KALEB Alpha Troy, Elias, and I sat in the sitting room for what felt like hours. A few seconds later, a door opened somewhere upstairs, and movement came. I could feel Shadow move in my head, but he never came close. He was on high alert. I stood up and looked at the stairs, where Rowan and the pack doctor walked down. They came over to us as the doctor sighed. “I managed to remove the knife from her shoulder,” he said, looking between us, and his eyes stayed on me. “She was lucky it didn’t go any deeper, or there would have been more issues to deal with.” I felt my heart ache. “How is she?” asked Alpha Troy.
