{Emily}
The following day, when we arrive, the mutts were already inside taking the grand tour. It was clear that Principle Goodwin had done this to avoid confrontations between vampires and mutts.
When the bell rang, all the vampires gathered out in the soccer field. The mutts went to class. The teachers were used to vampires ditching class but it seems that the mutts want to be in the teacher's good graces. But we couldn't lounge around for long and thirty-minutes later, we were piling back in.
"You have accounting now, right?" Jasmine asked as she chewed on some gum. She had a packet of spearmint so I was chewing on gum as well.
"Yeah, the teacher....What's his face?" I squinted mockingly and Jasmine laughed. "Don't know, don't care but he's not the easiest to face when I'm late."
"My English professor is strict as well but I ignore him," Jasmine commented as we arrived at the accounting class.
"You should pay attention," I say.
"I do!" she protested weakly and I give her a 'you can't lie to me' look. "I will start paying attention."
"Good." I wave goodbye and walk open the door of the classroom. The room was dark because of the presentation the professor was showing on the projector.
"Ah, Miss Le Doux, why so late?"
I ignore him when a sweet scent of citrus and English leather invade my senses. The sun shining in allows for the students to be visible a bit. In the back of the classroom was a guy with dark eyes. We locked eyes and my stomach lurched a bit. I could smell the sweet scent of his blood and I began craving him. Slowly, I licked my lips softly. A low growl that only keen ears could hear came from him.
"Miss Le Doux?" The teacher drew my attention.
"What is it now?" My tone was unwelcoming.
"Turn on the lights, please."
I flicked the lights on and had a clear room of the guy in the back. He had a leather jacket and heavily ripped jeans. His dark hair fell in his eyes softly and his lips were light pink. His emerald-green eyes stared at me for a moment before glancing away.
"Now what?" I leaned against the doorway.
"I'd like you to welcome our new students," he said. "Meet Orion and Isaac."
So his name is Orion...My eyes flickered at both of them as they whispered something to each other. My lips formed a thin line. "Why would I welcome the mutts?"
Snickers flew across the room and the teacher shushed them. "Miss Le Doux, I believe you know the way to the office."
"Don't worry. The secretaries and I are practically family," I chewed on my gum some more before spitting it out in the trash.
"Axel is waiting for you in the office already," he sighed.
I smirked. "What did he do this time?"
"That's what matters less."
"Tell me."
"No."
"I won't ask twice," I warned. He eventually succumbed to my pressure. An order from a pureblood is as good as law.
"I just gave a mutt a warm welcoming," Axel suddenly came behind me with his arm swinging onto my shoulders. He reeked of alcohol.
"Did you drink again?"
"Nope."
"Bullshit."
"Language, Emily," Mr. Cervantes corrected.
"Dumbass," I hissed and slammed my knee into Axel's stomach. Vampires were too tough to feel a kick like that. To him, it might've felt like a pinch. "You should think twice before drink again."
He leaned closer and whispered, "Jasmine broke up with me in the morning."
"She did?" I jerked as he fell asleep on my should. His body sagged against mine and he used me for support. "You're an i***t, Axel."
I tried shoving him away but he nuzzled his face in my neck. "Jasmine, don't leave.."
"I'm not Jasmine."
"Did you break up with me because I wanted to mark you?" he groaned and his hot breath hit my neck. He was causing a scene in front of the entire class. My eyes widened as his canines brushed my marking spot.
"You're f*****g wasted," I growl and slam him onto the brick wall. His body causes a small dent.
He squinted up at me. "Emily? Where's Jasmine?"
"We need to get that alcohol out of your system," I muttered and lie him down on the ground. He mumbles something incoherently and dozes off.
"Are you going to leave him there?" Mr. Cervanted raises his brows.
"Jasmine will be here next period," I sigh with my hands on my hips. "If anything, he's Jasmine's problem"
"You're avoiding the fact that this has been the fourth time he confused you with Jasmine when he's drunk" Mr. Cervantes points out. "I'll have to file a harassment report."
"Don't," I rubbed my temple in frustration. All I want to do is kick the living hell out of Axel for his theatrics. "I won't arrive late to your class for the rest of the year if you don't file a harassment report."
"That's better," Mr. Cervanted smiled. "Now have a seat next to Orion."
I trudged to the seat behind Orion, slamming my book open. "Damn you, Axel," I muttered.
"What are you mumbling?" Isaac looked amused with me.
"That doesn't concern you," I bite back.
"Orion, looks like this kitten has claws," Isaac laughs and fiddles with his pencil.
"Repeat what you said," I told him.
"What?"
"I dare you to repeat what you said." The classroom was filled with heavy tension but my eyes always drifted to Orion's neck. What I'd give for a taste of his blood. "I'm feeling rather thirsty...Are you willing to have your blood drained dry?"
"Not really" he surrenders annoyingly.
Somehow, my finger trails to Orion's neck. My thumb brushes above his pulse point. His tense form is hard to miss but no one was watching.
"How about you? Want to give me a taste?"
