"Alaina!" Felix yelled as he watched the beast carry her away. He patted Midnight's back and he started after them just as something hit them, sending them out of control.
He was vaguely aware of the larger body falling beside him as he crashed into the sand.
His breath was knocked out of him as he struggled to keep his eyes open. Pain exploded throughout his body.
"Alaina..." He muttered just as a figure stepped in front of the sun. His eyes sunk closed despite his tries to stay awake...

He woke up to the sound of waves. Beach waves. It took him a moment to recall the events of yesterday. He scrambled up...erg...tried to but he soon found his hands were tied behind his back. He was in a small square room with water leaking through the ceiling. The room seemed to tilt every so often as he struggled against his bonds.
Every time he moved, it sent pain through his body. Nonetheless, he needed out. Alaina needed him. They all needed each other. Who knew what happened to everyone?
There was a ladder and a trap door which meant he was under the main floor or...he was on a boat.
That would explain the tilting floor, he thought. He couldn't be here. He needed to get to Alaina. He gave another hard yank at the bonds that stood behind him before yelling in frustration.
He jumped as the trap door open and a man crawled down the ladder. He was an older man with pale skin and a white beard growing. He looked at Felix with clear brown eyes before kneeling in front Felix.
"What's your name?" He asked with an accent that meant that English was not his first language.
"Felix," he said with a scowl. The man laughed as he stood up.
"Felix," he nodded, "me name is Maurice. Welcome to me ship, friend."
"We aren't friends," Felix spat.
"And why not? I think we'd get along," he said with a wink.
"Friends don't tie each other up," Felix told him.
"Ah, that does seemed to dampen my relationships," he said as he stroked his beard, "no issue there! Goodnight!"
"Maurice!" Felix yelled as the man climbed back up the ladder and disappeared behind the closed trap door, "come back here!"
"Ah!" Felix yelled as he struggled against the bonds once more.
He slumped against the bonds and closed his eyes. He had so many questions but no way to answer them. Was Alaina okay? Why was he here?
