Chapter 3Running his forearm across his brow, Jayson walked out of the theatre. As he removed his scrubs, he mused over the fact that only he could be needed to assist with an emergency Caesarean on what was meant to be his day off. Thankfully mother and baby were both doing well and he could leave them in the capable hands of his colleague Leo and the maternity staff. He headed home, aware of time ticking away. He parked his car in his drive, hurried to the garage, and opened the door leading inside. Three delighted dogs welcomed him home, and Jayson laughed at their antics as each tried to nudge away another to get more cuddles. Giving them each a small dog biscuit, Jayson hurried to get his shower, change, and get out. Dashing from bathroom to bedroom, Jayson knew he was running late
