The Argument.

Alexandria POV "You've lost your mind, Alexandria!" Those were the words Mark exclaimed the moment I broke the news about meeting Raziel. He was sleeping on the couch when I walked in. I had hoped to keep it hidden from him, but he had been awake all night, waiting for me. "I understand you want to save Cody's life, but you need to realize that this is the same man who abandoned you five years ago!" He reminded me, clearing his throat. "I apologize for yelling, but I don't want to see you get hurt again. As your friend, I only want what's best for you." I sat beside him in the chair and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I understand your concerns, Mark, but I can't keep depending on you," I told him, taking a deep breath. "This is the best course of action for Cody, who is in a critical situation and needs help." Mark rubbed his eyes and placed his hand on mine. "I already told you that I'm willing to take a loan and assist." "No," I refused. "They deserve to know their father, and it would be wrong if, as a mother, I didn't do my utmost to ensure the children know him. Cody has always asked about his father, and if I don't let him know, it would make me a bad mother. Having a father in their lives will be a plus, not a Minus," I added, hoping Mark would understand the reasons behind my decision to reveal Raziel's existence to our children. "So, you'll be leaving?" I nodded. "But I will come back because my life doesn't belong in the Werewolf Realm. Raziel and I ended things a long time ago, and no matter what happens, we'll never be together again." Mark nodded in response. "Just know that I'll always be here for you, and our plans for the restaurant will be a success. When you return after helping Cody, we can continue where we left off." I smiled at him and hugged him tightly as if my life depended on it. "Thank you," I sniffled, rubbing his back. "You stood by me when I needed you the most, Mark, and I'll never forget what we shared. Thank you so much." "It's okay," he reassured me, his hand still rubbing my back. That night, as I lay in bed, I stared at the ceiling, wondering if I had made the right choice when Raziel announced he was taking us back to the Werewolf Realm. "They are the Royal heirs, and it's highly frowned upon for them to be in a completely different world from ours. So, I've made this decision for their sake," Raziel's words resounded in my head. "I just hope I'm doing the right thing," I whispered, looking at Cara, fast asleep, and Caden, teetering on the edge of the bed. I caught him before he could fall and gently placed him back before lying down and closing my eyes. The next morning, I awoke to raised voices. It startled me, causing me to jump out of bed in my underwear and rush out of the room, only to find Raziel and Mark locked in a heated argument. "I will rip out your heart and watch you bleed to death!" Raziel threatened, pointing a finger at him. "I suggest you remove that finger from my face, or I'll cut it off with my perfectly sharp knife!" Mark retorted. Raziel laughed and moved to attack him, but I quickly stepped in between them. "You!" Raziel sounded surprised to see me. "Your Highness," I respectfully greeted him, bowing my head. "What brings you here so early in the morning?" I questioned, confused as we had agreed to delay our departure until the end of the week, which was in two days. I had no idea why he had suddenly shown up unannounced at Mark's house. "I came to inform you that we are leaving this afternoon," he announced, and my eyes widened in disbelief. "But... You can't do that. I haven't told the children anything about you, and..." Raziel chuckled again, shrugging his shoulders. "I am the Alpha King, and my attention is needed back in the Werewolf realm. We have to leave together," he declared. "I can only give you until the afternoon. After that, I can't..." Mark interrupted him with laughter, rolling his eyes as he grabbed my hand and pulled me back. "She's not going anywhere until she's ready!" he stated firmly. Raziel clenched his fists, his glare intensifying. He growled at Mark once again and advanced towards him. Mark also moved towards him, and I knew it wouldn't end well. So, I grabbed Raziel's hand and pulled him towards Mark's room. Once we were inside alone, I shut the door and leaned against it. "What are you doing, Alexa?" Mark knocked on the door, trying to force his way into the room. "If he's doing something to you, let me know!" "Nothing is happening!" I shouted. "Give me a few minutes to speak with him, please," I said, and the knocking ceased. I heaved a deep sigh and rubbed my forehead in frustration. "Alexandria!" Raziel shouted my name, and I quickly rushed towards him, covering his mouth. He slapped my hands away and grabbed them, raising them above my head. "Why did you bring me to this room that reeks of him?" "Because you wouldn't stop fighting him, and I had to intervene." Raziel released my hands and burst into laughter. "Are you taunting me, Alexandria?" I blinked, not understanding what he meant or what he was trying to explain. "What are you saying?" "You're taunting me, rubbing it in my face. Instead of telling that human to stop belittling me, you're supporting him." "I am not supporting him," I tried to argue, but he silenced me with his hand. "It's disheartening to see him playing the fatherly role to my children, all because you hid it from me, Alexa. Do you know how I felt when I saw your pictures with him and the children?" he asked, his voice growing soft. "I felt like a complete fool who had lost something. I wasn't there to witness their birth or be with you when they took their first steps. Do you have any idea how that makes me feel and...?" he trailed off, throwing his hands up before walking over to the bed and sitting down. I didn't know how to react to his words. I understood his pain of not knowing about his children's identity, but I also knew that it wasn't my fault. If he had believed me five years ago, he would have met them, and we wouldn't have to deal with such emotional turmoil. "I..." I walked toward him, wanting to touch him, but then I withdrew my hand, reminding myself that this was the man who hated me. "I will make sure that the time you missed with your children will be recovered once you get to know them. Until Cody is fine, we have to pretend that everything is alright in front of him." Raziel raised his head to face me, his gaze filled with confusion, not understanding what I meant. "Can you explain what you mean by that?" he asked. I cleared my throat, feeling the weight of the situation, and sat down on the bed, keeping a significant distance between us. "you think that I am going to swallow you!" he scoffed, motioning for me to continue. I ignored what he had said and continued just like he had requested. "Cody wants a father figure in his life, so if I introduce you to him, I want him to believe that we are both doing well,'' I explained, trying to get my point across. Raziel interrupted me, rising from the bed. ''You want to deceive our child about our relationship?'' he questioned, approaching me. Standing in front of me, he lowered his head, closing the space between us until I could feel his breath on my face. 'What...' I attempted to turn my head away, but he reached out and touched my cheek, turning my face back towards him. 'Your Highness, I...' I was cut off by his kiss. The kiss started slowly but soon grew intense as he placed his hands behind my ears, deepening the connection. I found myself responding to the kiss, but then reality hit me, reminding me of the past, the accusations thrown at me. I pushed him away. ''What the hell do you think you're doing, Your Highness?'' Raziel chuckled and smirked at me. ''Relax, Alexa. I was just testing something,'' he stated. I jumped to my feet, hitting him on the chest. I had thought that he had kissed me because he felt the connection between us just like in the past. ''You kissed me just to test something? Are you insane?'' Raizel smirked once again. ''Insane? I'm not the insane one here,'' he taunted, bursting into laughter. ''You're the one who's going crazy, trying to plant lies in a child's mind!'' "What... you're..." I stammered, unable to find the right words. I didn't even know if what he was saying was true, as I had planned to lie to Cody just to make him happy. "If you want me that badly, Alexa, you should have said so. If you can admit that you cheated on me five years ago, then maybe I'll consider your wish and pretend in front of Cody that we're okay!" I scoffed and bit my lower lip. "How dare you!" I yelled at him, clenching my fists to restrain myself from hitting him. I didn't want to defy the werewolf tradition, but Raziel was getting on my nerves. The thought of hitting him once crossed my mind, and if I had the chance, I would have hit him for everything he put me through. "What, Alexa?" he asked, laughing. "Admit it. You want me, and you..." "Raziel!" I yelled his name. "I don't know what's going on in your head, but you need to realize that the world doesn't revolve around you!" "Well, the world of the werewolves do," he said. "Really?" I scoffed. "Too bad we're not in the world of the werewolves right now, and I can do this!" I yelled, kicking him in the groin. "Alexa," he groaned, still holding his groin. "You..." "I don't care about you anymore. The only reason I'm doing this is for the children," I interrupted, my voice filled with frustration. "I can't be with someone like you, who couldn't even defend his mate! If you think I'm doing all of this because of you, then you're crazy!" "It hurts really bad," he winced, still holding himself. "Out of all the things you could have attacked me with, Alexa, you decided to kick me in the groin!" "Serves you right, you royal jackass!" I lowered my head and headed toward the door. "And where do you think you're going?" he asked. "I'm leaving this room because this conversation is over," I replied, unlocking the door. Just as I was about to place my hand on the doorknob, he grabbed my hand and turned me around to face him. As I tried to free myself from his grip, the door opened, pushing me against his chest. His other hand was still on his groin, and we both ended up on the floor, with me on top of him. "Mummy, where are you?" Caden's voice sounded from the entrance of the room. My eyes widened as I exchanged looks with Raziel, and we both turned toward the door.
