(The Chosen Goddess Queen Adelia’s POV) ‘We have a problem.’ I receive a mind link from my mother, in the middle of talking with my mates. ‘What is the issue mother? I thought you would be able to deal with the girls with father and Lawrence. I know the twins are there now too, but I need to be focused on stopping the threat.’ I linked back, sighing in exhaustion. “You need to get sleep, little one.” Alerious says as he lifts me out of my chair, heading towards our room. I don’t fight him because I know he is concerned with me. It seems my strength and powers are slowly dwittling to nothing over the last couple of years. I thought it was because of growing older but mother didn’t lose her strength and abilities like I am. My mate’s have been trying to figure out why this is happening but so far, we do not know. ‘That isn’t the problem Adelia, it is the Elder here. He is still trying to pursue Lily.’ My mother, Selene expressed through mind link. I jump out of Alerious’ arms. “We have to go to the girls.” I state before mind linking Oli. ‘Oli, I need you to get bags for Alerious, Ace, Antonio and I. Then for yourself and Dara. We must go see the children. Bring Riya too. She will be staying with the kids to help protect them.’ ‘Do you think that is a good idea princess? The girls don’t really get along with Dara and I’s daughter. Riya will be all over Lawrence. I am sure that will start a fight between them.’ Oli mind links me in concern. I get why he is concerned. Ever since the girls were born, they have been the center of Lawrence’s attention. Riya has always wanted to be treated the same. They all used to play together, and he gave her plenty of attention, but it was never the same connection that he has with the triplets. I had always hoped they would be close, knowing Dara and Oli are two of my protectors. My twin brothers and their mate, Alana, have had three children. Two boys who are a year older than my twin boys and one little girl who is three years old. Our boys have a close connection and my daughter’s, and all the boys are very protective of their youngest. ‘They need protection with them, and I need to go deal with the elder there. Even if they are leaving, I do not trust that this will not be a problem in the future at any other colony. I will tell all of them to behave and they will still have Selene and Darius there with them.’ I mind link back, trying to ease his mind. ‘I am fine with her going, maybe this will teach her responsibility.’ I hear the annoyance in Dara’s voice as she joined the mind link. ‘Alright sounds good, everyone be ready in thirty minutes tops.’ I linked everyone before closing the link and opening one with my mother, father and Lawrence. ‘I will be there in an hour.’ With that I closed the link before a response was given and tried to build my strength back up. I need to look at my top when I arrive there. (Lily’s POV) I didn’t mean to say that Lobelia, I knew how much she wants a mate. That is the one subject I would never nag her on. That would have been crossing the line, but I did, and I wish I could take it back, but I knew I couldn’t. The constant nagging feeling that I need to find those eyes that were staring at me on my walk here. The feeling off trying to connect with those eyes and see what those eyes belong too. I am walking in the garden, just wishing I could lose my thought process of those eyes that are haunting me. Why can’t I shake this feeling? I know I should go check on Lobelia and maybe even apologize. Though what kind of use am I to her if I am still aggravated? Maybe it is best if I just link her. ‘Lobelia?’ I question in our link, hoping she will respond. ‘I am not talking to you right now.’ Lobelia said, the sadness dripping in her voice. I know she has been crying by how soft and fragile she sounds. ‘You don’t have to talk to me, just listen. I am sorry for saying that. I went to far and I shouldn’t have, you will have the most amazing mate ever. A better mate than anyone has ever had before. I am sorry, Lobelia, and I love you.’ I said sincerely through the link. I don’t need a response I just want her to know that what I said wasn’t right and she deserved better and will have better. Before I hear Lobelia say anything or I was able to close the link I heard a voice behind me. I can’t believe I was so lost in thought and my mind link that I didn’t notice the presence behind me. “Fancy seeing you here. The garden is gorgeous, is it not?” Elder Sawyer says cheerfully behind me. I roll my eyes in annoyance as I turn around to face him. Goddess, please save me from this situation. “Seems planned, honestly.” I say with a smirk as I watch him get flustered. “I bet you think this garden is nice to you, but the Queen’s is a lot better.” “What if I wasn’t meaning the garden…” Elder Sawyer starts but I cut him off. I do not need to hear the rest of that. I raise my hand to silence him. “I do not want to hear the rest of your statement. Let me just make this clear. I don’t even want my mate what makes you think I would willingly be a chosen mate to someone. I see the way you look at me so don’t be shocked I know.” He still looks shocked with his mouth hanging open. After a few seconds he recovers and plasters a smirk on his face. “Nevertheless, you will be my chosen mate, willingly or forcefully. I don’t mind a fight to get what I want.” I stare at him emotionlessly; he really thinks he would win a fight? Before I can even get a sense if he is kidding or not, Elder Sawyer leaps at me. Shifting into his wolf mid - air. I begin to laugh as he pushes me to the ground and his wolf is now on top of me. He thinks he can take me down with that. His brown wolf that looks like someone took a dump, is a mere five feet tall. He must be joking. His strength is doing nothing to me in human form. My wolf is silver and over eight feet tall, does he really think the daughter of the Chosen Goddess and Queen would be weak? I quickly shift into my silver wolf, successfully knocking him off me. I stretch my limbs before staring at him with my pitch - black eyes. For some reason my eyes are black, they look empty, in wolf form. Everyone tells me it makes me look even more terrifying, as if a giant wolf isn’t bad enough. “Lily?” Lobelia exclaims, slightly out of breath and panicked. I watch as Lavender falls in behind her and I just now realize they have heard the whole thing. s**t. “You can’t have our sister she has a mate out there. If you continue to fight her it will be considered treason to the kingdom and Lily will have every right to kill you on the spot.” Lobelia places her hands on her hips, glaring at the tiny brown wolf. Does she think she looks intimidating? I chuckle in my wolf form, coming out like a huff. She is never taken seriously, neither is Lavender. They are just not as demanding, in control, loud and out there like I am. As I get into a position to attack, I wait patiently for him to make the first move. Though patience is not my strong suit. Come on, come on, come on. Attack me. I want to feel the joy of crushing your bones in my mouth. Lobelia and Lavender stare at me, not in shock but concern. They know how blood thirsty my wolf gets every time I let her out. I would never fight my instincts; this is taking a great deal of strength to keep going like this. “ELDER SAWYER, STAND DOWN. My children will only take their true mates and if for some reason their true mate does or rejects them, they will get a second chance or live with none. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?” Mother sternly says as she comes out of the shadows. The Goddess, Queen command is almost unable to not follow, well except for my sisters and I. We can disregard it. I watch as Elder Sawyer shifts back into his human form. He bows to my mother and looks at me with lust and want, making me think this won’t be the last I hear from him. He walks away and heads inside. I shift back fully clothes and look at my mother annoyed. Why is she even here? “I had it under control.” I mumbled in anger, as I cross my arms in front of my chest. “Did you? By what, given into your blood lust and killing a colony leader?” Mother questions in amusement, she can't be certain I would have done that. Though I wanted too, so bad. “Hello Lily, Lobelia and Lavender.” Riya said in her high pitch annoying voice. I roll my eyes, why did mother bring her? Lavender walks away, not being able to deal with it. None of us like her. She is rude all because she wasn’t Lawrence’s attention. What she doesn’t get is that Lawrence is our protector unless she was his mate, he won’t give her the attention she wants. “Where are you going daughter?” Father Ace asked to Lavender, the thing with Lavender is she knows how to block everyone else. She is like a wall flower no one notices unless they want to, and she likes it like that. So instead of speaking or even turning around to acknowledge Father, she just keeps walking as if he never said anything. “Leave her be.” Mother says as she plays her hand on his arm. “We need to talk, all of us. So, I would appreciate if you went and got your sister and meet us in the meeting room. Also, due get along with Riya, she will be joining you guys on your little mate seek.” Of course, she will be. “Let’s go get Lavender, Lobelia.” I said in annoyance as I hooked my arm with Lobelia and head off to get my sister. How dare mother makes that decision without discussing it with us first. She knows we do not get along and now she thinks Riya could protect us more than I could or Lawrence. First the twins, now her. Ugh. “Why did mother bring her?” Lobelia said in disgust. When ditsy and the mediator dislike someone you know there is a real problem. We love Uncle Oli and Aunt Dara, but their daughter is like the devil’s spawn. Ever since she got her eyes set on Lawrence, she would do horrible things to try to get the attention on her. She has made us all resentful to her and the adults just don’t care like they should. As we arrive in the room, I look around to find Lavender staring out the window watching the moon. “Mother has asked for our presence.” Lavender continues looking out the window, not responding or moving at all. “Lavie?” Lobelia questions calmly, as she slowly starts to approach our sister. “Mother wants us present in the meeting room. I know you don’t want to see Riya, but we must go and listen to mother.” Lavender and Riya use to be friends, she used to be the only one she talked to until one day she recorded her against her will, causing great embarrassment for Lavender. She never forgave her and from that day on, she barely ever talked to anyone. Lavender nodded and we all headed off to meet mother.
