KABIR'S POV She left me. She. f*****g. Left. Me. And, I didn't do anything to stop her. She gave me that look that stated that she won't ever come back, in my life. This was freaking me out. I lost all my senses. In such a small period, she had become an integral part of my life. She unknowingly soothed my mind whenever I needed her. But it was to be done, the sooner, the better. She was becoming an addiction to me. I had to tell her that I was f*****g married to a woman who doesn't give a damn about me. As much as I wanted to spend my time with Kaya, I had to remember that it was wrong. Kaya, everything I wanted, had walked out from my apartment with tears brimming her eyes, and I, like a f*****g bastard, just watched her walk away from my life. It has been one week since she left me, I didn't dare to text her again, but I constantly waited for her text. She didn't text me even once. Why would she? I had broken her precious heart. I could see that hurt in her beautiful blue eyes. I drowned myself so much in the work that there was no chance of her face, her eyes, her fragrance haunt me, but these things still managed to make their way in my thoughts. I was going through the project details of my new project when my cell phone rang, it was from my lawyer, Kabir: Yes Mr. Desai? Lawyer: Kabir, there is an issue, I thought you must know about it. Kabir: Go on! Lawyer: That man, with whom Krish's car had bumped, is dead. Kabir: What? How's that even possible? He only had some fractures, right? Lawyer: Yeah. I smell something fishy in it. His wife was threatening to file the case as she had an eye-witness of the accident with her. But, to my surprise, she immediately agreed to drop that s**t after I offered her ten million dollars. But, she wants to get paid by you or Krish only. Kabir: That sounds relieving, but I need to find out the actual reason for his death. Lawyer: I found out that, he had died of poisoning, which has nothing to do with the accident. Although she had bribed the doctor to write the fracture followed by infection as the cause of his death. That foolish woman was trying to act smart. Kabir: It's not as straightforward as it appears. I'll myself hand her ten million dollars in cash. Just fix a meeting with her tonight. Lawyer: Alright! Mr. Desai is our old family friend as he was my father's friend and lawyer. He has always been there when I need any legal advice or any other problem. ... It was her place where the meeting was fixed. There was no doubt this woman had evil intentions, as I approached the place, it was some deserted building, where, there was no sign of any human. I was there with my driver and a bodyguard of mine. Though I have never been involved in any of the mafia activities of my uncle or with Krish, I still need to keep bodyguards and a handgun with me every time, for my own good. A lady in her late thirties approached me when I exited my car, whom I assumed was the wife of the person with whom Krish's car had bumped. "You must be Mr. Kabir?" She enquired with a wide grin on her face, as she looked at the bag in my hand. I simply nodded as I observed the scene trying to find any other human presence there. "Please come inside, we can have our deal inside the building." Her smile was not coming to an end. Greedy woman. I gestured my men to stay outside. I will myself handle the whole situation. As we entered the vacant building, there was sitting a man who looked like some cheap criminal as I could see his filthy smile when he saw me, as if I were some prey he could hunt. I raised my eyebrow as I looked at the lady beside me, as a gesture of question about who that man was. "He is the eye-witness who saw your brother driving harshly and bumping into my husband." She told me while her eyes were fixed on the bag in my hand. "I don't think you guys will cause any trouble the money will be provided to you," I said as a matter of fact. "Sure Mr. Kapoor, that's why we are here, for the deal." She smiled widely while moving her hand towards the bag in my hand. I moved my hand back, far from her reach, and looked at that man sitting on the chair. He was silent, just smirking wickedly. "I want assurance that he won't cause any trouble after the money," I said to the lady while I looked at him. "I swear to my kids that I won't do anything after the deal, Mr. Kapoor." He spoke for the first time in his hoarse voice. I nodded and handed the bag to the lady, and turned around to leave. As I looked at him from the corner of my eyes, he took out a gun from his back, aiming at me, exactly the way I had assumed. I swiftly turned around and twisted his wrist, and in another second, he was standing strangled between my arm. "I had expected this cheap game from you," I told him as I chuckled., but I was raging in anger. I took my gun out from my suit and shoot him in the head, he was dead instantly. I looked at the lady, who was standing far from me, her hands clutched the bag tightly, she was shaking with fear. My men came inside the vacant building immediately after they heard the shooting of the bullet. I approached the lady, and grabbed her throat, "You are lucky that I won't lay my hands on any woman. Tell me who's behind this?" I asked her as I squeezed her throat. "I don't know, we were just told to create this scene and kill at least one of the Kapoor sons, either you or your brother." She said while trying to catch her breath. I left her throat after she spilled out the truth. I knew already this woman and that cheap man were not capable to plot anything by themselves. She kneeled down and grabbed my legs, asking for an apology between her sobs, "I am really sorry Mr. Kabir, he was my lover, and we were planning to run away from my husband the night that accident happened. We were approached by some local goons to create this scene and kill you or your brother. I swear I don't know anything except this." "Leave the city immediately. Keep the money," I said coldly not looking at her. I told my men to clear the body and the evidence from the place and headed my home. I told my spy to find the real mn behind it. ... I got showered and cleaned myself from the blood of the man I killed. I palmed my face in my hands, I couldn't believe, what had happened to me, I had never killed any man before, I just killed him ruthlessly. Dad had always told us to stay away from crime, but I f*****g killed a man today. But protecting my family is my duty, and I can do anything for my family, whether it is a muder. I wanted to seek comfort in my mother's warm embrace, but I couldn't tell her that I killed a man today. Kaya's beautiful smiling face came to my mind. My heart, my body wanted to seek comfort in her, but she wouldn't like to see my face ever again. My soul longed for her, but that not possible. I looked at the bed, as usual, my wife Aanya was not there. I sighed and closed my eyes waiting for sleep, but I was unable to sleep as every time I closed my eyes, Kaya appeared before my eyes, smiling and giggling, pouting unintentionally while telling any incident. This woman will be the end of me. . . . . . . A new mafia romance is out... with the title, "Arresting the don". Please go, check and show your love. XOXO
