Dustin pov

i did not want to go to this ball but my father is making me,

“Son, if you do not find your mate you will not be alpha, i will stay alpha until you do.”

“But dad,. i don't need a mate to be alpha, I am strong without one. i can rule this pack and make it even stronger,”

“And with a mate you can make it even stronger,” I sighed, knowing he was not going to let this go. so i decided to humor him,

“Fine, if i find her, i will bring her right home, then we will wait two days to have the luna ceremony, are you happy?”

:”Yes, but you will not reject her when you become alpha, you have to stay with her for two years to make sure that is what you want to do. if you reject her any sooner than that, then i will take your title away and become alpha once more, do i make myself clear?” dam it, he knew me all to well,

“Fine, fine dad. you win, i will wait two years, and then if i decide to reject her i will, and it would be my choice,” He nodded and then told me to make some phone calls for him, I still wonder why he wanted me to have a mate so badly, after mom died so long ago, he says mates slow us down, now he wants me to have a mate, this is just crazy, but fine, I have to do what he says, or i will never be able to become alpha, if she isn’t there, maybe i can talk some female to pretend to be my mate for two years, i'm sure whe she finds out she will be luna, she will agree to it right away, but that's only if my mate is not there, I will promise her the world. I knew i was full of shi+ what really killed his mother was being unfaithful, She had cheated on me several times, I will never tell Dustin about this, that night i was flirting with a woman, i kissed her and had my arm around her that's when his mother saw me. when i came home she slapped the shi+ out of me cussing me out calling me all kinds of names, it was her love that came one night looking for her, he wanted her as his mate, But he didn't know i was home, She ran out the door and i followed her, and so did he, He begged for her to come with him to reject me to be with him., she said she couldn't, i was her mate, she had a child with me, she wasn't going to abandon him for her lover, He took out a knife and stabbed her over sixty times, he ran off, when i caught up to him, i ripped his head right off his shoulders. That's what really happened, But i will never tell Dustin that she was the unfaithful one. i do not want him to think ill thoughts about her, she was a wonderful mother, and luna she just couldn't stay faithful that's all. I knew I gave him something to think about. something hard to think about, He really didn’t need to have a luna by his side.
