Chapter 12 A busy day with a long night

SUMMERS POV

Sean left after he had done had bottled feed Skylar and changed her bum, after we had eaten. He left around 7ish I didn't really look at the time. I could tell he didn't want to go, I could see the sadness in his eyes when he said goodnight to Skylar. Hell even I felt sad that he would be going home because for a brief moment, I enjoyed feeling what a family life would be like. I knew I couldn't be weak though because although it's been nice having Sean around for me and Skylar it still doesn't change what happened.

So I had my mum carrying Skylar up to my room after Sean left so she could sleep in the next to be crib while I slept also.

When she woke up. My mum helped me with the next feed when Skylar woke up. However there both asleep now and I can't sleep now. I'm just laid in bed admiring Skylar. I decided to take a quick picture Skylar looked so tiny and cute asleep in the crib. I then decided to send a the picture to Sean captioned she looks to small for the next to me crib.

I saw my phone light up within a minute of my message sent.

Sean

She does look to small, adorable as well. Thankyou for the picture. How come your not asleep? Xx

I quickly reply

To Sean

Because I'm not tired. Everyone else is asleep, I had a sleep after you left but since Skylar woke up for her last feed, I've been awake since. Everyone else is asleep though.

I see my phone light up again.

Sean

I hope you manage some more sleep tonight, you still need to rest. Give Skylar a kiss from me. If you can't sleep during the night and want someone to talk to when everyone is asleep just message me. Xx

I quickly type a reply again.

To Sean

I will give Skylar a kiss for you when she next wakes up. And I hope you get some sleep to night.

At 2:20am when Skylar woke up my dad came and helped me while my mum went and got some rest.

"Summer you go back to sleep I will take care to see to Skylar, you need to be taking it easy still" my dad said.

"Okay but wake me if she doesn't settle" I say yawning while going back to sleep.

"Don't worry I spent many of nights awake with you when you were a baby, me and Skylar will be fine, won't be we bubba" my dad's says.

After that I layed down and cuddled up to a pillow for comfort, I was soon asleep really fast again.

SEAN'S POV

I decided to get to Summers house early, I was knocking on the door at 8:33am.

Kenny answered the door.

"morning how was they over night?" I quickly say.

"Morning Sean, they were good come on in. Summer is just feeding Skylar now I was about to take some toast up to Summer" Kenny says then yawns.

"I can take it up if you want to get some sleep" I say.

"Okay, but I'm sure Summer said she plans on getting up for the day after Skylar feed" Kenny says.

I take the toast Kenny hands me and follow him up the stairs.

"Summers room is that one" kenny says pointing it out to me.

I don't tell him I know from putting the next to me crib in there already.

"Thanks" I say as he goes into the guest bedroom.

"Morning your dad said I can bring this in. He has gone back to bed for abit" I say to summer as I enter the room.

"I didn't expect you so early" Summer says while winding Skylar.

"I couldn't wait to have cuddle with Skylar" I say. Reality was I couldn't wait to see them both again i think to myself.

"Okay well, do you want to finish winding Skylar while I go for a shower? And get her into these clothes afterwards" Summer ask.

"I will always want to do whatever you need me to do" I say smiling walking over to take Skylar.

"Okay well I will be as fast as I can in the shower" Summer says

"Don't rush take your time, I don't want you hurting yourself because your rushing. Me and Skylar will be fine." I say.

"Okay, also Ive asked my mum to show me how to bath Skylar this afternoon, do you want to watch and learn as well?" Summer asks.

"Yes I do, now go enjoy your shower stop worrying and don't rush" I say and with Summer goes to get showered and ready.

"Did you miss me lil lady?" I ask Skylar giving her a kiss on the forehead

"Now let's get this wind up, before we get your dressed for the day." I say getting Skylar sat up right while I support her head so I can wind her.

After I've finished winding Skylar I get her nappy changed then dress her in a cute little pink dress saying 'It took 9 months to grow this cute' I couldn't help smiling at that. "More like 8 months" I say to Skylar. "Okay your all dressed." I say to Skylar as I lift sklyar into my arms again. But then I suddenly get a wiffed of Skylars stinky nappy.

"Already huh? You couldn't of done that 10 minutes ago? Let's get your nappy changed then" I say.

As I'm just putting a clean nappy on Skylar, Summer walks back in looking stunning as always. Hair is up in a messy bun, black leggings and a long stylish red shirt with a black light cardigan on top.

"Wouldn't it if made sense to change her nappy before the clothes?" Summer asks looking at me confused.

"I did but no sooner she was all dressed with a clean nappy, she pooped again" I say.

Summer laughs while saying "good girl Skylar keeping daddy on his toes."

"I'm glad you think it's funny, I'm pretty sure Skylar does as well" I say putting the leggings back on Skylar.

"Okay let's go downstairs hopefully Simon is awake otherwise we have to wake uncle Simon up Summer" says to Skylar.

"Okay then I say going to pass Skylar to Summer.

"Actually could you carry Skylar downstairs, my stitches are still abit sore I'm worried off dropping her down the stairs" Summer suddenly asks me.

"That's fine, Do you want to use my free arm for support as well?" I ask.

"No you just focus on Skylar I will be fine thanks" Summer says.

"Okay" I say standing up with that we both head for the stairs and I walk behind summer making sure she is okay all the way down. Before we head for the front room.

When we walk into the front room Simon is still asleep on the sofa.

Summer takes Skylar from me and sits on the edge of the sofa.

"Uncle Simon it's time to wake up" summer says. And Summer looks so cute as she is uses Skylars pant to pat Simons leg.

"Wow 2 days old and you learnt to talk Skylar, that's really impressive and so clear to Simon" says sleepy. But he sits up holding his hands out as a sign he wants to hold Skylar.

"You can't steal my baby the second you wake up" Summer says laughing.

"No Skylar woke me up by calling me, so she clearly wants me" Simon says smiling.

"Alright, Im making drinks you can have a cuddle while I make them, do you want one as well?" Summer says.

"Yeah, but leave mine on the side I will drink it while I make myself a fry up, do you both want one as well?" Simon says.

"No I'm good I ate before I came here" I say.

"I just had toast as I waited for the hot water to heat up, but I'd happy have 1 egg, 2 pieces of bacon and a few mushrooms though please" Summer says before heading to the kitchen.

"So you got stuck with the sofa?" I say to Simon.

"Yeah but it's surprisingly more comfortable than I expected." Simon says.

"Summer says your restaurants are expanding in Leeds, you have servel now" I say trying to make conversation.

"Yeah there doing really well. I have to go back this evening though unfortunately" Simon says.

"I bet Summer is sad about that." I say.

"Yes, but she knows I will be back in a couple of weeks for the weekend. Also I will be back for Christmas, as I'm cooking the dinner for Summer this year" Simon says.

"Sean I made you a coffee" summer says coming back in with 2 drinks.

"Thank's you didn't have to do that" I say.

"I was making myself a drink anyway, oh by the way it reminded me I said I'd buy your nan, mum and sister Christmas presents for you. While Simon has Skylar I will order them now but where should I send them?" Summer asks.

"To the office still, my dad will be there to recieve them for me." I say.

"Your dad went back to work?" Simon says.

"Yeah while I take some time out to be with Skylar and summer during the first few weeks" I say.

"That's good of your dad." Simon says.

"His only wish was to have a cuddles with Skylar first." I say.

"Now I feel bad your dad didn't have long yesterday cuddling Skylar" Summer says.

"It's alright you don't have to feel bad." I say.

"No have your dad and mum come round later today says 3pm?" Summer says

"Only if your sure" I say.

"It's fine there Skylar grandparents to anyway" summer says.

"Okay I will text my dad now" I say getting my phone out.

To Dad

Hi dad, summer says you and mum can come round for 3pm to see Skylar if your free.

"Well as much as I enjoyed you waking me up Skylar uncle Simon is hungry and you fell back to sleep, so I will put you in your moses basket while I get my breakfast" Simon says standing up with Skylar.

SUNMERS POV

The day went by so fast. I ordered the presents for Sean. The midwife came by a hour later and checked me and Summer over. Then we had lunch before my mum showed me and Sean how to bath Skylar. Skylar hated the bath screamed the whole time. Afterwards me and Sean worked very fast to get her dry and dressed together as well as feed her a bottle before she went back to sleep.

Karen and Tom arrived at 3pm super excited loaded with bags of clothes, nappys and a big pink Teddy for Skylar. I also had more flowers and a bodyshop hamper from them. They left at 5:30 as my brother dished up a sheppards pie for dinner. He then left straight afterwards.

By this point I was very tired and just wanted to sleep but Skylar had woken for for a feed. Sean insisted I went and had a sleep and he could see to Skylar before he left. My mum said she would keep Skylar downstairs with her until midnight so I could get a good block of sleep. I didn't argue it out today, I just needed some sleep where I had no naps during the day, but I felt bad having everyone else look after Skylar when it should be me. After all I'm her mum and this is my responsibility I think to myself as I fall asleep.

My mum woke me up just after 1am saying she had put Skylar into the crib next to me, she had just gone back to sleep after a feed and I should go back to sleep and I should get my mum or dad if I needed any help during the rest of night. She left ready made formula bottles on the bedside table so I wouldn't have to go down stairs. I quite like these ready to use ones you buy in the shops. I will have to get a load more in I think to myself.

I didn't go back to sleep instead I checked my phone and had loads of pictures from Sean as well a message.

Sean

I now your phone is on silent so I sent across the pictures i took of Skylar while you were sleeping before I left. I hope you manage some good sleep. I hope little princess has a good night to, give her a kiss from me. I will be back in the morning xx

I didn't even think of the time still being half asleep I quickly replied

To Sean

Thanks for the photos I love them. My mum just brought Skylar into me and is sleeping like a angel. See you in the morning.

I quickly went to the bathroom and see my phone was alight as I climbed back into bed.

Sean

If Skylar is sleeping like a angel why are you not also sleeping like a angel? And I'm glad you loved the photos xx

I quickly replied

To Sean

Sorry I didn't mean to wake you, I didn't even think about the time. I am awake as my mum woke me up giving e back Skylar for the night and then I needed to use the bathroom. I feel a little awake now hopefully I will be able to sleep again soon.

I honestly did feel bad about waking Sean up. A reply quickly came back through

Sean

Don't be sorry, I don't mind you messaging day or night, I'd rather talk with you than sleep anyway. Plus it only seems fair if your awake during the night seeing to Skylar and I'm sleeping like a pig it seems unfair. I should be awake also xx

I quickly reply

To Sean

That's a good point. When my parents go back home you can stay in the spare room one night to experience the night feeds experience alone with Skylar if you want?

I decided to not even come out of messenger since I knew a reply would quickly come.

Sean

Let me know when, I will definitely arrive early with my over night bag. I can't wait. Thankyou summer it means alot to me. And thankyou for not pushing me away these past few days and allowing me to spend as much time as possible with Skylar as well xx

So I replied

To Sean

Oh trust me it's hard seeing you so much I sometimes feel like slapping you all over again for what you did. But I see how much being a dad means to you, and how your trying extra hard to make sure I'm also okay which you don't have to do, so I won't stop you spending so much time with Skylar. Plus I refuse to be one of those bitter mums that uses there baby against the dad as revenge. Skylar needs you to be apart of her life as much as she needs me.

And once again Sean replied quickly

I know your not a bitter person you never have been, its one of the reason why I fell in love with you and will always love you.

If I could turn back time I would in a heartbeat so I never hurt you in the first place. You ran away and haven't let me explain myself since. I was having pre-wedding jitters worried about what life would be like after marriage, if I could forever keep you happy by my side. If you would really love me forever and I knew you wanted to start a family as soon as we got married and that made me worry about if I'd be a good dad. So when izzy kept flaunting herself at me and you had snapped at me about about not caring of the colour of table covers for the wedding I stupidly slept with izzy. Then 3 days later it just happened again when you walked in and caught us. I instandly knew how badly I messed up and how I should of never even given izzy a glance to start with. Everyday after that I didn't look at any women knowing I hurt you the women I truely love. I won't ever look at enougher women again. I spent 6 months looking for you so I could explain myself and beg for your forgiveness. I know it's not as simple as saying sorry but I hope one day your truely see I'm sorry. I will spend a life time waiting for your forgiveness there won't ever be any other women. Even if you never forgive me it won't stop me doing every I can to be there for you and Skylar. I realise now seeing you both that all I ever need in life is you and our daughter a family. I'm forever sorry and will do whatever it takes to see you both have a happy life even if you never take me back. I love you both never forget that xx

I was crying while reading that I even reread it. It hurt reading it especially when I still love him and wanted to have a family unit not what life is now. But even if I manage to forgive him I don't think I'd ever trust Sean ever again.

I don't know what to say. I'm going to try get some sleep you should to night.
