Avery's POV

I really want to know about what happened to her and who the father of the baby is. It doesn't matter though, I'll still love her and that baby as if it's my own. 

"Daisy. This baby will be protected and welcomed into this pack. He or she will be treated as if it was my own child. I know it's hard to believe, but please give this, us, a chance." 

She looks at me with tear filled eyes. Oh no, did I say something wrong? I'm brought out of my thoughts when I feel a pair of soft lips against my own. I don't waste a single second, and capture hers with my own. I have waited for this moment all my life. My first kiss with my beautiful mate. I lightly bite her lower lip to grant me access and she obliges. We explore each others mouth with our tongues and I love her taste. 

The smell of her arousal is driving me crazy and I pull apart from her. "If we don't stop, I won't be able to control my wolf much longer. We both want you, but will wait until you are ready." 

"Okay." She smiles at me. "Okay?" I question her, not sure what she is agreeing to. "I want to give this wolf life, and you, a chance." 

"You have no idea how happy you just made me!" I pick her up and spin her around slowly in my arms. She starts to giggle and it is the most angelic sound I have ever heard. 

"Can I ask you a personal question?" She shifts on her feet, looking uncomfortable, yet nods her head. "Have you been to a doctor since you've been pregnant?" She looks down at the floor and whispers, "No." As if she is ashamed. 

I gently tilt her chin up to look at me. "May I take you to our pack doctor? Just for a check up?" She agrees and I lead her to the office of the head OBGYN doctor, Lisa. 

I knock on the door and she bows her head when she sees that it is me. "Good afternoon, Alpha, Luna. What may I help you with today?"

I look at Daisy and she begins to tell the doctor about her pregnancy and lack of medical care. "Well, let's take care of that, shall we?" She leads Daisy to a private room and asks her to undress and put a hospital gown on. "Done!" We hear Daisy call out from the room. Lisa opens the door and we both walk in. She clears her throat and turns to Daisy. "I'm going to do a full exam before doing an ultrasound." I get the hint and leave the room. 

I pace back and fourth for who knows how long. Finally, the doctor steps out and tells me that Daisy is asking for me. I feel my heart swell at the fact that she wants me with her during this important time in her life. "Before I begin the ultrasound, would you like to know the gender of the baby?" 

It's quiet for a second, then Daisy says yes. She then proceeds to put gel on her belly and turns a monitor on next to the table. It doesn't take long before we see the baby on the screen. I know it's not mine, but I feel so much joy looking at this future child of ours. Ours. I hope she let's the baby call me dad or something of that sort. The room is silent except for the sound of the heartbeat. I reach for Daisy's hand and she squeezes it. "Congratulations, it's a healthy baby girl." The smile and tears on her face is something I want to mentally remember forever. 

Doctor Lisa prints out a couple of pictures for us to keep and we then leave the room to allow Daisy to get dressed. "Alpha, there's something I need to discuss with you." s**t. This sounds serious. She sits me down in her office and takes a deep breath. "I shouldn't be telling you this, but I think it's important you know. Especially considering that Daisy is human." 

"She will be dressed soon. Please, just tell me what it is."

"The baby is due any day now." 

"How? Humans are pregnant for 9 months before delivery. She's only 6 months."

"Yes, but the baby she is carrying is a wolf."

I stormed out of the office after hearing that and waited for Daisy. How the hell is this possible? What fucker did this to her? I wear tear his head off his body. It's against the law to mate with another werewolf's mate, especially an alpha's. My blood is boiling at this new information. I really need her to tell me who did this more than ever. How do I even approach the subject though? 

"You okay?" I hadn't notice the door open and the beauty standing in front of me. I was so lost in my thoughts. 

"No, but I will be." She seemed upset with my response. "Can we go home and talk? It's important." She grabs my hand and with a wave goodbye to Lisa, we head back to the packhouse. I bring her up to my floor and lead her into the living room. "Would you like anything to drink?" I ask, as I start brewing coffee. "Water, please." I bring the glass of water and my cup over; sitting beside her on the couch. 

"I never wanted to pressure you into talking about your past, but I need to know who the biological father is." She looked enraged. "Why? I thought you said you wanted me and the baby regardless?!" I place my hand on her face and sparks ignite. Caressing her, I tell her. "I will always want you and the baby. I'm only asking you this because the father is also a wolf. You can go into labor any day now." She looked nothing but surprised at this. She quickly went from anger to being upset. My heart ached seeing her like this.
