Acting as a Father to my Triplets 2

Raziel POV I heaved a deep sigh as I walked into the room with Alexa, where Cody was. Unlike the first time when I couldn't enter, I wasted no time and made my way to his bedside. "Cody!" Caden and Cara shouted happily as they rushed to meet their brother. They were so energetic as they climbed onto the bed that it was fun to watch them. "Calm down, guys. Cody is still sick, so be careful with him," Alexa told them, clearing her throat to get their attention. "Listen up, all three of you," she announced, and the noise suddenly ceased. I rubbed my hands together, feeling curious about how Alexa was going to break the news to the children. I was nervous. As an alpha king who was intimidating to others, I was anxious that my children might not accept me. "What is it, Mommy?" Cody asked weakly, looking at me. "Who is he?" he inquired, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he eyed me suspiciously. Cody was exactly like me. He was a miniature version of me, and it felt surreal to stare at him up close, remembering myself at his age. "That's why I said you all should stop talking," Alexa replied to him and sat down on the bed beside him. "Cody," she called. "Yes, Mommy," the little boy replied, still staring at me. "Remember when you always asked about Daddy, and I said he lives in another world apart from us?" she asked, and Cody nodded in response, listening attentively. "Well, Daddy is here," Alexa pointed toward me, and I raised my hand and waved at the children. They all stared back at me with mixed emotions, and my anxiety returned. My heart started racing faster than I thought, and I curiously waited for their replies, but none of them said anything as they continued to stare at me. I felt out of place, rejected by my children. But then, they proved me wrong as Caden stood up from the bed and walked toward me. "Are you like Daddy Mark?" he asked, and I shook my head in response, crouching down to his level. "I am different, and..." "He is the Daddy I always talked about, the one who is busy saving his world," Alexa chimed in, helping me out once again. "Oh!" Caden clapped his hands and threw himself into my arms. "Daddy!" he called, wrapping his little arms around my neck. "Mommy said you were out there saving your world. Are you back now?" "Yes," I replied, relieved that at least one of the children had accepted me. Next, it was Cara who jumped down from the bed and walked towards me. "So you helped me braid my hair because you're my daddy?" she asked, and I looked up at Alexa for help. She nodded her head, signaling me to respond. "Yes," I said. Cara laughed and played with her braids. "Now you can help me braid my hair all the time," she said, throwing herself into my arms. "Daddy, I'm so glad you're back. Were there any princesses in the world you saved?" I nodded in response and pinched her cheek. "You are also a princess in my world," I told her, and her eyes widened in surprise. She jumped excitedly and rushed to meet Alexa. "Mummy, I'm a princess!" she exclaimed, sounding so excited that it warmed my heart to see her happy. Caden, on the other hand, frowned at me. "What about me?" I chuckled and ruffled his hair. "You are a prince too and the same with Cody," I told him and looked at Cody, who remained on the bed, staring at me. Unlike the rest of the children, he didn't seem excited to see me. I stood up and walked closer to his bed. "I..." I started to say, but he interrupted me. "Why didn't you come all these years?" he asked. For a four-year-old boy, I was shocked that he would ask such a question. Unlike his siblings, who had quickly accepted me, he seemed to have a lot on his mind to say to me. "Dad was saving the world," Alexa replied on my behalf, and I nodded, agreeing with what she had said. But Cody didn't look excited at all. "I believe we should excuse you both to talk," Alexa stood up from the bed and grabbed Caden and Cara, who were talking about their roles as prince and princess. "Mummy, is Daddy coming with us?" I heard Cara ask as they walked out of the room, and Alexa replied to her. "You could have come back all these years. Why didn't you?" Cody asked. I sat beside him and grabbed his small hand. "I am sorry, son. That world needed me, and I had to solve the issues they were dealing with. But now, I am back," I told him. Cody didn't say anything and just stared at me as if he was observing. For someone his age, there were things he wouldn't understand, no matter how smart he seemed to sound. "I had thought I would never see you," he said, and I could hear the sadness in his tone. "While waiting for you, I drew a picture of our family," he pointed to the desk beside him. I stood up and walked toward the desk, where I saw a paper with a picture of our family. The triplets were in between Alexa and myself, and even though it wasn't drawn perfectly, anyone could see that it resembled our family. "You drew this?" I asked. "Yes," he replied. "I always hoped you would come back after saving your world, and you did, Daddy." When he said "Daddy," it felt as if my world was complete, and I felt so happy that I hugged him. "It feels so good to hear you say 'Daddy'," I told him, rubbing his hair. "I am sorry for not coming sooner, and I will never leave you or your siblings again." "You promise?" he questioned, and I nodded in response. "Yes, son," I stretched my pinky finger towards him. "I promise that I will always be here, forever." Cody smiled and intertwined his finger with mine. "Mommy said that I am also going to fight some bad guys soon, and once I win, I will no longer stay in the hospital," he informed me, and I quickly understood that he was talking about his upcoming surgery. "Yes," I nodded. "Once you win, you will be fine." "Then I can play with you, Caden, Cara, and Mommy?" "Of course. All five of us will always be together," I assured him, even though I still had some uncertainties about Alexa. "Am I a prince too, just like Caden?" "Yes, son. You are a prince," I told him, rubbing his hair and then hugging him again. "I am so glad you're back, Daddy." "Me too, son." Finally, I thought. Just a week ago, if anyone had told me that I had children, I wouldn't have believed them. But now, it was a reality. I was a father to three children who had accepted me.
