KALEB I carried Demi back into the house and slammed the door behind me. I placed her on the couch. Worry flooded every fiber of my being as I tried to get her to wake up frantically. Shadow paces in my head, letting out a whimper as he comes forth to see her. We can’t feel her wolf. I opened a mind link to Alpha Troy. “I need help,” I blurt out, “Rogues were here; they attacked us. We killed them, but Demi is hurt.” “What?” roared Alpha Troy through the mind link. I explained what had happened. I explained about the knife and the attack with the rogues. Something was off with the attack, but I couldn’t figure out why, even though my mind wouldn’t let me go that far back. I looked down at Demi. Do I take out the knife? My mind was racing, trying to piece together what I needed
