Chapter 3-2

2014 Words

Carmen loved surprises even if it made the other person uncomfortable. The funny thing is that even though she agreed to drop the subject on the way to wherever we were going, it didn’t happen. So, I decided to tell her about that night when I saw Franklin and Chad together. “I wouldn’t worry too much about it, Mike, those guys were complete assholes anyways,” Carmen said as she swerved in and out of traffic. Riding in a car while Carmen drove was not something I enjoyed, but since she felt I was the equivalent of a turtle behind the wheel she always insisted on taking her car. “Well, I didn’t let them get to me. I just walked right past them to the dance floor,” I lied. I had wanted to go and confront them, but I chickened out and instead ran to the bathroom and climbed out the window.
