(Lily's POV)
I am currently sitting in our room as Lobelia stands over on the other side, pacing back and forth. She is frustrated with me, I know that. We have been in here for about three hours now and the paint is still dried to her hair. I watch as angry tears roll down her face, as she tries to figure out a way to convince me to remove the paint.
"Lobelia, I think you look better with the pink hair. It isn't that different from your strawberry - blonde." I said, as I smirked at her horror - stricken face.
"Lily stop this. Just help our sister." Lavender whispered from the corner of the room. I sigh, seriously can't she just enjoy this with me for once?
"Please Lily, none of us can do this except you." Lobelia begged, as tears flowed down her cheeks. She looked around frantically, making sure no one saw her this way. Okay, maybe I feel a little bad. I guess I should probably help her.
"Fine." I said, nonchantly, as if it didn't matter either way to me. Though I knew I wanted to do this. I needed to do this because I didn't want to hurt Lobelia, but it seems I have. I close my eyes, as I feel my powers running through my body like a power of electricity super charging me. I feel the energy flow through my fingertips, as I think about what I want, and then wave my hand in front of me and towards Lobelia. As my hand falls back to my side and I open my eyes, there stands Lobelia, perfect all over again. No paint in her hair. Her hair was perfectly braided without a strand being misplaced. Her clothes aren't wrinkled from drying wet. Her skin is back to its shiny state. Her tear - stricken face looks as if she was never crying, no residue and no puffiness. Her make - up was flawless like always. I rolled my eyes, "You're welcome."
Then I exited the room, done with my sisters for the day. Now I need to go and find out what is happening in the kingdom without being caught. I am going to be a fly on the wall. I know that my sisters are in the room trying to gain their composure after all that harrassing I did. It will take Lavender at least a few hours to bring Lobelia back to a calm state, even if I have restored her perfection on the outside. So I just need to find out what the boys, Lawrence and my grandparents are doing. I pull into my senses, as I move swiftly and quietly around, trying to find them. I pick up the twins' scents and see them eating the colonies whole food stock. We were going to have to replace all that, I thought, before taking off to find the others. If the twins are distracted by food, then I know that they won't be trying to find me for at least a couple of hours. After searching for the next fifteen minutes and not finding anyone else, I was about to give up till I heard Lawrence's voice and it was getting louder. I can't let him find me. Then he will want to know why I am wandering the halls alone.
I absorb my body into the wall, something no one knows I can do. As I wait for Lawrence to go past me. One less person I need to find now.
"Goddess Selene and God Darius went back to the Kingdom to give the Queen an update. They should be back in a few hours." Lawrence said, as he turned into the hallway I was in. Who is he talking to? Why would he give information like that?
"Splendid. In that case, we should have time for a tour of the colony and then we will go to the community center where the ball will be held. Why exactly do you need to see where the ball will be? Do you think we should invite Lily on the tour?" Some husky man's voice questioned Lawrence. Why would they want me to go on the tour of the colony with them? As of right now, we don't know who will take over the throne. Mother wants all three of us too, but what if we have different mates and don't share one? We fight now from different opinions. Can you imagine if we got three mates who are like us but not each other? There would be no stabilizer causing the kingdom to fall. I know this. I just wonder how long it will take our mother to figure it out. Elder Sawyer comes into view and I have to hold in my gasp. He looks as if he wants to see me, but why?
Lawrence stops walking, as he turns towards the elder with a stern look on his face, "Listen and listen closely Sawyer. The triplet's and the twin's are the Queen's life. Security will always be my top priority. So that is why I need to see where the five of them will be exposed to too many creatures at one time. Secondly, don't you ever get the dreamy eye look again when talking about Lily or any of the triplets, for that matter. They are looking for their mates and only their mates. No one else will do for them, not even you. Got it?"
The threatening tone in Lawrence's voice sent chills down my back. I didn't know he had it in him. Eww, why would I ever want to be with someone around my mother's age? Oh no, what if my mate is old? I watched as Elder Sawyer's face paled at Lawerence's threat and then he nodded his head in confirmation before they continued walking down the fall. I had to hold in my laughter until they were gone. I can't believe that elder thought he even had a chance with me. I chuckled inwardly, still not wanting to be caught as I decided I should be fine to sneak off now, knowing everyone was busy.
I close my eyes and imagine the palace in the kingdom. Then I thought directly of my room. The best place I think that no one will see me arriving at the palace. As soon as I have the image in my mind, I teleport myself there. Landing right on top of my bed. "Oh how I have missed you my fluffy goodness."
Oh how I wish I could just stay in my bed for a few hours, "Very soon we will be back together." I said over - dramatically to my bed as I sighed and jumped up. "Time to find out what is happening to my kingdom."
"Good bye room," I whispered as I shut my bedroom door softly behind me. Time to find mother. I close my eyes and project my mind to find her, straight to the end of this hallway, down the staircase, to the meeting hall. Got it. I pulled my mind back and walked down to where I needed to be. When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I covered my scent and emerged my body with the wall as I kept pushing myself towards the meeting hall. As I arrived at the meeting hall, I listened to the conversation my mother, fathers and my grandparents were engrossed in. I see Oliver, Dara, uncle Alec and uncle Alfie around the walls, staying quiet but taking everything in.
"The kids are good, though I am concerned because Elder Sawyer does seem off," Grandfather Darius said, with concern written all over his face. Mother use to tell us about a story of the great war and how the Kingdom was built. She never told us the werewolf King she had to face was grandfather Darius, but I figured it out and eventually confronted him about it. For the longest time, I have only known him as an attentive grandfather who was always dotting on all of us. I never realized at one time there was conflict between everyone and him.
"What do you mean?" Mother asked in concern. She may have sent us away, but I know that we are everything to her. If someone we have run into who likes to use drugs on people, decides to become a threat. She won't take this lightly.
"Well, he seemed to be eyeing Lily weirdly. At first I thought it was because of her attitude, but then it just seemed off. Lawrence said he would deal with it," Grandmother Selene said with a sigh. What is wrong with her? Is it that she didn't want Lawrence to deal with it or she didn't want to inform my mother about it?
"What do you mean eyeing her weirdly?" Father Ace asked as he stood up in frustration. He hates when people try to beat around the bush just not to anger them.
"Mother, we need to know everything, NOW." Mother said in anger as she stood up and walked over to father Ace to calm him. The way the mate bond works makes me wish for a mate, but the pain I have heard about from rejection, a mate cheating, a mate not wanting you. I just can't let my guard down for something like that to happen to me. I want a mate and I don't want a mate, I am just better off on my own. Oliver began to look around as if he was hearing my thoughts. s**t. He smirks as he focuses back on everyone else in the room. He knows.
"Okay daughter, just sit. Elder Sawyer is giving off the vibe as if he wants to take Lily as his chosen mate. As we all know, he lost his true mate a week ago. I think that may have something to do with it. He may just still be mourning her. His mate was smart - mouthed and witty, just like Lily, and that could be why he felt pulled towards her. I am not a hundred percent sure. I think Lily reminds him of her. Lawrence said he would deal with it. Our more concerning issue is that he didn't seem concerned about the threat to the kingdom and all the colonies, as if maybe, you know, he may be working with him or already knew somehow." Grandmother Selene says slowly, as she takes in everyone's reaction. Who is he? Why is this person after the kingdom and colony? Could Elder Sawyer really be working with him? He didn't give me a threatening vibe and I am usually good at snaking traitors out.
"Why don't we have Lily read the elder's mind to find out if he is? Then we would know if we need to go deal with the light colony, right?" Oliver tells them with a smirk, what the hell dude? How dare he out me. What was I thinking? I was supposed to conceal my thoughts too. How could I forget that Oliver and mother can read them, though I knew mother's mind wasn't open because I couldn't hear hers.
"Oli, I don't want the girls or twins knowing or worrying about this problem. You know that." Mother sighs in exhaustion, as if she can't believe she has to repeat herself at a time like this. I see the bags under her eyes, the wrinkles littering her face, the pain radiating off her. That is why she didn't want the twins to come back. How would she have hidden this from them? She needs our help but doesn't want us worrying. s**t, I am going to have to reveal myself just to help them.
"Is that so? I think it may be too late for that now. I think little Lily learned a new trick", Oliver said in amusement. Goddess help me.
"What are you babbling on about dear?" Dara said in annoyance. Those two bicker like cats and dogs but work together as if they are one. It is inspiring, honestly.
I slowly separated myself from the wall, hearing gasps echo around me.
"Hello mother." I said calmly as I looked around the room. "So, who is this 'he'?"
"Lily," Mother gasped in surprise. I can finally hear her thoughts, 'How did she get here and how did she walk out of that wall like a ghost.'
