The wait was unbearable, and not knowing what was taking place behind those doors only worsened Lenora’s anguish. Hazel’s pain was so palpable that Lenora could feel it alongside the sense of powerlessness that heavily saddled her. She was stranded, pacing about the outside of the labor, delivery and recovery section. Hazel’s water had broken on the drive to hospital.
The doctor had been rude in ordering her to stay out and ‘patiently’ wait as they wheeled Hazel away.
