LOVE CIRCLE ( BOOk II )

Chapter 5 - Hardworking.

"Thanks for the information sir! I will keep that in mind". Anna said as she got busy with her computer.

She's just a new worker but when she sat at the place assigned for her, there were already piles of work on her desk awaiting her.

"Welcome to the company". The black handsome guy said. referring to Anna.

"Thanks!".

Anna didn't want to make friends with anyone, she didn't want to be distracted by friends so she had already advised herself before coming that she will distance herself from a lot of people because she won't take it with her if she gets distracted by friends who have nothing good to say to you.

She doesn't want friends who aren't going to add anything to your life.

The handsome black guy sitting beside her was expecting Anna to at least add to her short previous statement, but since he didn't get any other reply, he just shakes his head sideways and focuses on his work.

Anna was still arranging the files on her desk, while at the same time recording the file on her computer because if she loses any of the files at her hand, she can easily get the files from her computer.

"Miss Anna, the manager of this company would love to talk to you".

The voice wasn't coming from her front, neither was it coming from behind her, but it was coming from above her.

There's a speaker at the ceiling which is very tiny but when it's used becomes audible to the ears.

"Umm... what did I do again". Anna asked.

"Did you do something before". The young handsome guy asked.

The guy has a light chocolate complexion, and his hair is neatly cut. He is handsome and seems to look like a black American because of his appearance.

"No! Sorry I didn't do anything, I am just allowing my mouth to say whatever it wishes, but why would the manager seek for me?".

"Ohh! I thought you did something, because of the manner you use in saying 'what did I do again'. But I don't know why the manager is looking for you, but I will advise you to run to her office now, because if she waits for you for a whole two minutes and you aren't there, then you will have to face her ".

"What's your name again, I have forgotten it". Anna said as she asked the young man his name.

"My name is Moses, and just a reminder, I haven't told you my name before". Moses said.

"I don't know what has gotten into me, I guess I'm nervous because it's my first day, but nice meeting you Moses". She said as she got up from her chair and started arranging her black skirt.

"Nice talking to you Anna". Moses replied, causing Anna who was already going to the manager's office to come back.

"And how did you get to know my name?". Anna asked

Moses didn't reply to her, but he just stared at the ceiling indicating that Anna should look up.

Anna followed his gaze and saw that he was looking at the small speaker, that's covered with a camera.

"And I also got to know your name from the ID card across your neck". Moses said.

Anna nodded her head and left his presence because she didn't have anything to say to him.

She didn't even know the manager's office, because she still forgot to ask about Moses.

'Yeah Moses seems nice, but I won't dare to make friends with that kind of person, because he had looked at me with eyes filled with lust'.

She kept on roaming around as fast as her feet could carry her until she found an elevator.

"Hello Miss, please what floor is the manager's office located in?". she asked an elderly woman politely. The woman seems like someone who's probably working in the company, because of her dressing and the ID across her neck.

"It is located on the upper floor". The woman answered.

Anna thanked the woman and immediately entered the elevator before pressing the upper floor button. It wasn't up to a minute, Anna found the door of the elevator opened, so she came outside of the door, just to see another door that might probably be the manager's office because there's an inscription that says 'MANAGER'. at the door.

Anna breathes in and out, before summoning up the courage to knock at the door.

Just as her hands landed on the door, she heard a lady from the other side of the door say 'Come in'.

She opened the door and saw that her manager was holding her file because she could see her handwriting at the back of the file.

"Good day ma!". Anna greeted, and the lady who was using the file to prevent her face from showing, suddenly dropped down the file causing Anna's heart to start beating rapidly.

"Good day Anna". Cloe greeted me with an evil smirk on her face.

Anna was so surprised to see Alex's younger sister Cloe. She wasn't aware that Cloe was the one she saw this morning that everyone is afraid of.

Cloe has become so fat because she had added weight by merely looking at her. Cloe is now pretty and you can still see the bossy part of her, because of the way she carries herself.

"You sent for me ma!". Anna said because she just wants to get over this awkward moment. After all, both of them were just staring at each other without uttering a word.

"Please don't be ridiculous, when did you start calling me Ma!?". Cloe asked.

"Hmm .... ever since I started working with your brother as a cook". Anna replied sincerely.

"Okay! Let's make things clear, I'm not as bad as I seem to be, but I just can't help but ask this question! why did you apply for a job at one of Alex's companies?". she asked.

"I would have applied for a job at any company if I want to, but during my research, I found out that this company pays their workers very well, and not just this company, but Alex's company so I decided that since I'm badly in need of money, then I don't see anything that's bad in applying for a job at a company which I admire". Anna replied with her head up, her voice straight and her English smooth.

"So are you saying you didn't apply for a job because you think that Alex is going to help you get appointed as a worker in whatever company that you wish to work in".

"Well, I didn't ask Alex to help me, because my degrees can firmly speak for me". Anna replied proudly.

She's a first-class student, so she knows for sure that her degrees will take her to a place and not Alex.

"I'm happy for you, at least your degrees are great, and you are always working hard without looking for anyone to help you, I must admit I like that about you". Cloe said, catching me off guard.

"I don't get what you mean that you like that about me". she asked pretending like she didn't hear what Cloe said earlier.

"Anna isn't it obvious that I like you". she asked.

"I'm not aware that you like me". Anna said, rolling her eyes. "No offense but you were behaving like a monster when I saw you at Alex's house".

"I was the one who motivated Alex to pursue after you, and I'm sorry for being a b***h that time. I was only learning how to become a boss, and I used you as an experience for my experiment". Cloe said.

"What! Like seriously! please tell me that you are kidding because you can't be serious".

"Well since you want me to tell you that I'm kidding, then sure I'm kidding. But if you want me to tell you the truth, I will just say that I'm not kidding, like why would I have summoned you here, and why would I ask about you every time that I get in contact with Alex". Cloe asked.

"I'm speechless right now, but thanks I guess". Anna replied as she placed her phone beside her stomach.

"You are a hardworking girl, and Alex is blessed to find someone like you". Cloe said smiling.

"Thanks!. May I take my leave now, I have a lot of work piled up for me".

"Sure! you can go ahead, and I hope to see you soon, maybe we can go shopping together whenever you are free". Cloe said.

"Whenever I am free I will inform you, and thanks for the kind offer". Anna said, closing the door.

She doesn't know what to do because Alex had made it clear to her that most of his family members seem nice but aren't nice initially.

Anna went to her desk and sat down on her chair. Moses asked her about what commences between the manager and Anna. She only nods her head because she also didn't know what just happened a while ago.

She continued her duty until it was lunchtime. She left her office which she pairs with Moses.

She was about to grab a sandwich at the company eateries when she bumps into someone. Her mind hasn't yet settled down.

Anna didn't bother to look at the person as she just said the word 'SORRY'. As she shifted, before walking to the right.

She hasn't even gotten to the eateries when she bumps into someone else again.

She didn't apologize this time around but each time she avoids the individual, the person keeps on appearing at her front. Anna got angry and raised her head to yell at the person, but unfortunately, her inner self yelled at her after her gaze landed on the person.
