Betrayal
Amelia’s POV
She is my best friend and I know she would never do anything to hurt me.
We have such a special bond that nobody and nothing can ever break.
It’s like we are sisters but with different parents. Although our parents treated us the same, one big happy family or so I thought.
I couldn’t believe the nerve of Andrea Devons coming up to me and the rubbish that flowed from her poisonous mouth. There was no end to her stirring the pot. She would spread the most malicious rumours about anyone and deny it if confronted. So why should I believe anything that she wanted to say to me?
“Alissa is sleeping with your boyfriend. I saw them out together last night.” I stare at the girl who is standing in front of me with wide eyes and hands on her hip. She flicks her long brown hair over her shoulder not taking her eyes off me.
A smug look on her make up caked face as she waits patiently for me to flip my lid. Andrea has always been a trouble maker right through nursery to high school.
She just loved the drama of causing people problems and the hurt they would go through due to her lies and deceit.
I wanted to beat the hell out out of this i***t but she was not worth getting into trouble over so no, I definitely was not about to lose my s**t with her nor was I about to believe a word she said. I might look stupid in her eyes but she was just wasting her time.
“Goodbye Andrea.” I laughed in her face before I sauntered off to my next class.
What a nerve.
“Fine don’t believe me but your the one who will be sorry when you see it for yourself!” I heard her yell down the hall as I reached my next class before the bell rang.
Walking into the class I spotted Alissa sitting at our normal table with Jake standing in front of her, she was laughing at whatever he had just said to her and neither had noticed me enter the room.
A strange feeling came over me but I quickly pushed that to the back of my mind, telling myself that Andrea wasn’t going to make me into a paranoid mess.
“Andrea reckons you two have something you need to tell me.” I walked right up to them and they looked up in surprise.
“Oh yea like what?” Jake raised an eyebrow waiting for me to explain what I’m further detail.
Alissa glanced down at the paper in front of her as if avoiding my questioning attitude.
“Well she says you two are keeping a big secret from me. You know like I need to be worried about how close you two are.” I said.
I could have sworn I saw a look of guilt and worry flash over their faces for a second but then Jake reached for me pulling me into him and kissed my forehead.
“She’s just a jealous freak with nothing better to do. You have nothing to worry about.” Jake promised me.
An immediate sense of calm washed over me and I couldn’t believe I could ever doubt the loyalty of the two most important people in my life.
“Milly what’s up with you?” Alissa gave me a strange look and grabbed my hand.
“Andrea is a lying two faced cow and you of all people should know not to listen to her. “
Alissa looked quite hurt over my accusations and I felt awful for even thinking it for a second. What sort of friend was I?
There’s no way there could be any truth in it? I couldn’t help the nagging feeling at the back of my mind.
What if?
