I woke up feeling confused and not sure where I was. Birds were singing in the trees, the sun was blazing down and I sat up to find I was not in my bed at all.
I was in the middle of the forest. What and how did I get here?
Then I remembered.
My parents had sent me to my room and I had run away. I hugged my knees to my chest and sighed trying hard not to cry.
This was my life now. I was going to be free and never come back to this place. My parents were more bothered about my brothers anyway, I was just a nuisance to them.
I thought about my best friend and closed my eyes. I wish that she could have come with me but I knew it was best for her to stay there. She didn’t need me either.
