"Ouch K. I'll s*******r you" I said gripping my pony tail that hurt slightly at the root as we walked into the ceramic world. "Oh dear, I'm scared" he said feigning fear and using my own words against me. He got me this time We entered into the shop and searched high and low, up and down for an urn that looked like mum's. We had tried to describe it in the best way we can, but all to no avail The thought of going back home without the urn made me rack my brain for a better description. Then the thought of my mom being sad and yelling at me, which she has never done to any of us but would be triggered at the thought of losing her mom's gift, made my brain fry. I thought hard for a while and instantly something came to my head "King, do you still have that picture that you, mom, dad and the crazy twins took?" "Twins? Who please?" "Ryan and Raymond, dummy. Check your phone" "Oh yeah. What about it? We are looking for something and you are asking about another" "Bring it out. I may be wrong but I just wanna be sure" I said, waiting for him to unlock his phone so we can search through together. We started the search but he gave up and handed the phone to me I remembered clearing my gallery because I lacked space, but I was praying that he still had it because there would be no other way to describe it anymore apart from that. I suddenly saw the picture I was looking for and opened it. Thankfully, the picture held what I needed. My mom and dad, carrying Ryan and Raymond, stood by the table where the urn sat, with Kingston and I standing in front of them. I signalled Kingston and when he came closer, we heaved a sigh of relief and showed the picture to the seller but stood on our toes when he entered a room in the shop. What if he checked and he does not have it? He came out with the dusty urn. It was exactly the same and undoubtedly, mom would not even suspect that something ever happened to her original urn and with that I grinned from ear to ear. We took the urn home and gave it a good shine, then we cleaned the house up. Kingston and I decided to go on a stroll. We moved around for a while and started heading back at 8:30pm. We got home and to our surprise, the house was dark which was strange. We have never had power outage before and with that, Kingston and I were cautious as we entered the house. I steadied my stance and stepped in, forgetting to look behind me for anyone and suddenly my feet left the floor, the door locked and I heard Kingston fall with a thud. With that the lights came on and we were surprised. Mom had tackled Kingston and I was on dad's shoulder. Although we were happy to see them, we were shocked "Mom, dad, how did you guys do that? I can't even make those moves" Kingston said as mom helped him up "Dad, you can still lift me? That's amazing. Do you have training sessions?" I asked dad as he put me down and I held him in a tight embrace. "Oh well, maybe we forgot to add that we had a few karate classes when we were younger" Dad said and mom spoke up "Happy that you guys kept the house in order while we were away, even without the servants around" mom said and Kingston quickly replied "Gosh mom, we ain't kids anymore. We can handle ourselves" "You guys sure about that? The thing is you can't talk me out of dismissing the servants" mom said and a little orb she had been playing with fell from her hands and rolled underneath the table where the urn sat. She picked the orb she needed obviously but from the way she slowly stood up, I knew something was amiss. Alas! A portion of the broken urn was there and she picked it up "King, Eve, did anything happen to the urn while we were away?" mom asked looking at the piece in her hand and then over to the urn as she studied it closely to check for any crack "Well......." "Stop. The urn broke and you guys got a new one. Didn't you?" mom said and with that I stepped forward. I had wanted to shift the blame but I knew it was a sensitive and serious matter so I decide to come clean. I apologized but I saw the hurt in mom's eyes. She just walked upstairs and we watched her go, dad followed her leaving Kingston and I. We each went to our respective rooms and I sulked for a while before dad knocked and said I should come downstairs for dinner. When I got there, mom, dad and King were already there, so I just joined them silently. "I really have held on to that urn for long. I should let it go already. Why did you guys get a new one?" mom asked and I responded "I knew you treasured it so much and I thought you would never know about it so I replaced it so that I won't see you sad" "That was thoughtful but I wanna let go off my past. I feel guilty for her death but at the same time, I believe it was a sacrifice to create a life. After all sacrifices must be made for the better good." mom said and Kingston spoke up "How about we plant a flower in it that would cover the whole urn so that you won't be having eye contact with it anymore?" "Well if you want it that way but I'm ready to still look at it and feel as normal as ever" "Whatever mom but this is amazing, I can't remember the last time I ate food that was made by.......wait. Who made the meal mom? Dad or you?" Kingston asked with a questioning look on his face. "Well if the food is tasty to you, then I made it. But if it isn't, your father had the kitchen" mom said and we all burst out laughing. I knew that I got my character from somewhere and that would be mom and Kingston was just like dad. He'd just laugh over it but at some points Kingston would try to have the upper hand which I would never allow him do "So Eve, how was your first day at your new school?" mom asked me "It was good. I've got three friends to keep me company" "You have always been an extrovert dearie, I know you will catch up easily" dad said amidst munching on his chicken. "Of course dad and they are amazing so far. There's one that I think I'll get along with so well among them and her name is Nixon Skylar. Then the other two are Percival Sydney and Ferdinando Phoebe. " Ferdinando?" my dad asked and stopped eating, raising his head to look at me. "Yes dad. Do you know about the family?" I asked concerned. "Oh no, I don't. It just sounded like my colleague's name. It's nothing" he replied and resumed his eating. I noticed he was uneasy but I did not bother asking questions. It got me worried but I decided to let it slide.
