When I finally came around I was laying on a soft bed. My head was killing me and my throat was dry. I heard people whispering but didn't have enough energy to open my eyes.

“What did you do to her Ace? She’s in the hospital because of you.” Lance!

“Don’t talk to me like that. Don’t you think I feel bad, she’s my mate but I just can’t get over the fact that she’s a rogue. I won’t make the same mistake. I love my family and pack I will not have it destroyed because of a mate. When she wakes up take her back to her apartment, I’ll let her stay in the territory for a few months like I promised but I don’t want her anywhere near me or the pack house.” I heard the door slam and decided to open my eyes.

“Hey Sweetie Pie how are you feeling?”

“Like I was hit by a bus, what happened?” I tried to sit up but I got dizzy. Lance ran to my side and helped me sit up.

“Hey take it easy you had a panic attack, you’ll be fine”

He looked at me with pity in his eyes. “I heard everything Lance you don’t have to explain.”

I was trying to hold back the tears. In the short amount of time that I have known Lance I came to love him as a brother. I would miss him, Keith and the rest of the guys. They've shown me more love than I ever could dream of. They've become my family. The guys spoiled me and treated me like I was princess.

“When can I go back home? I can’t face Keith it’ll break his heart and I can’t watch that.” He cleared his throat.

“The doctor said you could leave whenever you are ready. I promise I will come to visit you, you can’t get rid of me that easy. I love you Anna.”

That’s all it took for the water works to begin. “I love you too Lance. Why can’t he just accept me? You all know that I would never do anything to hurt you. At least he isn’t sending me back to my mate right away. I’ll have time to prepare before he beats the hell out of me.” Lance growled.

“I won’t let him hurt you. When the time comes for you to have to leave I’ll help you run away. We won’t tell anyone where you are only me and you will know. I lost one sister I’ll be damned if I lose another one, come on let’s get you home and settled.”

Lance checked my apartment out for me and went and talked to Mrs. Hopkins about my job and place. She agreed to let me stay and start back at work, I was grateful I needed a distraction.

The days went by fast, I went to work and came home. I only saw Lance twice this past month, he didn’t want Ace to find out that he was going to help me escape. I was currently sitting on the couch watching TV, there was a knock on the door. I got excited, I knew it was Lance. To say that I was shocked was an understatement. What the hell does this jerk want?
