My Second Chance Chapter 9

I tried to slam the door but wasn’t fast enough. “Is that any way to greet your mate?” Liam sneered.

“What do you want Liam? I’m not coming home and how did you find me?” He shrugged his shoulders.

“I followed John the last time he came to visit you. I’m here to take you home, now get your s**t and come on we got a plane to catch.”

No way was I leaving with him, I still had plans to run away. I wanted freedom, to feel safe and going with him ruins both of those plans.

“I told you I’m not coming home. You’re not a good mate Liam. You hit me, rape me and pimp me out to your friends. I don’t want to come home.” He growled and threw me against the wall.

“I will not tell you again Anna get your f*****g s**t and lets go. I’m in another Alphas territory without permission, I don’t have time for this s**t. You know what? Forget your things lets go.” He threw my shoes and purse at me and put me in the car. There was no use in fighting, he had two wolves with him.

When we got to the airport I told him I had to use the restroom. I planned on running as soon as he let me go but I didn’t make it anywhere. His friends caught me before I got to the door.

“John!” I screamed when I saw him in the kitchen, he looked shocked to see me.

“What are you doing here Anna? I’ve missed you.” I didn’t get a chance to answer because Liam did it for me.

“She finally came to her senses and decided to give us another try, I couldn’t be happier.” He hugged me and whispered in my ear.

“If you play along I won’t punish you that much.” I stiffened and nodded. I’ll do whatever he says I don’t want to make him mad again.

My mother came in at that time. “Anna? Oh my baby I missed you. Why did you reject your mate and run away that was very dumb.” She scolded me. My father came and hugged me which he has never done.

“Don’t you ever do that to us again we was worried sick.” Yeah right I thought to myself. They are only being nice because they found out that I was the Alphas mate.

“Well that’s enough catching up. I want to get Anna alone we have a lot of things to discuss.” Damn I didn’t want to be alone with him, who knows what he would do.

We went to his room and he pushed me on the bed kissing me which made me want to gag. I used to love his kisses but now, now they disgusted me. I no longer felt the fire that was between when he touched me like this. “You know you have to be punished for running away.”

“Liam don’t do this. I was going to come back I just needed time alone.”

She really thinks that I’m stupid. I sent that rogue to spy on her, he told me that she was getting real cozy with that Ace guy. I can’t wait to kill him, no one touches my mate but me.

“I don’t care about your excuses. You shouldn’t have left now you will have to pay and don’t bother screaming as you know my room is sound proof.” I could see the fear in her eyes, she should be scared after what she did.

I went to my closet and grabbed some rope, some metal and a torch that I used on rogues. Her eyes went wide as saucers when she saw what I had. “No Liam! Please I’m sorry I won’t run away again I promise.” I loved it when she begged it made it more exciting.

“You will learn to not run from me. I don’t want to mark you yet but people will know you belong to me.” I branded my initials in her back with silver metal so that it will scar. She screamed bloody murder but I didn’t care she needed to learn her place. I wasn’t always like this it was my first mates fault.

No one knew this but Anna was actually my second chance mate. You see every Alpha gets a mate and a second mate in case something happens they will still have a chance to continue their blood line.

I found my mate when I was 16, that slut had a human boyfriend and refused to break up with him so I kidnapped her and kept her in my cottage. I tortured, beat and raped her.

I was going to let her live until the stupid b***h told me that she would never love a monster like me. She then spit in my face, I lost it and killed her.

Anna is beautiful, I’ll give her that and she has a heart of gold but I’m evil I know that and there is no changing me. I tried after Anna ran away, I was going to win her back the correct way instead of hurting her but I just can’t help it.

I think it was because my grandfather killed a witch and the rumor is that she put a spell on all the Alpha males in my family that they would be heartless and have no emotions. I think that I broke that spell because I actually did love my mate at first site, too bad she was a dumb w***e.

Anna’s screaming brought me back to the present. I wanted to be the perfect mate for her but I know that she was having s*x with that Alpha and that pissed me off all over again.

“Time to have some fun Anna, god I missed you.” That wasn’t a lie, I actually did miss her. I started to kiss her where I would mark her and she moaned. She can’t help it, the mate bond is bringing us closer together.

I already had her undressed, it was easy access. I made love to her for the rest of the night, she’ll forget all about him in time.

“I love you Anna.” I said and turned over thinking of how I was going to start the next part of my plan.

I woke when I felt Anna stirring. “Liam I have to use the restroom.” I let her up and when she came back I decided it was time for some forgiveness.

“Anna why did you run? We could have worked it out, I was so worried about you.” I had fake tears in my eyes.

“I’m sorry. When you said you were going to propose to your girlfriend I felt rejected and hurt. I couldn’t stand by and watch my mate be with someone else.” I nodded my head showing her that I understood.

I can’t believe she’s falling for my act. I’ll have her fall for me, get her pregnant then lock her away. I only need her to make babies, I do need an heir to take over as Alpha someday.

“I’m sorry Anna, for everything I put you through. Please give me another chance to be the mate that you deserve.” I let my voice break and produced a couple of tears. I have known Anna all of her life I knew she would forgive me.

“I can’t Liam I’m sorry. You really hurt me, can I have a couple of days to think about it?” I kissed her and told her that I was going to get us breakfast.

Anna

I needed a way out of here, Liam has been nice these couple of weeks but I don’t know how long that will last. I missed Lance and the guys. I had to sneak and call him the other day. He said that everything was good and that they missed me.

Ace

I can’t believe she left, she went back to that asshole! I was going to let her stay, I was just pissed at myself that day I said all of those things. I knew she wouldn’t hurt anyone she was too nice. Keith kept asking where she was he missed her the most. Lance said that she’s doing fine but I don’t believe it, her mate is evil his family is cursed. I have been with Trish to try to forget about Anna but it’s not working, that girl is f*****g annoying, but I have needs.

“You miss her don’t you?” Lance asked looking up from his paperwork.

“No I don’t miss her, she made the choice to leave so I’m moving on.” I said coldly.

“Yeah keep telling yourself that bro, ever since she left your temper has been worse than it was before. You can fool everyone else but you can’t fool me! Why don’t you just call her?”

“I’m not calling her if she wants to talk she can call me.”

“Ace she can’t call you, he took her phone away. She snuck and called me the other day. She says that everything is fine but I don’t believe her she sounds depressed. All she has to do is say the word and I will be there to get her.” I knew that he was right but I was too stubborn to admit it, I did agree with him that if she called for help I wouldn’t hesitate, I would be there to save her.

“Why don’t you come with me. I’m meeting her next week in the next town from hers. Her brother is going to take her there, the Alpha can’t say anything because it’s neutral territory.” I thought about it I did want to see her just to make sure that she was ok.

“What day are you going? I will need to arrange a couple of things.”

“I’m leaving Friday at four I’ll book you a flight with mine.”

Anna

I was excited, today I was going to see Lance. My brother somehow convinced Liam that we needed some brother and sister time so we had a couple of hours. I sat at the booth waiting for Lance when I heard the bell on the door go off I jumped and ran to Lance like a mad woman tackling him to the ground.

“Someone missed me.” He said hugging me back. I heard a growl and saw that Ace was coming through the door. I haven’t talked to him since the day I left. I was too excited to see them to start an argument.

I ran and hugged him, he looked surprised he probably thought that I was going to be mad. I wasn’t, I now understood his reason for hating rogues.

“John this is Lance and Ace.” They all spoke to each other. We ate dinner after a while Lance made some lame excuse to leave me and Ace alone and John went with him. I cursed under my breath I didn’t want to be left with him.

“So how have you been?” He asked breaking the silence.

“Fine I just missed you guys, especially Keith how is he?” I felt so bad for not saying goodbye.

“He misses you. He asks about you everyday.” I could just imagine his face when they told him I left, I immediately became sad.

“Tell him I’m so sorry. I just couldn’t say goodbye it would have been too hard. I didn’t want to come here Liam showed up and made me.”

“Anna if you’re not ok you can tell me, we will take you back with us. I don’t like the fact that the only protection you have here is your brother, he can’t go up against a whole pack.” He was right but Liam has been great. We haven’t had a fight and he was actually nice, he treated me like a queen.

“I’m fine Ace, I promise if I need you I’ll call.” He didn’t seem convinced but he had no choice but to believe me.

We walked out the diner and got to his car. I was going to kiss his cheek but he had other plans he kissed me like there was no tomorrow. It made my knees weak, good thing he had me by my waist. He rubbed my waist and back up my shirt and froze when he felt my scar.

“Turn around Anna.” I can’t let him see.

“I have to go I’ll see you tomorrow.” I turned to leave but he grabbed me and turned me around. He growled when he lifted my shirt and saw the initials.

“What the hell is this? The only way to scar a wolf is by using silver.” His eyes went black, his wolf was taking over.

“Calm down it's fine I’m ok it’s an old scar.”

‘WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN CALM DOWN! He f*****g branded his initials on your back and your’e defending him. God you’re f*****g stupid Anna. If you want to stay with someone that abuses you then go ahead don’t expect me to save you.” He ran in the woods and shifted.

I was standing there looking crazy when Lance and John came back laughing at something. “Anna what’s wrong? Did someone hurt you?” John asked.

“No I’m fine me and Ace had an argument and he left. I don’t think he’s going to talk to me again. I just want to go home and sleep. Lance I’ll see you tomorrow at the same time if I can’t make it I’ll let you know.” He hugged me and kissed my cheek.

“Alright Sweetie Pie, if you need anything call I have to go calm Ace down.”

“Good luck.” I yelled, he winked and pulled off.

“Come on let’s get you home.”

(Ace’s POV at the diner)

When I walked in the diner and saw Lance hugging her I growled. She never hugged me like that, but she did this time. I was surprised god she was beautiful. I wouldn't admit it but I missed her. I was mad when she went back to the ass but all of that went out of the window when I smelled her scent, it was intoxicating. While we were eating I felt her gaze on me and when I looked up she would look away blushing. That was the moment I decided that she would be mine, I would kill anyone for her.

Lance take her brother and give us some time alone. He nodded.

“I’m going to see what the women are like around here.” Lance glanced at her brother and nodded he must have gotten the point.

“Yeah, I'll show you all the hot spots.” I could tell that she was nervous she looked anywhere but at me.

“So how have you been?” I asked.

“Fine I just missed you guys, especially Keith how is he?”

“He misses you, he asks about you every day” She nodded with tears in her eyes.

“Tell him I’m so sorry. I just couldn’t say goodbye it would have been too hard. I didn’t want to come here Liam showed up and made me.” My blood boiled at the mention of his name.

“Anna if you’re not ok you can tell me we will take you back with us. I don’t like the fact that the only protection you have here is your brother, he can’t go up against a whole pack.” I said.

“I’m fine Ace I promise if I need you I’ll call.” She didn’t fool me. I knew she wouldn’t call she’s afraid of confrontation.

I went to sit beside her to calm her down after awhile we started talking and joking around it was nice she was slowly becoming comfortable around me.

We walked out the diner and got to my car. I saw that she was going to kiss my cheek but I had other plans. I turned my head and kissed her with so much passion trying to make her want to come home with us.

I bet she has never been kissed like that before. I felt her knees getting weak so I decided to play with her some more. I rubbed her waist and up her shirt, I felt a scar and she froze.

“Turn around Anna.” She wouldn’t do it I felt my anger rising.

“I have to go I’ll see you tomorrow.” She made up some bullshit excuse to leave.

Fuck it! If she wants to be with that abusive trash then so be it. I don't even want to look at her right now and no I didn't feel bad for screaming at her someone needed to knock some sense into her. Not physically I would never hit her no matter how mad she makes me. I couldn't control my wolf any longer I let him out not caring about my clothes.

“Hey man.” Lance said from behind me.

“I’m not in the mood.” I didn’t want to talk to anyone, I knew with my temper I would end up hurting someone.

“What happened? We saw you two kiss then heard yelling.”

“She.” I took a deep breath “He f*****g branded his initials in her back. I’M GOING TO KILL HIM!” I yelled.

“That means he used silver, she lied to me. She told me everything was ok, she said he haven't hit her.” Lance said angrily.

“I want to kill him Lance. I'll go to war for her, all she has to do is say she wants to come with us but she's too naive to leave him. That pisses me off, I know something is wrong no one can change that fast.” I know he's up to something. I won't rest until I know she's completely safe. I'll kill him if I have to.

Liam

That stupid w***e, I try to give her some freedom and she goes and meet that weak wolf. I can’t believe John betrayed me, he’ll pay too just you wait. I’ll play like I don’t know anything.

Her heat is coming up so I still need to be nice. I know that she will get pregnant on the first night, after that I’ll lock her up until I need her again.
