Swaying my hips, I laughed and jumped around the room dancing as we blasted the music listening to some indie pop music that Hannah believed was the greatest music of all time.
"I think I'm a little bit, a little bit, a little bit in love with you!" She sang into my curling iron bobbing her head and running around wildly.
Dad was at the station late tonight and so Hannah is staying by dads request. All the while, Mrs. Kiro from the house across the street was downstairs snoring loudly.
She sleeps through anything but I'll never tell dad that. He still thinks I need a babysitter, and I'm practically nineteen.
Hannah laughed and dropped to the windowsill smiling at me, "I want food." She said breathing a bit heavy from all her running around.
Tossing the brush to my bed, I placed both hands on my hips, "We got frozen pizza." I said thoughtfully.
She smiled widely and nodded, "I gave work tomorrow morning so I can't eat too much. You know how bloated I get with Pizza." She said nervously.
I smirked and headed out the door as Hannah turned the music down.
We danced down the stairs and last the snoring and sleepy Mrs. Kiro. She was a sweet old lady, wears a hearing aid and thinks we're such good girls.
In fact most the town does.
I'm pretty sure they all think we're just a pair of goody good girls who are prudes and talk about church and kittens when we're alone.
"Alright, Luke Evans, Hugh Jackman and Chris Pine?" She asked as she poured us both a cup of orange juice spiking it with the small bottle of vodka from her purse.
Luke Evans all the way, "Have you not seen Dracula Untold? That guys s*x on legs. I choose Luke all the way." I said shaking my head that she'd even ask.
Hannah laughed and leaned forward as I pulled out the large frozen pizza.
Staring at the pizza tray she placed down, I opened the pizza box and pulled the wrapper off laying the pizza on the tray, "Tom Hardy, Brad Pitt and Henry Cavill?" I asked her smirking.
She furrowed her eyebrows "No fair, I'd do a four some right there if I could. One for each hole!" She said laughing and handing me my drink while she turned the oven on.
I grinned, "Pick three then." I c****d an eyebrow at her and she pondered it for a moment, "Paul Rudd." She began while holding one finger up.
Then she held a second finger up, "Dylan oBrien." She laughed as she said it and then calmed down before holding her third finger, "That guy from Batman." She tried to remember his name.
Not bad, "Christian Bale?" I asked her watching her moan and nod.
She leaned back into the counter, "You?" She eyed her drink.
I took a drink, "Luke Evans, Tom Hardy and Paul Wesley." I said proudly.
Then I popped the pizza in the oven, "If I get to choose a girl to add in, I choose Evangeline Lily. She is a babe!" I said laughing.
Hannah nodded, "Yeah her and Blake Lively." She said thoughtfully.
She bit her bottom lip, "Alright how about in town?" She asked while raising her brows in shock.
Oh god, "No, not this one again. We've done it so many times." I said sighing.
Hannah's blonde hair fell over her shoulder and she gave me a mischievous grin, "James, Roy and Steven still?" She sang out before taking a drink.
It's been James, Roy and Steven for the last three years. "I'm not changing it, I don't switch out my taste monthly like you." I said giving her a face.
She scrunched her face up, "It's so boring to stay with the same guy." She shook her head.
Rolling my eyes, I stared over at her as she watched me carefully, "How about your super sexy bad boy neighbor?" She asked grinning.
Ha!
"You couldn't pay me enough to deal with that devil." I said shaking my head in annoyance of his existence.
She shrugged "Yeah he's immature and stupid but he's hot, and his body is really nice." She said stressing the word 'really'.
I get it.
Nodding in agreement, I laughed low, "He's also a pain in the ass." I said quietly.
Hannah sighed, "You suck the joy out of my s*x dreams." She muttered.
Yeah, yeah.
I drank my drink and we talked about this cute guy at her work named Brenton. Apparently the guys super down to earth and finds her breath taking.
After convincing her not to bone the guy while we ate our pizza, I saved dad three slices and put them in the fridge and said bye to Hannah who went home.
That left me and Mrs. Kiro alone tonight.
I headed up the stairs to my room picking up the mess from Hannah trying on all my clothes and just being in my room. She's a walking tornado.
Hanging up the last of my dresses, I took the curling iron to the small dresser tossing it in with the brush and heading out my room to the bathroom brushing my teeth and washing my face.
Tonight was a normal Friday night.
I headed back to the room and pulled off my shirt and jeans.
I could feel his stare on me, I wanted to look, to give him a scowl or scolding look of disgust but instead I ignored it and pulled on a camisole and a pair of pajama shorts.
Grabbing one of my books off the bed, I dared a look out the window to see him stripping down to his boxers.
A loud cry came from his house, it wasn't loud enough that the rest of the neighborhood could hear but it was loud.
Ace stared at the door and hurried out the room.
I pulled on my shoes and headed out the house to his home pushing the front door open.
My eyes took in the scene.
If I hadn't just seen Ace upstairs, I swear I'd be sure he just killed his own father.
Ace held the knife in his hand, his knees on the floor with the blood soaking into them. His eyes wide and red, he was panicking. "Ace?" I asked softly.
He stared up at me and then let go of the knife, "I didn't do it." He said reflexively.
I nodded, "I know." I relied and dialed my dad.
He picked up on the second ring, "Dad, you have to come to the Millers house. Mr Miller is bleeding out on the floor and I think he's dead." I said trying to hold back a scream of fear.
My hands were shaky, "Katie? Where's Ace?" He asked nervously as he shouted for all the cops to get in and drive to us.
I stared up at Ace, my eyes running to his shocked expression and numb look, "Right here." I said quietly.
Dad told me to get out and go home and locked the doors.
I didn't listen though, I just said okay and hung up.
Moving toward Mr. Miller, I ran a hand over his neck to feel for a pulse, nothing.
Ace stood and started breathing heavy as the sounds of the sirens grew. His eyes moved to me and his chest rose and fell quick. Don't you dare run you i***t.
And just like that, he went running.
Fucking hell.
I sighed and ran my hand through my hair watching him run out the backyard.
He didn't do it, but now that he ran it's going to look very suspicious.
Fucking hell.
The cops were outside and they called out from the megaphone "Ace Miller, step out of the home slowly with your hands behind your head!" Anderson said.
Putting my hands behind my head, I stared at the body dead and bleeding out.
God Ace, why did you run you dumbass?!
I headed out the front door and dad shouted for all of them to put their guns down.
Going over to him, I felt my fear grow, "He's not inside. He went running when he heard the sirens but dad he didn't do it." I said shaking my head.
Dad eyed me carefully and I watched him think on it for a while, "He ran Katie, that's suspicious." He said furrowing his eyebrows.
Yeah, "I know. Just trust me, don't shoot if he gets hostile. He's scared, but he didn't do it." I said gripping his arm hoping he'll listen.
He nodded and called for them to retrieve Ace Miller without weapons or harming him.
Idiot should've stayed.
