Chapter 1

{Emily} "You can't overwork yourself by training before the sun comes up," my mother begins her morning scolding as usual.  "I told you that it's fine. Father wouldn't be too happy if I didn't keep up with my training." Once I mention father the atmosphere turns chilly. It isn't like he's dead but we aren't exactly the closest people.  "You're right," she sighs and hands me a glass of blood. "Drink up." I gulp it down immediately. It had been a while since my blood intake. Rebecca and Renee, my twin sisters, were also eager to receive their share.  "Are you driving them to school today?" I ask. There were occasional days where I would drive my sisters to school.  "Yes, so you don't have to worry about that today." "Great," I reply and grab a piece of toast, ruffling my sister's hair on the way. They protest in giggles and I head toward the enormous double-doors of the coven palace. "See you later!" The wind blew differently today as I mounted my motorcycle and put on my helmet. Middletown High School was only a mile away from my coven palace so I arrived quickly. Taking off my helmet, I notice the commotion in front of the school entrance. The principle appeared to be ready to faint at the abrupt shouts students were giving him. I had a serious case of helmet hair so I quickly ruffled it. Swiping some lip gloss on, I stared at my red eyes. Only pureblood vampires had red eyes. But I wasn't entirely a vampire. No one needed to know that. Thankfully, I matched the description of a pureblood perfectly. Pitch-black hair that ran to my waits and glowing red eyes. Jasmine's sneakers thudding on the parking lot alerts me. We were raised together in the same coven so we were as close as sisters. Her nose was scrunched up in distaste. "Our principle is going mad." "How so?" I ask and climb off my motorcycle, walking up to the crowd of people with her. "He's inviting the Dawn Howlers to our school." The name of that pack makes my blood freeze. It's been a name that haunts me. A reminder of my past. A reminder that I have fox blood coursing through my veins. Why are they joining an all-vampire Highschool anyway? "It seems they're not aware of the dangers we bring," I throw on a malicious grin.  "No, that's not it. Apparently, the Dawn Howlers got into another war with the Rogues and the HighSchool in their town was destroyed." "Oh, the joy," I roll my eyes. "There are plenty of HighSchools around their area. They just have to conform with one of those." The crowd parts in silence as they bow to Jasmine and I. Blood Eclipse members fall behind me as we surround the principle. "Principle Goodwin," I drawl icily. "Is it true that mutts are coming to our den?" "I have no choice," she explained roughly and I think that she's forgotten who she's talking to. I may be younger than her but I'm on a higher level than her. "The Board of Education has ruled that the Dawn Howlers will have to attend Middletown High. I don't think they are happy either." "And there is no way of changing this?" I raise my brows as my red eyes stare down at her. "No." "Very well." I turn back to the crowd and show off my pearly whites. "We'll just have to drive them out." A couple of powerful shouts erupt and my coven was satisfied with my response. The other covens present had to go along because we were the superiors. "Principle Goodwin, I hope you haven't forgotten the thirst we have. It's been a while since we've tasted werewolf blood." "I don't think we'll be able to control ourselves with the amazing scent," Jasmine folds her arms across her chest pointedly.  "It's too late. They're arriving tomorrow." ***
