Soft comforting hand

1070 Words
BRAYAN'S POV I felt a soft, comforting hand steadily tapping me in my dream. "Brayan, wake up." I struggled to open my eyes; the vision was a little blurry. It was Princess Kiki, fully dressed. "Hi, love, what is the problem?" I asked with a cold voice. She smiled and sat on the bed. "I am leaving. I will be back soon; my father wants to see me." Her glorious voice woke every sleeping vessel in me. I grabbed her, but she pushed me away. "I have to go now. You can do whatever you please when I return," she said and left. I went back to my sweet dream until the sound of a heavy downpour disrupted everything. I swiftly jumped out of bed to get the window closed. Something came to my mind: "Adira! Where could she be?" I asked and went outside. My eyes couldn't believe what I saw. Adira soaked herself in the rain, crying and looking tattered. I ran to her and tried to carry her, but she refused. "Adira, what happened to you? Why are you here? Please, allow me to take you inside." I pleaded. She raised her head, looked at me, and sighed. "Was this why you brought me out of my comfort zone? You used to love to deceive; here, I am like a commoner. You made a promise to me; what happened, Brayan? Crying is now my hobby; dying in pain with the child inside me." Adira revealed, and I couldn't believe my ears. "A child? Our child?" I questioned her, but I was still confused about why she was crying. I carried her, changed her dress, and made her sleep. After some time, Adira woke up screaming my name, and I ran to her. "What is the problem?" "It's a dream. I saw when your head was chopped off by the princess. I tried saving you, but you refused." She said her hands were shaking as she spoke. Conveying emotions that seemed to be real. I hugged her and stood up to bring her food. "That was just a mere dream; you have nothing to worry about, my queen. Forget about that; let's focus on our baby." I listened to her stomach groan and left to get the food. "Brayan, this is not just a mere dream. Let's read the meaning into this and prevent anything that will befall us," Adira advised. I laughed, knowing that she was saying that out of fear. As I came out of the kitchen with the food in my hand, I paused. The beauty before me sent shivers down my spine. She stood straight. Her body was commanding me to draw closer, so I left the plate in my hand. It shattered on the floor. I froze while the princess's hand made magic on my chest. "I was gone, and you didn't look for me. I can see you don't want me anymore; you prefer the garbage before you." The princess said, making me feel bad for the sound of her tone. I looked at Adira as she foolishly watched us in astonishment. "Well, I might accept everything you said, but I can't accept wanting this piece of trash before me," I replied, slowly moving back to the couch. Adira stood up with force and walked in our direction. I wondered what she was coming to do until she got closer and released a thunderous slap on the princess's face. "What is the meaning of this nonsense? Brayan, what is happening to you? What did she give to you?" Adira protested, demanding an answer when she didn't keep it. I was surprised by her audacity, but I watched her display a little. "Are you going to stand there and watch this witch fight and injure me?" The princess asked, using her hands to wipe the little tears that dropped from her eyes. Kiki angrily turned to leave. I drew her back and faced the stupid creature right before me. I took two steps closer to Adira and said, "Now listen to me; the next time you dare try this again, that will be your last day. Know your limit, you worthless fool." Tears had already started dripping from her decisive eyes, as she always does. Trying to emotionally blackmail me. "Brayan, this wasn't what you promised me. I left my family, my position, and the only people who accepted me in this miserable existence. I brought myself down to your level just because of love. Brayan, was it all a plan to destroy my life and make me happy? Please don't do this to me," Adira said, going down on her knees and begging with tears. She stretched her filthy hands to touch my feet, and I kicked them away. "You must be a fool to think that I took you out of your good life. Who, in her right senses, would leave her family and everything in her name just to be with a man? You must be very dumb, and you have proven it. For the record, I can't remember the last time I said I loved you. Fool! Wipe your stupid tears, pack all your rags, and leave my house immediately." I softly said this to her as Kiki fell into my embrace. "Brayan!!" Adira called out with force. "I don't remember you giving me that name. Swallow it and do what I asked of you, now." Adira crawled to me and said, "Brayan, you are joking, right? Tell me you are joking, please." "Joking? Wow! I love the fact that you have also lost your senses at the same time. Good for you. Now, get out of here before I help you out on my way." I said hastily. Her presence irritates me a lot. "Brayan, it's getting dark. Where do you expect me to go?" "Does it look like I care? Of course, you have your family. They are not dead," I said, and I started walking into the room with the gorgeous princess with me. "You are aware of the rules they gave me before I died. Brayan, don't do this," she said, raising her voice, crying like a newlyborn child. I turned with a sweet smile on my face and said, "You have your battles to fight alone. No one will want to be part of your story; get out of my house before I return."
