Eric's sharp looks were proof to Lydia that it was not the time to joke, so without her starting to tease him or starting a quarrel with him, he began to perform the spell that would transfer the five of them to her mother's palace under the eyes of the rest, who did not understand what was happening.
Except for Eric, the four of them were surprised by King Victor as well as Mirakella, Queen of Sirens, and Balder was also surprised by his father, King Ackerman, King of the Elves, and his older sister, Kayla. Emily expected to see Sarah too, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Emily unconsciously pressed Eric's hand when she saw everyone present staring at her, and according to her little experience, that means something she will not be happy to know; they will definitely say it to her no matter what.
"Lydia, thank you for bringing all of you safe and sound," said the Queen of the Witches.
Lydia smiled gratefully at her mother. Celestia knew that a teleportation spell was difficult for a young witch like Lydia, so she was keen to show her pride in her daughter even when it wasn't the right time, so Lydia was always grateful to her mother.
Beyond expectation, Kayla, Balder's older sister, took a step forward and fired an arrow from her bow towards Emily, who screamed and put her hand in front of her face while she closed her eyes and waited for the arrow to hit her, but nothing happened.
Emily opened her eyes, widening in shock when she saw everyone in their transformed forms.
Aiden was in his full Angel form, with his wings forming a wall in front of Emily on one side, while his eyes sparkled and a bright blue energy like lightning began to surround his body as he took an attacking stance. On the other side, Baldr was standing in an attacking stance, surrounded by golden circles, as his hair flew in the air. And also Lydia, whose hair turned white and her eyes turned white as she put something like a bubble around Emily, while at the end it was Eric who had not completely transformed, but certainly his werewolf took complete control and was now holding the arrow that almost hit Emily in his hands while standing right in front of her.
Kayla smiled triumphantly and said, "It seems to be true."
Eric's Wolf growled at her, and King Victor said, "Easy, son." Then he looked at Kayla indignantly and said, "Princess Kayla just didn't think well."
King Ackerman looked at his daughter, who smiled and shrugged her shoulders, then looked back at the rest and said, "Excuse my daughter's recklessness; she certainly won't do anything like this again."
The biggest attention was on Emily and the rest, and Mirakella said out loud, "Don't worry, she's safe."
But that spear that Aidan formed from lightning was evidence that none of them were convinced of that, and Celestia said, "I think Kayla should leave the hall."
King Achriman looked at her puzzled, and Victor said, "I think they are in a protected state now, and I don't think Kayla's presence helps. It's only a theory, I think, but let's try it."
Despite Kayla's objection, she left as soon as her father told her to leave.
Emily breathed finally; she did not realise that she was holding her breath as everyone around her began to return to normal, and they looked at each other in shock and did not understand what happened.
Emily said, "What the hell just happened?"
"It seems that, my princes and princesses, we owe you an explanation," said Mirakella calmly.
Unconsciously, Emily held Eric's hand again while the kings and queens looked at each other. Before Celestia came forward and made a spell with her hand, she showed them the shape of the guardians, which Emily was supposed to be among; they were armoured, similar to knights, but they also looked distinguished. Their armours were not like any armour; the armour itself had many talismans that resembled complex spells dug into it; in addition to that, the material from which the costume was made seemed rare and durable; and their eyes were shining; they were a shiny grey. With those long spears they carried, which just didn't look like any spears.
King Victor said, "As most of you know, except for our new Luna, sixteen years ago, we had a kingdom called the Kingdom of the Guardians, and that kingdom was considered a peace-keeping kingdom among kingdoms, but because of the forces of darkness, that kingdom was wiped out completely, which put all of the rest of the kingdoms at risk."
King Victor paused for a moment, but Celestia said, "Please continue, Victor. They deserve to understand what's going on. It's their destiny, especially Emily."
Victor sighed and then continued, "When the forces of darkness took their course and wanted to exterminate the rest of the creatures, the gods were not supposed to interfere in this fight because it was between the supernatural, but some of them objected to that because the great war in the past almost destroyed the rest of the creatures, and they also had plans for the humans land."
King Victor stopped again, so Celestia advanced from them and continued, saying, "Therefore, the gods placed the guardians as the balance of the forces. The forces of darkness cannot tread on the land of any kingdom or any of us without stepping over the guardians. In return, the gods gave them other superpowers, but unfortunately, they did not have the time to learn or use them properly because the dark forces had many traitorous spies from within our lands and were able to get rid of the guardians, so they were cursed by the gods to turn into hideous beings, far from being us, and to our luck, we found that one of the guards was alive in another dimension, and so are you, Emily."
With every word Celestia said, Emily's heart beat faster, and her hold on Eric's hand tightened.
Then she stammered, "So, you, you mean, you, your fate is in my hands; my father and I, right?"
Celestia nodded, and then Miracela said sympathetically, "I'm afraid what you're saying is true, my dear."
After that, a moment of silence fell on everyone. None of them knew what to say. This was definitely too much for Emily.
Suddenly, Emily let go of Eric's hand and said, "I want to go home."
Miracela said, "As you wish, darling, rest as much as you want, and we'll talk later."
But Emily snapped, "I mean, I want to go to my own home, to my mother."
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment, while Eric's eyes clung to her, and Emily finally said, "If I'm going to die, I have to see my mom."
