar Wolf. We have never had a cub turn into an adult, when she has been captured. And believe me I do not want that to happen at all. We are free and we will always will be.” I said snarling.

All of the wolves are snarling, and look like they are ready to kill those humans. Even Monique is snarling too. I lift my head up, and let out a howl. The rest of the wolves joins me in the howling. We all want her to come back home, back to the wolf valley.

“I will be going to Song, and see if there are some powerful wolves, which will join us in finding Aurora and bring her home.” Monique said when the howling has stopped.

There is a lot of wolves that I can see, which agreed with what she has said. I know that if she goes there, I will have to wait for her until she comes back. But I also know there is so little time left for Aurora, before she is a true member of this pack.

We leave the middle island, and go back to the rest of our pack. They bow their heads to us, and we head a little more north. Some of the wolves join us, but most had to go back home. Some of the older cubs came with us.

Most of them have cubs of their own, which needed to be home and get ready for tomorrow. The ones that stayed with us came with us. We find a field that has flowers, which only bloom in the moonlight. We stop and summon our magic, to open a moon shaped portal to Song.

The portal looks like it belongs in a painting. There is beautiful pattern all around it, and it almost looks like a door too. Only we Lunar Wolves can do the moon portal, The Solar Wolves have their own. But there is Sun shaped, and look like the sun.

“I will be back as fast as I can, until then you lead the pack. Then we will go find your cub, I promise you that.” Monique says laying her head on my shoulder.

I do the same and I know, there is a few tears falling down my face. She lifts her head up too, and I can see she is crying too. She bows her head to me, and I do the same back. She turns and runs into the portal, we close it just after her.

The portal is the same colouring as the moonlight. It also sparkles like one too, and then when it is closed.  The sparkles fall onto the flowers. It makes them sparkle a little bit in the moonlight, and just makes up smile. We all change into human form again.

“We need to pick the flowers, which has our magic on them. So that the humans will not find them.” I said picking the flowers.

These flowers live for about two years before they will die. There will be new flowers in this valley tomorrow. Before we have the Lunar magic, we help the night life a lot. The night animals and wildlife here loves, the help we give them.

But these flowers, we are going to dry them up and it with many different thigs. I grab the ones I pick, and put them into a bag. That one of the Lunar Wolves carry. We all turn back into wolves, and most of the wolves bow their heads and leave. The ones with the bags start fallowing me back to Monique’s place.

Once we get there I go back, I go back into human form. We grab the bags from the wolves, and they bow their heads to me and leave. I bow my head to them and head inside. We always work together, for doing this.

“We need to tie these up, to dry them in that spare room. Than we have to wait till she comes back, hopefully with help.” I said once we are inside.

“But first. You need something to drink, because you will just wear yourself down.” John said putting one hand my shoulder.

“Thank you John, I am not sure what I would do if I did not have a cousin like you.” I smiled and gave a hug.

“Well you might be dead, and I would have to look after your cub until she turns seventeen. And you know how I would be like with that. I had troubles trying to babysit your cub, when she was eight. One time and I said no after that.” He said with a grin.

“Hehe that was funny, you have no idea of taking care of a cub. That is why you have never found a mate of your own, and also not a cub of your own.” I said poking him.

“No thank you I think I like being alone, plus someone has to keep working in these type of days anyway.” He said smiling.

I smile and look around the home, and go into the spare room to hang these flowers. Once I get that done, I go to the kitchen and sit down in a chair. John is just finishing making me some tea, to calm me down again. He puts a cup down right in front of me, and himself and grabs a plate of something.

“Is that what I think it is?” I said trying to look at it.

He grins and nods his head, and puts it down right in front of me. These are cookies, which are the shapes of our true home. They are made from ingredients from home too, you will not find most of the ingredients here.

I grab one and eat it, I can feel tears running down my face. I have missed eating these so much. They help us when we feel down, or when we need to feel safe and happy.

“Lunar cookies are always the best. They are way better than the cookies here, I have missed eating these. Once we find and bring Aurora home, I am going to give her some of these cookies.” I said once I stop crying.

“I know you will, and also I teach her how to make these cookies too.” He said smiling and grabbing one of them.

“How long do you think Monique will be gone for?” I said looking at him.

“I hope not very long at all. It depends on the other wolves I have seen the council of the Elders, and they are not easy to convince at all.” He said looking at me.

I nod my head and down my tea fast. I put my dishes into the sink, and head upstairs and into the room I use when I visit. There is six bedrooms in this house, one of the rooms is Johns. She even has a room for Aurora when we find her soon.

I get into bed and hope that my cub is safe right now. I also hope that we can find her fast before time is up for us. I feel so lost without her near me, I just want my cub back. I close my eyes and have a dreamless sleep.
