Chapter 1 - Discovered - Katie was all smiles while making her way to the lobby of one of the famous and high class hotel. She decided to have a surprise visit to her famous actor fiance, Charlie Choi. Charlie was currently on a shoot location for his new movie project. If she remembered correctly, he was on a lead role of a genius detective who used to be an assassin. So it was not a surprise to Katie if a lot of fans are waiting and camping outside the hotel. And it's also not a shock to learn that there's some fans with a backing or influence who can wait inside the hotel lobby, together with the gossip photographers and reporters waiting to get a sight of Charlie (for the fans) and for celebrities (for the photographers and reporters). And it was not a surprise when suddenly there's a cacophony of voices suddenly calling out her name and followed by flashes and clicking from phone to professional cameras. "Katie! Please look here! " "Katie are you here to meet with Charlie? can you answer some questions?? " Katie...! " "Katie, how's the wedding preparation coming along? " "Katie is it that you're already expecting? " Katie frowned at the last questions coming from the reporter. How could that happen? When she and Charlie are always busy with work. And if she is really expecting, she'd definitely cut some time off from her busy schedule to relax. So that's totally impossible. Katie and Charlie are always busy, that was why even in the midst of their upcoming nuptials, they barely saw each other. It was to appease their companies, in exchange for taking a long time off during their honeymoon, which they plan to tour Europe, so they're finishing most of their commitments while they still can, so that even if they're gone for a long while, fans won't missed them due to a lot of movie, series and show guestings that they pre recorded. It was not a surprise to Katie that she'll hear those kinds of speculations. As one of the top, A-list celebrity actress with various advertising and modeling project, it won't be a surprise if people speculate about Katie Park. It was not new to her, being in the limelight for almost several years now, starting from when she was still in college. But it doesn't mean that she like hearing their wrong speculations about her. The next Katie heard were the fans of Charlie talking about her. "That's Katie... " "She's so pretty. " one fan said wistfully. "She and Charlie are perfect for each other." Another said with a dreamy sigh. "Yeah, If she's not pretty, popular and one of the top actress in the country, I doubt Charlie will notice her." one girl said with jealousy. "Hey, she'll hear you." The bitter girl's friend said. Katie rolled her eyes. Good thing she was wearing her shades, or they'll see her eye rolling. 'What bitter pill you swallow girl, for you to soir grape?' She internally monologue as she continued walking without looking at whoever said that. Since Katie was a constant visitor of Charlie whenever she has a free time so it was not a surprise anymore if she can just come and go whenever she pleases. She already knew that Charlie was staying at one of the VIP suite in the hotel. That was why the receptionist didn't even need to confirm her identity since she was a constant guest of Charlie while he was staying here. The woman just handed the extra electronic card to Katie with a smile. "Have a good day, ma'am." The receptionist said with a smile. She was an obvious fan of Katie. She can tell with the look of admiration and twinkle in her eye. "Thank you. Have a nice day too." Katie said with a smile before walking towards where tha elevator for the VIP guests was. Katie swiped the card the receptionist gave her. The only people who can access the VIP elevator were those who have the VIP electronic card Katie was holding now. When the elevator opened and Katie stepped inside, a few of her bodyguards stayed at the lobby, standing at the two sides of the elevator like guardians. A few followed her up with her assistant. The reason why she can just strolled in the hotel without worry about the fans and reporters was because she has her entourage of bodyguards with her. They can stop anyone who tries to get near her with ill intent. As one of a popular A-list celebrity who's engaged to be married in two weeks to one of the popular A-list actor, Charlie Choi, it was not a surprise that some obsessive and bitter fans will try to make a noise on social media, on letter, or even in person. That's why Katie and Charlie always had bodyguards with them. Katie was looking forward to her married life. Once they have a family, she planned on slowly taking less project as an actress. She'll probably focus more on producing and directing. She even plan on focusing more on her fashion and make up line company. She's not getting any younger. A few more years and she'll be on her thirties, and fresh new face of artiste will emerge. She doesn't plan on being an actress forever. Katie rather want to retire from acting while she was at the peak of her career, and then pursue her other business venture. Including on starting her own entertainment company. She believes that she'll have more opportunities that way. "We're here. " Katie's assistant said before the ding of the elevator chimed. "Don't forget that you only have 30 minutes to meet with Charlie today. You have a photoshoot and an interview around 3pm onwards, that's why we need at least an hour before for hair and make up. The clothes will be provided by the magazine who'll interview you. And then you and Charlie will later meet in the evening for a gala party for a cost. We have to be there at least half an hour before 7pm. I'll make sure that your make up artist and hair dresser are at your house 3 hoirs before we leave." Her assistant still reminded her. "Don't worry about it. I'm not forgetting them. Since we're already near the vicinity of Charlie's hotel, so why not give him a surprise visit." Katie declared with a smile as she walked towards on the corridors where the few suites of VIP guests were. "I'm just reminding you again. I know how much you and Charlie both missed each other since your schedules are all so hectic. "I'm so glad you're always with me. I don't know I'll do without you constantly reminding me of everything." "You'll probably be miserable and unorganize, that's for sure. " Elaine, Katie's assistant said with a grin. "Yeah. That's right. I'll probably be running around like a chicken with her heads cutt off." Katie agreed with a laugh. She was still laughing when she reached her destination door. Katie swiped the card without preamble and opened the door to the VIP suite. "Charlie, sweetie, I'm here. Surprised!" She declared with a grin. Then she stopped with a shocked look on her face. All smiles gone, her face paling and eyes so round. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Elaine gasped in shocked. While the remaining bodyguards stayed in their professional expression but after seeing what was in tableu, they decided to avert their gazes. While Katie couldn't take her burning eyes of anger and betrayal off them.
