Katie nodded and took the drawing monitor. "Cool. Now you just added ideas on my future endeavors in life." She grinned before making her way to a cushioned sofa inside Nate's office. "You can stay at the private residence on the top floors if you want while you're working. It'll be much comfortable." Nate suggested to her. Katie shook her head. "No, I'll stay here. I can go there later. I'm interning, I'm not a freelancer, so I have to do my time." She said with a wink. "Fine. Whatever you want." Nate said before he went back to work . "You're the best boss ever. I'll put it in a plaque." Nate just shook his head. "Brat." Katie grinned. And then she thought, she missed this. Like, on her previous life, she was so busy she could barely even hang out with Nate like this. Now she realized that on her previous life, she was more focused on her career. She was always so busy, and for what? So she'll be duped, cheated on and die a sad and treacherous death? Maybe this second chance in life thing was a great thing, really. It made Katie realized how she forgot these interactions with the important people in her life. How come she lose communication with the best people in her life while she became close with those who wanted to hurt her? In the end, being on the pedestal, famous and sought after wasn't really a good thing. It alienated her from those people who really loves her and it made her vulnerable to those who has ill intention to her. She swear she won't have the same mistake twice. She'll be a fool if she did. From now on, she won't let other people contradict her wants and wishes. She'll work and live for herself, in her own pace, and not because others demanded it for her. Katie looked at Nate the way someone who saw someone else again after a very long time. Well, that's true, on her previous life, like Sara, she barely have time to hang out and meet with Nate, since she was so busy globe-trotting for her next new project. "Hey, Nate." She called him. "Hmn.. " "I really missed you. And just to let you know, besides my family, you're one of the most important and closest person to me, ever. So don't you forget that. And thank you for always looking out for me and taking care of me." Katie said sincerely and wistfully. She never get a chance to say this to Nate before. "You're welcome, Katie belle. And you know how precious you are to me, too." Nate said sincerely. "And as much as I appreciate this heart to heart moment between us, but why are we suddenly having this hallmark moment. You even look like you're about to cry. Is something wrong?" he asked worriedly. Oh, Nate, so sweet. Katie was so lucky to have met him when they were still children and became such great friends like two peas in a pod. How dare she squander those precious friendship away in exchange for shallow ones. She was a stupid fool. She really deserves to have a wake up call, even if it means falling down to death. "Nothing's wrong." Katie denied. "I just want to suddenly let you know that. So you know that I appreciate you and I'm thankful you're part of my life." Then a single tear fell from her eyes. Katie didn't even have time to prevent it from falling. Now she was becoming emotional. Well, duh, dying the first time could do that to you. She was now appreciating all the good things she has in her life that she just took for granted before. "Hey, what's wrong?" Nate was suddenly walking towards where she was sitting, he sounded and looked worried Katie shook her head. She accepted the monogrammed handkerchief that Nate gave her. "Thank you." She said before reasong out. Nate was already sitting next to her and holding one of her hands to comfort her. Like giving her strength. "Nothing's really wrong. I was being emotional. I feel like after the cruel nightmare I had, I suddenly appreciate everything that's so great in my life. Having great family, good friends and a peaceful and happy life. You know. Like everyone was so busy with everything, wanting everything, but if you step back and think, what matters most is that you're loved, appreciated, happy, healthy and has good people around you. I'm that lucky so now I'm just letting you know I appreciate you as one of those good people in my life. Others don't even have one." Then Katie shook her head. "I'm sorry if I'm being weird or dramatic. Maybe I'm gonna have my period soon so my hormones are being imbalance." She reasoned out. "No, no, Katie belle, it's alright. I know what you mean. Since the reason why my parents decided to go back to Japan is to appreciate what they have together and stay away from the limelight and busy life. That was why I took over as a CEO here, even if my mother can still operate this business. And soon my brother will take over the hotel chain businesses, with my assistance, of course. Like you said, after everything was said and done, what was still important and precious is to be happy, healthy, complete and loved. And my parents loved each other, they worked hard for the luxury they have, and now it's time for them to step back and relax and just enjoy life together." Nate explained. "So, in a way, I get what you mean. And when a time came you wanna share this heart to heart talk again, then go ahead and do not worry, you're welcome and free to express whatever you feel. It's healthy that way." Katie smiled. "Hmn.. thank you Dr. Nate. Now I wonder why you didn't thought of becoming a psychiatrist... your calming charm and facade with such handsome face will surely put everyone at ease and comforted." She teased to lightened the moment once again. "You're really a brat." Nate shook his head then grinned as he started tickling her. Katie screamed while laughing. "Stoppppp... " Nate was tickling her sides and the back of her neck. "Ahahahahahahah!!!" Nate kept on tickling her. "I'm hahaha gonna get back hahaha at you!!! Ahahaha!!!" Katie declared while laughing. She was starting to raised her leg to kick Nate. They didn't even realized they both now laid on the couch and busy tickling and laughing. That was why they didn't realize or heard when the door opened. "Am I interrupting something?" a clear, manly and cold sounding voice came from the vicinity of the door. Nate and Katie stopped and then both looked up at the direction of the door at the same time. They saw an upside down persons near the door way. Wrong, they were the ones looking from the upside down vantage. Nate and Katie both sober up and quickly arranged themselves properly. "Luke, I never expect to see you this early." Nate said to the new comer. "I have a sudden urgent matter to attend to later, so I decided to just visit you today, but it seems... " then Luke looked at Katie. Katie almost stopped breathing. That piercing dark eyes. So hypnotizing! Why does she suddenly feel like she was a mischievous brat that did something wrong??? And hello, this Luke guy was so handsome!!! Was he a celebrity? How come she never knew about him from before?
