(Ghari’s POV)
After Ciel escaped with Mia, Kerwyn and I walked toward the room Ciel told us that Tre and Aziel were holding Alincdor. The door to our right opened and out came Tre. He saw us and tried to run. Kerwyn used his ice power to freeze him mid-run.
“Why have you betrayed us?”, I yelled in his face. He tried to use magic on us but Ker was faster and froze his arms back against the wall.
“I hate you and your family. Can’t you see the power you hold is wasted on your kind.”, he spat back.
“Strong words for someone working with a human and a demon dragon.”, I said punching him in the face.
He spits blood then vomited. What a weakling. “I’ll ask you one more time, why have you betrayed us?”
Before he can answer the door behind us opens and out steps, the one I can assume is Aziel. His red dragon scales on full display. His demon horns protruding from his skull. It was exactly as I pictured him even though I had never seen him in the flesh.
“Run, get out here, they know of us!”, yelled Tre to the demon dragon. I turned on my heel to capture him but as I released my wind blades they only hit the far wall.
“f**k, f**k, f**k!!! Where the f**k did he go!” Turning my rage onto Tre I released more wind blades in his direction. The tiny blades broke the ice into splinters.
“Prince, stop!!! Tre is gone and so is Aziel. We need to find Alincdor and meet up with your father and the army.”, Kerwyn said freezing my hands. I took a breath in frustration and saw that I should have impaled Tre but there was no one there. In my rage, I broke him free and he must’ve used the distraction to portal out of the cabin.
“Where did they go?”, I asked Kerwyn while I tried to regain my composure. My father is not going to like this. He may punish me for losing two high-ranking criminals.
“I can only imagine they went back to the underworld or to another hideout. They know, we know, they are involved and will not show themselves to us again so easily.”
I punch the wall nearest me and walk back towards the room where Aziel had stepped out of.
(Kerwyn’s POV)
I opened my eyes and found myself in a room surrounded by stone. I could hear a faint sound in the distance and hoped it was the prince or one of the others. I shook the fog from my mind and attempted to use my magic. Nothing happened at first. Then my ice bounced off the stone and fizzled out. f**k must be iron in the stone. If there’s iron in the walls the bars must have it too. I sat in the middle of the small room meditating and trying to regain my ability to mind-call.
Some time passed and again I heard the sound. It sounded like someone was calling for me, so I stood up and went to the door. I was hearing correctly it was my prince. I made contact with him and we discussed what to do to get out of here. It turned out Cahir was on the outside and would raven for help.
Some time passed and we were making noise when the warlock, Ciel came down. Luckily he was on our side and helped us out the cells. Once upstairs he pointed us in the direction of Tre and Aziel then he escaped with Mia. She was a pretty young thing from the show. I could see that Ghari was attracted to her. I’d have to ask him about her once this was over.
We ran into Tre first and I froze his lower body. When he attempted to use his hands against us I froze those too. Unfortunately, when Ghari lost his temper over losing Aziel he turned on Tre. I had to take cover so that his wind blades wouldn’t hurt me in the process. This caused the ice holding Tre to break and the coward used his magic to haul ass.
“Where did they go?”, asked Ghari while trying to compose himself.
“I can only guess they went back to the underworld or another meeting place. I’m sure they are aware we will be looking for them so they won’t show themselves too easily.”
I could see the wheels of frustration turning in Ghari’s mind as he walked toward the door that Aziel had come from.
Luckily the door was unlocked and we entered without effort. The room smelled of old blood, body fluids, and unbathed men. As we entered we saw a portal closing, there was one other creature here but we couldn’t tell who. Looking to the middle of the room we saw Alincdor. He was strapped to a wooden torture table. There was a metal device latched to his manhood and dried tear streaks on his face.
Ghari walked up to his face and confirmed it was Alincdor. He was breathing but not conscious.
“Remove the device and unstrap him. Make sure to tie his hands and feet together then take him with you to meet up with King Father.”, Ghari commanded then walked out.
(Mia’s POV)
Ciel shifted beside me and then moved away from me. “What’s wrong Ciel?”, I asked confused by his action.
“Nothing, Mia. I’m going to go check with Cahir if there’s any news. You rest. I’ll be back shortly.”
He walked over to where Cahir and Mitchell had been keeping watch over the cabin. Mitchell then walked back towards me. “Would you like some water, Miss?”, he asked as he sat beside me on a fallen tree.
I nodded yes and he handed me a bottle that he pulled out of his cloak. Surprisingly it was cold and refreshing. After drinking most of it, I handed it back and he replaced it in his cloak. He remained silent after that, always glancing at the tree line and beyond.
The light of the moon was starting to rain through the tree canopy and we had yet to hear or see movement from the cabin. I was about to go ask Ciel about what to do next when a gust of wind lifted the surrounding leaves and formed an upright circle in between two large trees. Scared and confused I hid behind Mitchell and yelled for Ciel.
With little knowledge of magic, I prayed that nothing bad was about to happen and wished with all my might I was with Rayna and Marina instead of in this mess. They must be worried sick about me. Hopefully, Ciel mind-called them to let them know he had me safe. The sound of thunder drew my attention back to the circled leaves.
There stood a very handsome, older version of Ghari and a very angel-like petite female. Behind them stood a large group of Royal Guards. These guards though looked nothing like the ones that would come to the show. This must be the royal army. Their armor was gold and in the moonlight, they looked like stars. The first two must be Ghari’s parents but why were they here and how did they get here?
As if hearing my thoughts, Mitchell knelt down and addressed them, “My King and my Queen. Thank you for aiding us.”
They nodded to him then turned their attention to me. “Child do not be afraid. We are King Erman Browne and Queen Sanjula Browne of the Eastern Kingdom of Dragonia and we are here to help you. Now step from behind Mitch and let us look at you.”
The queen extended her hands to me and I slowly approached her. Mitchell stood and whistled for Cahir. I could see both Ciel and Cahir come running. Ciel stopped just short of me and ignore the king and queen. “Are you okay, Mia?”
I nodded. Then he turned toward the royals and bowed shortly. He stepped to my right and Cahir came to kiss his mother’s cheek.
“King father, mother Queen, this is Mia and Ciel. My brother has yet to tell us if he needs us but I think we should use our element of surprise and go help him.”
The king nodded and motioned his army to follow him and Cahir. Ciel and Mitchell also followed, leaving the queen and I alone. She took my hand and we sat on the fallen tree. I was speechless. I had never seen the queen or been anywhere near such royals. The nobles and royals never came to the show, unless they were involved with Alincdor. There were some nobles who came disguised but we knew who they were because they paid in gold coin versus silver, which was far more common.
“Miss Mia, do you have a family name? How many magical creatures are in the show?”, she asked still holding my hands. I wasn’t sure if I should look at her so I stared at our hands and whispered my answer. “If I have one I am unaware what it is. There are at least 30 creatures in the show but more work in the mansion and on the grounds.”
She lifted my chin and I could just make out how beautiful and angelic she was. Her soft voice was comforting as she spoke, “Mia my child, please do not be afraid. We will free all of you and this show will no longer hold any of you captive again.” She hugged me and I felt so loved at that moment. I’m not sure what love from a mother or another creature was like but something inside me told me this was not only motherly but what love really was.
She let go of me and I was thankful for her kind words. I know Ciel, Rayna, and Marina cared deeply for me but something about the queen told me she cared for all of us. I smiled at her and then we heard a noise coming from the clearing. We stood and joined the males.
I stood next to Ciel as we watched the door to the cabin fly off its hinges. Out stepped Ghari’s knight, with Alincdor over his shoulder. I took off running towards them without thinking. “Is he dead? Where is Ghari? Where are Tre and the one you call Aziel?”
“Slow down there, little lady. Tre and Aziel escaped and Ghari should be out shortly, he is inside making sure there are no more bad guys or prisoners. Alincdor here is alive although they did a number on him before we got to him.”
Alincdor stirs and manages to fall off the knight’s shoulder. Tied at the hands and feet he can’t stand. He sends a death glare at both of us and opens his mouth to speak, “Untie me this instant and let me go, I’ve done nothing wrong. You dragons are always coming after us humans for no reason!”
The knight, Ker, I think that is what Ghari called him, punches him in the jaw. A loud cracking sound could be heard and Al growls in pain. I frown and wince in pain. I’ve never seen or heard anyone treat Al in such a way. Ciel, Mitchell, and Ghari’s parents approach us. “Is this Alincdor?”, asks the king. Ker nods.
Alincdor remains on the ground while we look up at Ghari walking out of the cabin. His audible curses make his mother frown deeply. “f*****g, f**k s**t. Why the f**k did I have to touch that liquid, it f*****g burns!”
“Watch your mouth, young man!”, yells his father and I stifle a chuckle to see and hear Ghari being scolded like a child.
We were all distracted by Ghari that we hadn’t noticed Alincdor get closer to me. He grabbed my ankle and pulled me down. Scrambling to get away but failing miserably, he placed his arms around my neck. Holding me tightly, almost choking me, he orders me to untie his feet. If anyone tried to get at him he choked me harder so they backed off a bit. Not wanting to hurt me, no one used their magic. He had us stand and he started to walk backwards toward the tree line. I guess he was choking more than I thought because I could feel my body begin to heat up and the unwelcomed darkness began to take me over.
(Ghari’s POV)
I searched the cabin for traces of Tre and Aziel and anyone else that may have been involved. My site gave me glimpses of dark magic that still lingered within the cabin. I did not come across auras, so the cabin was clear of any creatures. I guess Alincdor and the others felt safe here that they didn’t keep many guards around.
I had Ker take the broken piece of s**t out to the waiting army. Cahir had mind-called me stating our parents and the army had arrived. I had searched the room Tre walked out of and noticed that female parts and clothing were thrown around. What kind of sick males would do this to females. What kind of females would let this go on. Alincdor’s wife and daughters would have to answer for this.
I made my way to the common area and the kitchen. The kitchen appeared more like a lab. There were glass containers everywhere and colorful liquids in most of them. There was a large hole in the floor and broken glass all around. The smaller table was also broken. Looked like they must’ve had a fight in here. I touched a blue liquid that was dripping from one of the broken glasses. It was cool to the touch. I couldn’t make any sense of this so I started to walk out of the cabin. I’ll let the royal mages figure this all out.
As I was walking out of the cabin my hand began to burn as though I had it in the fires of a dragon belly. “f*****g, f**k s**t. Why the f**k did I have to touch that liquid, it f*****g burns!”
“Watch your mouth, young man!”, my father scolds me, as I see Mia trying to hide her chuckle. Just then, Alincdor, who was on the ground grabs her and takes her by the neck. He commands her to untie his feet and they stand.
Not daring to use magic we attempt to distract him or get at him but with every attempt, he chokes Mia more. I see her eyes turn from their golden-red to deep purple. I call out to her but she doesn’t respond. Al groans and releases her.
“Why the f**k is she on fire!” He backs away but then freezes mid-way. We all seem to be frozen. I try to mind-call Ker or Cahir but nothing works. I attempt to use my wind to capture Alincdor but nothing happens.
I look on with amazement as Mia’s chest arms are covered in purple dragon scales. A menacing roar is heard and then Mia is off the ground hovering over Al. She grabs him by the neck and lifts him into the air choking him.
“YOU WILL NEVER TOUCH ANOTHER CREATURE! YOU WILL NEVER TOUCH MIA AGAIN!”, she growls at him.
Her aura stilled but glowed in a rage that I could feel deep in my chest. All any of us could do was watch. Mia dug her claws into Al’s throat and pulled back violently. He dropped to the ground limp like a sack of potatoes. She didn’t stop there, however, she took to ripping each of his limbs and threw them to the four corners of our world, or so I think.
I was unaware when I moved from my position but I assume that Thor took over and went to aide his mate. I placed my hand calmly on her shoulder and in her rage she grabbed me and threw me over her and pinned me to the ground. I let out a surprised yelp and groaned in pain. This woke her from her rage and she looked down at me with pity.
I spoke up, “It’s ok Mia or Mia’s dragon. I will not harm you or fight you. I understand your anger. I am here to help.” I place my hand in front of me in a gesture of surrender.
She did not speak but I could see her aura return to its peaceful flow. Her purple eyes returned to their golden-red and her scales retracted. Her eyes then closed and she fell on top of me.
The warlock must’ve approached silently because he quickly scoped her up and sat on the ground with her, calling her name. She did not respond but her chest could be seen rising and falling. At least she was breathing. He looked up at me and with much urgency said, “We need to get her to the infirmary. She is breathing but her skin is hot and the last time this happened the doctor said she could die!”
I nodded and helped him up. The white mage opened a portal for them and escorted them out of the clearing. My father, Ker, and Cahir were at my side quickly. We shared a look then ordered another mage to open a portal home. I wasn’t sure what we had just witnessed but Mia was definitely a royal dragon.
