chapter 12

Taylor pov

It has been a few weeks now. my back is almost healed, I had felt Kimmie but not too much, i knew she was trying to heal me. i've helped around the hotel because I felt if I'm staying here for free I needed to help with something. The owner that had helped me i found out his name was Chris, he's a really nice guy, his daughter is Tay, she has helped me with my back ever since they found me on their doorstep, i still couldn’t figure out how in the world i got there, i guess i will never know, I have thought about Callahan every now and then. i wondered if he had ever found his mate, well two days ago was my birthday, i didnt sense anyone or smelled a scent. So my mate was not here, I really wasn’t looking for one. i had to recover first.

“Taylor, Come here for a minute sweetheart, I need to talk to you about something,” I was a little nervous. I wondered what Chirs wanted. I walked into his office, he was writing something down on a notepad then placed it on his desk. I set down waiting for him to talk to me,

“Taylor, I know you have been here for several weeks now, I know you have said once your healed you will leave to find a job to pay us back, But how about this, How about i give you a job as a housekeeper, i need the help and you need a job, so what do you say?” I really haven’t been thinking about leaving just yet because my back isn't fully healed, but shoot, if he’s offering me a job, i am up for it, i can save the money so i could either get out of town for good, or i could just finish my college degree as a Veti i only had a year to go, so why not, i made up my mind right there in then,

“Thank you Chirs, I will take the job, that way I can save up some money, when do I start?”

“Well you’ve already had. you been helping around here for weeks now, so i just thought i would put you on the payroll,” we both laughed at that, we talked for awhile then i got up to go to my room, I wanted to see if Kimmie would talk to me,

“Kimmie, come on, talk to me. at least let me know that your okay come on kitty kitty come out to play/” i knew she hated that, and sure enough she came out,

“Taylor you know i hate that, i have been healing and trying to heal you at the same time, it takes a lot out of me. not to mention been trying to find our mate, So far we have not found him.”

“I've given up on that right now. How about we get our ducks together first then we will look for our mate, i just don’t want to cook and clean then have babies all my life. I need to decide what I want to do, I might want to go back to college to become a lawyer, or better yet a vet tech. We love animals,”

“Yea I love to eat them.”

“Kimmie come on, I'm serious. I need to see how much i can save up in a year than go back to college,”

“Sounds good to me.”

Callahan pov

It's been a few weeks that Taylor has been gone. I keep thinking she was going to walk through that door at any given second but she never does. I missed our movie watching night and other nights we would talk about things. If i went to see her she probably would think i was there to kill her or hurt her again, last week was her birthday my buddy daughter met me i gave her a shirt to give her for her birthday, That way she would not have a clue that i gave it to her, i kept thinking about that day of my fathers death, why didn’t she run? Bane was yelling at me everyday. Calling me a jerk for doing what I did to her, I was just so angry at the time. i was upset that my mother was crying, i was angry that my father had died. I was not thinking straight at the time., I went back to the clearing by myself, i sat in the spot where I found them. i looked around hoping i would find something anything to prove that she did not do this, I even walked around looking to see anything, I did find something on the ground, It was fur, i had it analized, it wasn't my fathers or Taylors or the rest of the group that was dead,, We couldn't figure out who it belong to, I had a feeling the fur belonged to a rogue. My mother is still in mourning, So i haven't said anything to her about what i had found. Who am i kidding, she would rip my head off if i tell her anything right now. I am the king, i need to figure things out on my own, I have had my fun with the she cats around here several times, i'm getting bored with them, and i think they are getting bored with me, even Tabby has been staying away lately, i just think she is just trying to play hard to get. Maybe tomorrow i'll go have a chat with her just to see what she might do. I was done for the night i was so ready for bed, all this investigating wore a person out, I noticed when I got to my door that it was partially open. I rolled my eyes, opening the door wider so I could walk inside. I shut it behind me, turning on the light. I already knew who it was before I even walked inside. It was Tabby wanting to play her little games with me she was laying in my bed naked waiting for me to get into bed, shi+ why not, she can be my bed buddy, ill just have to let her know straight away that this is all it is nothing else nothing more. i already have a mate, But she doesn't even know, We had our fun that night and every other night for a year, it only just got better.
