Briar pov She woke up to her alarm the next day feeling hung over. Briar wasn’t able to sleep until two in the morning due to her crying and the fact that her brain just wouldn’t shut off. Nicole had passed out into the second episode they started watching while Briar was up the entire night. She eventually nodded off around three or four, but unfortunately didn’t stay asleep long. The time read six in the morning and Briar simply decided to wake up for the day, as she had to have multiple alarms for her to wake up, it’s not like she was sleeping anyway. Briar got up and quickly wrote a note for Nicole before slipping on her shoes. She returned to her small home only to find two small pieces of paper attached between the screen door and the main door. Briar quickly shoved them in her purse and went inside. She would check on them later. Briar checked the time on her phone and realized that she only had twenty minutes to get ready for work. She made herself a pot of coffee before quickly throwing on a pencil skirt and blouse before throwing her hair up and frantically searching for matching flats. Briar only had time for a quick check in the mirror and adding her cream and sugar to her coffee before dashing off to work. Thankfully she had a giant travel mug otherwise she would not be surviving the day with no caffeine. Briar did an inside fist pump at arriving to work on time. Work was hectic as Ashley was preparing for a big court case at the end of the month. Ashley mainly worked with family law and was able to bring in big clients. This client was a stay at home mom for ten years and the husband cheated on her. The husband created a business after marriage and wanted the entirety of the business to himself. The wife wanted fifty percent so she hired Ashley. The court date was coming to a close so Briar spent most of her days combing over phone records, social media accounts, and other documents to prove not only the affair but the clients role in the business. That woman definitely earned the shares Of the business and Briar had every intention of proving it. She spent the morning working hard, despite the fact she was dragging ass from no sleep. Briar was sitting down to lunch in the small break room when she finally pulled out the papers that were in her door this morning. She soon realized they were letters, one was in her handwriting. The other was addressed to her. Briar let out a sigh as she realized one of her brothers wrote her a letter and she had a feeling which one it was. Rose, I’m sorry for coming down here and disturbing your life. Despite what you may think, I have always loved you. Read your letters. I will take our brothers back home to Tennessee and you will never hear from us again. Live your best life. Briar didn’t finish the letter before she tore them both to shreds and they both went in the trash. She knew the letter was from Eric, but she was done hearing the excuses. She was done with it all. Briar finished out her day and returned home. She was done being walked on by her family. … Briar spent the rest of her day at work and developed a bad headache from the lack of sleep. She was definitely looking forward to laying down in her big bed. The sight on her porch brought her up short, Axel Hart was sitting on her porch swing. Briar continued onto her house completely ignoring him. It was the only option she had. “I made sure your brothers left town sweetness,” his deep voice broke the silence. “Thank you,” she responded as she opened the lock on her door and started to open it. “You can’t ignore me forever, your my women now.” Briar had a short temper and he was beginning to irritate her. “Yes I can. I never agreed to be yours,” Briar let out a frustrated sigh. “You don’t know what you did, do you?” Axel asked as he stood up. She did her best to ignore the way he towered over her even at a distance. “What are you talking about?” Briar asked as he approached her. “You as an old lady of the Ghost MC slept with their rivals President.” “That was the idea!” She screamed angered. “Yeah and we were brawling over you, I hate to tell you sweetness you will have to choose between us,” his voice flitted in her ear causing wetness to flood her. “I don’t want either one of you. I don’t want to be part of that lifestyle, I never did!” “Your body says different,” Axel chuckled and nipped her neck and she fought a moan. “My body isn’t as smart as my brain,” she responded hoarsely. “Briar,” he pulled back and looked at her seriously. “You did something that will need protection from. You will have to choose, I will give you a week.” Axel gave her a quick kiss before stalking off. God she hated ultimatums and she hated arrogant men. Briar stalked into her house in a huff. Liam pov The situation was bad. He had to fix it. Not only did Magnet loose his old lady, but his old lady screwed a rival club member. Then he got beaten up by a rival Prez. In public. It was bad, Liam had lost the respect of his men. He was on the verge of not only loosing his status of President, but the entire club as well. Liam knew it was bad when his father called him back home to “talk.” Liam walked up to his parents house and his mother opened the door. “How bad?” He asked his mother and she just remained silent. It was bad. Liam for the first time in a long time, he looked at his mother. Her face was haggard and Liam remembered all the times he caught his father with a club girl. How that must of affected his mother. “They are in the kitchen,” that was all his mother told him. He walked into the kitchen and his heart fell into his stomach. His father, grandfather, and his dads VP was sitting at the kitchen table. “Sit son,” his father told him with his hands on his cane. Liam sat at his seat on the kitchen table and waited for the firing squad. “So I’ve heard some disturbing stories about what has been happening within the club with you son,” his father told him. “Yes sir,” Liam immediately responded. “I told you Magnet that woman wasn’t any good and now look where you are,” his fathers VP, who was still involved in the club spoke up. Reach did not like Rose the second he brought her around. Liam never could figure out why. Liam didn’t respond to Reach’s comments, but his father continued to talk. “You have a real problem here, you look weak and thus the club looks weak. You need to get the club as well as your old lady in line. Unless you want to remove her,” his father said the comment offhandedly. “No father! We don’t do that, we never have!” “Well she wasn’t loyal to the club,” Reach defended his father’s decision. “She never was my official old lady,” he defended Rose. “Of course she was!” Reach yelled. “No she wasn’t, she never wore my patch.” “So she was just some one you knocked up then?” His father asked shrewdly. “Fine, she was my woman, but-“ “No, buts! Get her back and the next time you cheat on her-“ “I don’t condone cheating on our women, I never have,” his grandfather interrupted and silenced the whole room. “It always brought me and your mother shame to know that you couldn’t be loyal to your wife son. I hate to see you repeating your fathers mistakes.” His grandfather looked to him, “I was loyal to your grandmother until the day she died. When I started this club it wasn’t about getting laid. This MC was about straying just above the law and making money. I hate what you made it son.” His grandfather gave his dad a disgusted look. “Liam get your young woman back and stay loyal to her, maybe your father will learn from you.” His grandfather stood up from the table and his mother rushed into help him. My grandfather instead simply hugged my mom, which caused her to cry and the two of them walked out together. “Dad,” he started when the door shut. “I’ll take care of the club, but I’m done cheating on Rose. I won’t be like you, my old lady doesn’t deserve that.” He got up and exited the bathroom, his one regret was that he didn’t stand up to the club expectations sooner.
