Chapter 7Reed had his first appointment with Dr. Harris and from where he stood things did not go well. He explained his relationship with Jack and his former relationship with Jim. Dr. Harris from Reed’s own description, from Reed’s point of view, told Reed he was one self-centered bastard. Since this was now pretty much the consensus, Reed had to believe they were all telling him the truth. It wasn’t pleasant to look in the mirror and find that what you thought you saw was in actuality an illusion, and what you were was unpleasant to look at and to be around. At the end of the session, Reed made himself a vow. No matter what the personal cost in pride, he was going to clean up his act.
