Chapter 8: The Playboy

I froze as I realized that I am now looking at the body of the man I met at the elevator. Even through the darkness, I can see how buff he is. I could see a smile on his face.

Jax: “Hi.”

Luisa: “W-What are you doing here?”

Jax: “Vera.”

Luisa: “Oh.”

I should have guessed. He’s Ms. Vera’s most recent male companion. Come to think of it, they are perfect for each other. They are both promiscuous and can’t seem to survive without a s****l partner.

Luisa: “I should go back to bed.”

Jax: “Can you stay for a bit?”

Luisa: “I wouldn’t want Ms. Vera to find us talking with you half-naked.”

Jax: “Well, I could see your chest too. Especially through the lights on the fridge. Nice tits.”

I looked down and realized that since I wasn’t wearing a bra, my t**s are visible because of the lights of the refrigerator. I covered my chest and closed the fridge door immediately before I ran to my bedroom. I was still holding the glass of water as I closed the door.

I could hear Jax chuckling as I ran. I didn’t want to go back outside so I just put the glass down. I’ll just wash it tomorrow.

I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn’t stop thinking about Jax’ naked body. I have seen the bodies of the other men Ms. Vera had brought home before, but they don’t have the same effect on me as Jax’ has. Could it be because I knew him as someone other than one of Ms. Vera’s male companions?

I finally got back to sleep after almost an hour.

I was thankful that I didn’t find Jax in the apartment anymore as I was preparing breakfast. Ms. Vera came out of her bedroom looking refreshed and energized. It appears that all she needed to feel better was the company of a man.

Ms. Vera ate and got dressed to go out. Before she left, she said she'd be back for dinner. It appears that she’s back to her old routine.

I just put baby Cass down for her morning nap and was about to tidy up the house when I heard the bell ring. Usually, we don’t get guests in the apartment so I wondered who it was. One time, a delivery man arrived with baby supplies for baby Cass. I realized that the reason why she has complete supplies is not because Ms. Vera diligently buys it for her, but because her dad sends her regular supplies.

I put the broom down and opened the door. I gasped as I saw who it was.

Jax: “Hi.”

Luisa: “J-Jax? Why are you here? Ms. Vera is not here.”

Jax: “I know. I’m not here to see her. I’m here to see you.”

Luisa: “What? Why? What do you need from me?”

Jax: “Have you had lunch? I brought some burgers.”

He showed me the bag he was carrying and I could smell them, and they smell good. I haven’t had lunch yet and I suddenly felt hungry. My stomach grumbled and Jax chuckled as it did. He invited himself into the apartment and I wasn’t able to stop him.

Luisa: “Uhm, you should go. Ms. Vera might get mad when she finds you here.”

Jax: “She won’t come back until tonight. That’s always her routine.”

Jax then unwrapped the bag and laid down the food on the table. My stomach grumbled once more and he said “Well, what are you waiting for? Your tummy is complaining and wants you to eat now.”

I took a seat and started eating. The burger tasted so good, and Jax pushed some fries in front of me and I started eating them too. He handed me some soft drinks and said “Slow down.” I sipped some of it before I resumed eating.

Jax: “So, how have you been?”

Luisa: “Uhm, fine. Why do you ask?”

Jax: “I’m just wondering. Vera’s helpers don’t always last longer than a month working for her.”

Luisa: “Ms. Vera is fine. I like taking care of baby Cass. She’s an angel.”

Jax: “That’s nice. Where are you from, anyway?”

Luisa: “I’m from Liloan, in Cebu.”

Jax: “Do you miss home?”

Luisa: “I do. I miss my family so much. I’ve never been away from home before.”

Jax: “I’m away from my family too.”

Luisa: “Where are they?”

Jax: “I don’t have parents anymore. My sisters are in the US. They live there with their families. I have four nephews and nieces.”

Luisa: “When was the last time you saw them?”

Jax: “I get to talk to them via video chat all the time. The last time I saw them in person was more than a year ago, though.”

Luisa: “Good for you. Maybe the reason why you’re with different women all the time is because you’re lonely.”

Jax chuckled before he said “Do you think so? Well, I don’t really seek these women out. They’re usually the one making the move. Who am I to refuse them? Your boss saw me at the gym and she was all over me.”

Luisa: “Some of these women might be at a vulnerable place when they hit on you.”

Jax: “Well, being with me makes them feel better. I can’t deny them that.”

I just resumed eating. I wanted to finish as soon as I could so Jax could leave already.

Jax: “Hey, you’re eating too fast. You wouldn’t want to choke would you.”

Luisa: “I still have things to do and I need you to leave soon. Why  are you here anyway?”

Jax: “Well, I’m tired of eating alone, I figured you’d be alone too, so I came here.”

I suddenly felt guilty as I realized Jax was just trying to be friendly. I slowed my eating down and enjoyed the food. After 30 minutes, we were done eating and I started cleaning up.

Jax asked to use the bathroom and I thought he was going to leave after, but he sat down on the couch and started watching TV. I started sweeping the floors and wiping the furniture. When I didn’t have anything else to do, I went to baby Cass’ room to check on her. She was still asleep so I went back to the living room and thought of how I could get Jax to leave.

Before I got the chance to talk, Jax said “You’re done cleaning, aren’t you? Why don’t you take a seat and rest for a bit?”

Luisa: “Uhm, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

Jax looked at his watch and said “Fine. I need to be somewhere anyway. I’m bringing lunch again tomorrow. What would you like?”

Luisa: “Uhm, it's not a good idea for you to come back.”

Jax stood up and chuckled. He headed to the door and before he left, he said “See you tomorrow.”

I guess I can’t stop him from coming back if he wants to.
