"But dad are you sure that they don't mind?" She asked blinking eyes at her father who was marking the areas on the map for the patrol. She noticed that her mother rolled her eyes at that and mumbled something about her being suspicious about everything.
"Bambi everything is fine. If they had any problem they would have already contacted us. Don't you think?" Her father raised his head to look at her and she noticed that other Elders nodded their heads at that. it's just the feeling she was having since morning that something was going to be terrible.
"Ani why don't you run along and find your sister? I have to tell her something" Her mother interrupted before she could ask her father something or question him. She let out a groan and looked at her mother.
"But you can find yourself. It's not that hard mom" She sighed while facing her to which her mother huffed and finally stood up from the floor she was sitting in. She was trying to find some herbs in that mud and Aniya didn't understand how her mother had patience for that kind of things. It was so tiring to just look at them.
"I know honey. But it's evening and I get easily spoked. So just be a dear and find her for me" Her mother set with a straight face but Aniya knew better. Her mother was trying to send her away so she won't interrupter father and others while they were measuring the patrol areas. But she was concerned about the pack just as much her father and wanted to help them.
"I know what you are trying to do. I'm not a child mom. I can sense it when someone wants to get rid of me" She rolled her eyes and stood up from the rock she was sitting on. It was uncomfortably digging at her hips but she wanted to look over at the maps.
"Awe you are so smart. I don't say this but I am proud of you. Now run along" Her mother pointed at the direction to which Aniya sighed and sprinted, hearing her father chuckle. She did not even turn back to look at them and instead went deeper into the woods shouting for her sister but receive nothing in return.
Few more moments of wandering around she decided to get back and let out a screen looking at the pack house on fire.
Aniya gasped raising from bed and her hand immediately went towards her chest. It was beating like crazy and she was worried that at this rate she would have another panic attack. She looked towards her night stand and picked up the bottle of medicine and immediately swallowed two pills. She was trying to get better but it was increasingly difficult dealing with her nightmares.
She wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. She watched them burn, she watched her entire pack die in front of her eyes and she couldn't do anything. The nightmares keeps getting worse as she can hear them scream sometimes and she wakes up screaming as well.
Even after a year she couldn't process the incident that happened to her. The psychiatrist termed it as ptsd and give her some medicines for anxiety and panic attacks. They help the deal with that but still it was worse because even her wolf was suffering and there was no medicine for her wolf form.
She wiped the sweat rolling off her forehead and took deep breaths to focus on her breathing and nothing else. As soon as she felt like she could breathe again she laid down but sleep didn't come to her.

The next morning she woke up cranky and she wanted to sleep in instead of facing her bosses. She wouldn't have to face them anyways considering they don't even share the same floor but during the evaluation they will definitely pay her an visit and she was not looking forward to it at all.
After taking a long hot shower and trying to focus on the positives, which were almost nothing as she lost her entire family except for her brother in law and niece. She wanted to get her niece back from that man but it seemed as a few vanished into a thin air after that fire. She tried calling his number but she did not get any reply.
She let out a sigh and walked out of the washroom towards the wardrobe. For once she was glad that she save some money in her bank while working in her old town. It did come in handy, even though the flat was shabby it was something.
She chewed on her lips looking at the outfits in front of her, she didn't have too many. This month's paycheck would definitely resolve that. She picked a peach long tee and jeans to go along with her coat.
She glared at her white coat that had RT printed on them and continued with her day.

As soon as she stepped inside the hospital she could see decorations everywhere and it surprised her. Was there something she was forgetting? She thought.
Everyone seemed in a hurry but she couldn't understand what was going on. She walked towards the private elevators for the doctors and was surprised to see Evan standing there with a grumpy look on his face. She was not surprised about the grumpy look though.
As she called the last conversation she did not bother wishing him. Just then she felt a shoulder nudge at her and a shrill female voice ringing in her ears.
"Good morning Dr Romano. Can't believe we cross paths again. Fate!" The omega enthusiastically said. Aniya wanted to roll her eyes at that tone, because it was 9:00 a.m, too early for that enthusiasm.
Evan looked startled and he had a worried look on his face as if that Omega scared him. It was very amusing to see, Aniya folded her lips to control her smile at that.
"Oh Dr Rein. Good morning"
"Are you taking the elevator as well?" The omega asked.
Aniya wanted to snort at that. Why would he be standing there he was not taking the elevator? Admiring flowers in the vase? Checking the elevator? Moons sake some omegas are really dumb.
"I believe you are taking the elevators as well." He said with a sigh and Aniya raised her eyebrows at that. Wow he really didn't like that omega.
"Yes. I love fate"
"Or pure coincidences" Evan quickly coughed to cover it up but Aniya heard that.
"I just wanted to ask you about that-"
The omega, Dr Rein, was interrupted by Evan again and this time Evan looked at Aniya with a sharp look on his face. As if he had not sensed her presence already. She met his eyes just defiantly.
"Dr. Rein I believe you have not met our new pediatrician Dr. Martin. She is replacing our old pediatrician." Evan quickly said and then she patiently waited as Dr Rein turned towards her and wrinkled her nose. She was viewing her as competition already and Aniya wanted to clarify that she had no interest in her bosses.
"An omega huh. Everyone was talking about you. I'm Leila Reid, dentist." She nodded her head with a tight lipped smiled.
"Yeah but I don't see how me being omega matters anyways. I'm Aniya Martin"
"You're really different" She replied in a snarky tone to which Aniya was sure she was only attacking because of her omega instincts, thinking that Evan was hers and Aniya was trying to steal him. Well she got a news.
"Thanks. That's exactly my aim. Besides there is no fun in being same" Aniya replied and just then the elevated dinged and she got inside not waiting for either of them or looking back at their faces.
Evan was the first one to enter and then Leila followed his lead. The omega did not even look at her clearly she was threatened by her presence and was avoiding her. It did not matter anyways.
"So Evan can you please come back to my cabin?" She slurred while looking at him and Aniya noticed the way he tensed while pressing the buttons.
"Uh...Actually I would love to but I am showing Dr Martin around. And we have to discuss on this case. Raincheck?" He said in a stiff tone and Leila snapped her head to glare at Aniya.
"You know what Dr Romano. My thing can wait but whatever Dr Rein has got for you must be important." She innocently smiled. Well she was not going to let him escape from the suffer knowing that he did not like the presence of that omega.
"Are you sure?" He gritted his teeth while widening his eyes.
She nodded her head with a smile, "Absolutely. You kids have fun"
The elevator stopped at Anita's floor and she got off but she could feel his glare at the back of her head and as soon as the elevator closed she burst out laughing.
