I think he likes you

The moment Charles got out of his office, he motioned for me to sit on the chair across his table. I really need to sit because my legs would really give up on me sooner. My mind is in chaos and I have no idea what he wanted to talk about with me. God! this is really a small world. I never anticipated seeing him again and to work with him means I will see him almost every day. Whoa! We looked at each other's eyes and he could really hypnotize me by just staring at him. He's really good-looking but I feel ashamed that I had kissed him a few nights ago. I kissed my boss in a f*****g club and he's the CEO of Wright Company. Insane! "Miss Adams, I'm glad you're already part of Wright's Company," he cleared his throat. "I hope we could work efficiently from now on," I just nodded at him because I don't really know what to say. I'm not sure if I felt tense or ashamed because of what happened.  My mind is telling me to resign because I'm so embarrassed but I clearly recalled that I couldn't resign for the duration of two years contract.  "Mr. Wright, thank you for giving me the opportunity to work in your company," I responded as flawlessly as I could but my uneasiness was really evident. "Lauren, about the night at the club," that was it, he opened up about what happened that night.  "I think I scared you and I'm sorry about it,"  I wanted to avoid the topic but I guess I couldn't because he's my f*****g boss. "Mr. Wright, nothing to apologize for," I avoided his gaze because he was looking at me intensely. "I was tipsy and I'm out of my mind that's why I ran out of that club," I explained while looking at my fiddling fingers. How I wish we could stop talking because I'm in so much tension but it's rude for me to leave without his permission. "Alright, you can go back to work," he sounded serious. "I hope we can work effectively," he said and I immediately sat up. "Thank you, Mr. Wright," I turned my back at him. After closing his door, I heaved a sigh of relief because the tension really hit me hard. I looked at the ceiling and closed my eyes "This is unbelievable!" I thought. "Everything okay?" I stilled because I'm not aware Charles was already in front of me. I nodded at him and smiled but I know he sensed something wrong in my actions. Absurd! I sat on my chair but my mind is still in chaos. I opened my machine and an email popped up from Human Resource to welcome me to the team. Few people were copied on the email and I guess those in the higher management. I replied immediately with a thank you note and that I'm grateful to be part of the company. The whole day that I'm working, the tension never left me. I'm tense whenever he's out because we could definitely see each other. But I should be calm and compose whenever he's around because I couldn't be effective when I'm always uneasy. I don't have any other choice but to deal with his presence every day. I'm glad I sorted out properly the documents handed by Charles and I didn't receive any bad reactions from him. When it was time to go home, I bid goodbye to Charles and he wished me safety. Out of curiosity, I asked him about his shift because he came early than me then he will be out later than me. Crazy! "Lauren, I couldn't go if the boss is still around," he said.  "I have a different contract compared to you so it's between the boss and me," I nodded at his explanation and turned my back to walk towards the lift. When I reached home, Audrey was already preparing for dinner. She cooked my favorite spinach lasagna and I could smell it as soon as I entered the house. "Why are you so early today?" I wondered because her usual time of coming home is around seven. "I'm just excited to know about your first day at work," she smiled with a hint of tease and I could really tell that something's amusing about her. I stilled for a moment because I'm not ready to share what I've discovered today. "Have you meet your boss?" she said softly in a playful tone and grinned like nuts. "Yeah," my only reply, and opted to avoid her gaze. "What does he look like?" I blushed at her question because I couldn't describe to her the impression that I have for Mr. Wright. "He's fine," I replied shortly. "And why are you blushing?" Damn, Audrey! she really won't stop. "Spell it, c'mon!" I rolled my eyes at her and she chuckled at my reaction. "You wouldn't believe this," I inhaled a deep breath. "He's the man from the club," I saw her smile from ear to ear and she isn't surprised at all. "Oh, the handsome man you french kiss a few nights ago," she winked at me. I swear if teasing could kill, I'll be six feet under the ground. "Will you stop, Audrey!" I hissed. "First of all, it was not a french kiss. You're exaggerated!" I refuted and she shrugged it off. "I'm excited to know your reaction when you met Justin today," I furrowed my brows on why she knew his name. "You know him?" She laughed at my question and I couldn't tell if she's making fun of me. She said she doesn't know him personally but it was Drake who introduced him to her. Drake's parents have a few businesses in the Wright's Group of Shopping malls and they have few encounters in the past. "Actually, he talked to me at the club," she disclosed and surprise was an understatement to me. "Talked? About?" I quickly questioned in disbelief. "You!" she said it in a singing tone and it added to my irritation. "Why you two talked about me?" I stressed out because she's starting to get on my nerves. Insane! She told me that when I pulled out from the kiss, Justin saw me running towards the couch and there he recognized Drake. After he followed me outside and I left the club, he got in to join Drake and asked some questions about me. That was where Drake introduced her to him. What the hell! "Tell me, was my interview with his company a coincidence?" I raised my brows and crossed my arms on my chest. She could sense that I am annoyed. "Drake mentioned he sent your application to his company," I caressed my temple up to my hair after hearing what she said. "Why you didn't tell me?" I countered in a bit loud tone. "I know you'll back out from the interview," she told me because I'm going to freak out sooner. "I think he likes you, Lauren," I shook my head in disbelief. "That's impossible, Audrey," I rebutted. "How can he like me if we don't know each other?" I opposed and she did not listen to me. "Believe me, he's a good person," she insisted. "Drake can attest to that," I rolled my eyes at her because she's an i***t to be sure about his character. "Stop it, Audrey. You're a fool to believe that," I snorted. "Time will tell and if it happens, I will be happy for you," she winked mischievously and I only raised my brows to her.
