The rest of dinner was mostly silent. I could feel Cain's eyes on me the entire time, but I never looked at him. I was still shocked that the mate bond wasn't as strong as it was the first time around. I guess that was what the Moon Goddess meant when she said she was giving me the chance to choose, which meant there must be another mate out there somewhere. I knew I wasn't going to be with Cain, and honestly, I didn't think I wanted whoever the other person was. The Moon Goddess had chosen for me. Cain was evil, and whoever the other guy was could be evil
