"I'm not going to kill you," her voice laughed as I hid behind a pillar. I had no idea how we got here. First we were in ten cave, now we are here.
Must be Nezzura's games.
"Alaina, darling," I dove out of the way as a hand grasped at the place I used to be, "as fun as this little game is, we need to talk like adults do."
"I have nothing to say to you!" I screamed as I took off down a corridor. I glanced back to see a figure following me before smashing into something solid.
"You...amuse me," she said as she stood above me. I scrambled up to run but her hand caught my wrist. She twisted until I yelped in pain and brought to my knees, "I told you I was done with this game. Are you going to stop acting like a child or face your fate like the hero you are said to be?"
I said nothing as I glared at the hand that held my wrist. I saw no way out. I sighed and looked up at her swirling eyes with defeat in my eyes. I couldn't hide it. I was no match for her and she knew it.
"Good girl," she said as she released my wrist but not her hold as I soon found out that I couldn't move, "Alaina Jordan...that name carries power. It will in the other world as well."
"The other world?" I asked.
"Yes," she laughed, "many more worlds much larger and older than this one. But don't worry, you die before seeing any of them. Now, I need you to understand something."
"What?" I asked. Other worlds? Her words sent my head spinning.
"There is a much larger plan at work. A...bigger picture. Everyone has their parts to play. You...me...and that sweet baby Asher."
"You leave him out of this!" I screamed at her as I struggled against her hold. She watched my with a smug smile.
"You've had him for such a short time and yet...you love him so," she smiled, "don't worry. He'll actually be some of the few to survive."
"To survive what?" I asked her.
"Why," she smile with a told of her head, "the end of the world, of course."
