Emily spent the night comfortably in her shared room with Sarah and Lydia. The room was spacious, and she felt safe having both of them with her. The view outside was very impressive.
When the three arrived at the academy, it was about ten o'clock. Emily heard many sounds of laughter and banter, but she did not see anyone. The rooms of the royal family were a little far from the dormitory of the rest of the students, but Emily was surprised by Lydia's words when she told her that their rooms were not completely different from the rest of the rooms of the students, but the royals were separated so that it would be easier for their parents to monitor them and because their training would be harder than the rest because some of them are crown princes and will rule one day, like her and Sarah.
Emily woke up early before the girls and completed packing the rest of her things, and after she took a shower, she woke up Sarah and Lydia to get ready. Emily was not excited to go out on a school day at all; she was very worried. She had a bad dream about her family, but her feelings were confused. Her mother literally wanted to abandon her before she came to this world. Will she accept her when she returns, Did they look for her in the first place?
The academy was adopting custom uniforms, not like the school Emily was at, where each student wore whatever he wanted. The uniforms had some drawings that indicated each faction, so Emily and Lydia's jackets had a flower decorated with a few golden sparks, while Sarah's jacket had some blue waves. Emily had some difficulty at first because the uniform contained a skirt, and she had never worn such stuff before, so seeing her legs in the mirror was something that made her nervous; she had never even worn shorts before.
Emily came out with Sarah and Lydia from the room, and she was hiding behind Sarah. The girls felt her tension, so they wanted to relieve her a little before the school day began while they headed to the big hall to have breakfast with everyone. Whether you are a royal or not, everyone ate together.
As they headed to the dining room, Sarah placed something resembling a blue bubble around them, which soon became invisible, and Emily asked, "What was that?"
Lydia shrugged and said, "I don't like these blood suckers sticking their ears into what I have to say, so I'd rather put something in there that will block the hearing of the supernatural around us."
Rose's face was astonished; she wasn't used to magic yet.
"So Emily," said Sarah, "let's start with the first faction, the wolves."
Lydia rolled her eyes boredly and said, "No offence, but they are literally like animals. You rarely find a human-like person among them. Their voice is very loud, and their humour is terrible."
Sarah reprimanded, "Lydia, don't say that."
"Seriously, look," said Lydia.
The three of them looked at the tables of wolves, where they were eating meat greedily while laughing loudly, pushing each other, and others trying to howl. Some of them were even eating raw meat.
A look of disgust was drawn on Emily's face, then Lydia said, "If my mate was among them, I would kill myself."
Both Emily and Sarah laughed at Lydia's expressions, and then Sarah said, "At the other corner, you'll find the healers. These are almost like witches, but their powers are only healing, related to organs and things like that, not offensive powers or anything like that."
Emily said, "They look so peaceful."
Sarah, "Wait, you haven't seen the fairies yet."
Lydia interrupted them, saying, "These are the ones who look like dead bodies. The vampires. Honestly, I don't know what their importance is. All factions have speed and skill, just like them. The only difference is that they suck blood, which is not a good thing anyway."
Emily laughed at Lydia's face and said, "You know, you look like that nasty aunt who talks s**t about everyone."
Sarah laughed and said to Emily, "She has an ex-vampire boyfriend, so she hates them so much."
Emile said with awareness, "Oh, I see."
"Shut up!" said Lydia, exasperated.
They both laughed, and then Emil said, "So what about the wolves?"
It was Sarah's turn to roll her eyes and then say, "When you meet Eric, you will hate all men, not just wolves."
"Who is Eric?" Emily said, she was puzzled.
Lydia "He's the alpha of wolves, that bossy i***t. Pity his mate; she'll see all the colours of hell."
"Anyway, move on; these are the fairies," said Sarah.
Emily, when she heard about fairies, expected to see little creatures with wings and cute big eyes, but they were very ordinary people; they were like nerds, actually, and Emily said, "Oh, they are pretty normal."
Sarah said, "They look like a beehive. All they care about is work. but to be honest, they are the smartest in the academy."
"Boooorrrring," Lydia said boredly.
Then Lida moved to the other side and said, "This box is like a mix. It has all kinds: angels, hybrids, elves, and dwarves. Their numbers are small, so they always sit together."
Then Sarah said, "This is my call."
Emily turned to her to find a group of supernatural beauties. Emily knew immediately that they were the Sirens; they are characterised by superior beauty, whether they are female or male. Emily kept looking at them in astonishment for a while while Sarah left them and joined her group, Emily did not get out of her thoughts except when Lydia snapped her fingers in front of her and said, "Wake up, this is our call too".
Emily looked at what Sarah was referring to and saw a large group of people, no less than wolves and vampires, then Lydia said proudly, "These are the covens of witches."
"Wow, but they look different," said Emily in fascination.
Some of them were turning to wave to Lydia, others were greeting her, while Lydia was doing the same to them, and most of them were looking at Emily with curiosity.
Sarah said, explaining to her, "Here, the magicians consist of twelve covens; some of them specialise in the magic of water, air, fire, and earth, and these are the four main ones, followed by the secondary ones, such as weather, lightning, and plants. Some of them learn to tame monsters, and some of them study drugs. Some of them combine the magic of two of the elements, and some of them have three. As for us, we control all the elements."
"Like an Avatar," Emily said automatically.
"I don't know what that means, but it looks cool, so yeah," said Lydia.
Then Lydia took Emily's hand and said, "Come on, I'll show you my gang."
Emily didn't notice that Lydia grabbed her hand because she was looking at those who were practising magic around her with fascination, and she hadn't moved yet, so Emily hit a girl's back when Lydia suddenly moved without her realising it.
"Sorry, I didn't notice," Emily said quickly.
While Lydia stopped to check on Emily, the girl looked at them with hatred, so Lydia cursed silently while Lydia made Emily move to stand behind her and then said, "She is with me, Fay, don't."
Fay's eyes suddenly turned red, as did the ends of her hair, and then she smiled slyly and said, "This will make it more fun."
Then she raised her hand to let out some flames, while Emily looked at them in astonishment, and then the crowd around them started saying, "Fight, fight, fight!"
Sarah came immediately and stood in the middle between them, then said, "Not on the first day, Lydia, please."
Lydia raised her hand and said, "I didn't do anything. I didn't even use my power."
Fay said, "Step aside, fish."
"Hey, watch your mouth, Flame," said Lydia angrily.
Some wolves joined the encouraging crowds, so Fay's enthusiasm flared up more, and she set fire to both her hands, and she was about to hit Sarah by it had it not been for Lydia pushing her away from the flames, so Fay took advantage of that opportunity and was about to do the same with Emily, and when Emily saw the fire, she screamed while she put her hands in front of her face with fear and closed her eyes, but she felt something blocking her vision, and the voices around them suddenly calmed down. Emily slowly opened her eyes to be met by a muscular back, but she sniffed with fear and took a step back when she saw the claws of the person standing in front of her protruding, then that melodious voice that made her shiver. And his words came like a thunderbolt to everyone, "Get your fuckin' filthy hands off my Mate."
