I woke up early because I don't want to get late on my first day of work. Thankfully, Audrey handed me a bunch of corporate clothes to choose from because I haven't shop for mine yet. Audrey could really make my life easier and I will be forever grateful to her.
I chose to wear a white inner string strap and I put a navy blue blazer on it. I preferred to wear navy blue corporate pants to match with the blazer and it fits me well too. Audrey and I definitely have the same size but I'm just a bit taller than her.
Before I could put on a little bit of makeup, I went to the kitchen to have my breakfast. Audrey was already munching on her sandwich and she spared one for me. I could see that she's happy and I don't know what's the reason. She's strange since the other day.
"Seems you're happy, care to share?" I asked before biting my food. She winked at me and smiled widely.
"Nah, I just want to start the day with happy vibes," her response and I just smirked at her. "You're insane!" I shook my head.
A few minutes passed, I told her that I'm full and I need to do the final touches before leaving to work. I put light makeup on my face to have some color because I felt like I'm pale. Maybe because I'm just tense on my first day. I put my hair on a ponytail and I made sure it's neat and clean. I wanted to look good in front of the boss to boost my confidence.
Not long, Audrey called for us to go because she will drive and drop me at Wright's building before going to her work which is quite near mine. Actually three blocks away from Wright's.
I thanked her for dropping me and before I could go out of his car, "Good luck!" she exclaimed in excitement. When I turned my head to look at her, she was smiling from ear to ear. I furrowed my brows because I really don't know what was happening to her. Did she get a new boyfriend? Jeez!
The moment I entered the building, the receptionist recognized me quickly and handed me my personal access pass. I noticed that it was two cards and when I checked on them, the other one is my identification card.
I went directly to the 25th floor and Charles was already in. My working schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon but he's much earlier than me. Is he working 24 hours? Or maybe he's an early riser. I shouldn't be late every morning because for sure he will notice me. I don't want to get tagged as tardy and lame.
"Good morning, Charles," I greeted him and he reciprocated me with a wide smile. I felt that he's a good person because his features could tell or I hope I'm right. Anyway, that would not be the most important thing to think about because it's only my first day at work.
I proceed to my table and the computer machine was already set up and ready to use. I haven't seen it yesterday and I'm amazed that they could have it prepared in a short time. All the passcodes and other details were written on a piece of paper that was pinned on my desk.
Charles said that the CEO is already in his office and he will introduce me later if the boss isn't busy anymore. I'm surprised at how workaholic the CEO and maybe that's the reason for the company's success. Of course, a lot of people depend on the company so I believe it's just best for him to be like that.
I could see Lana, Britt, Sam, and Jazz on their respective working station starting their job seriously. Though their stations are a bit far from us, I could still see them and they waved their hands at me when they noticed I'm looking at their way.
"Miss Adams, it's time to introduce you to the CEO," I felt tense in an instant because I'm afraid to meet him. What if he's strict and arrogant? A lot of questions were running through my mind.
"Charles, please call me Lauren," he smiled and nodded at me immediately.
"Alright, Lauren, come with me," I sat up quickly and followed him. When we reached a wooden door, I saw the word CEO pinned on it. I fixed on my clothes and inhaled a deep breath. "Ready?" he asked and I smiled at him. I prayed and hope that he's a good boss.
Charles knocked on the door and we heard a manly voice telling us to come in. He turned the knob and I was welcomed by a beautiful office. I could smell a luxury scent and it's so good. I felt like I'm under a spell with just the scent of it. There's a black couch and few chairs around and the setup was fantastic. Of course, the CEO's office would be the most beautiful.
We walked forward toward his empty table and when Charles pointed to the left side of the wall, I saw a man, and his back was facing us. I did not notice him immediately because I was kind of awed as I focused on the things in front of me.
I saw him looking outside of the glass wall with both his arms in his pocket. He was standing tall, broad shoulders and I could easily sense his powerful aura.
"Mr. Wright," Charles called and that was the moment he turned around.
The smile on my face instantly faded when I recognized him. Holy mother of Crap! It was him! I swallowed the lump on my throat and I was aware that I'm blushing as red as a tomato. Thankfully, I put on some makeup but the shock really printed on my face.
He moved forward to us and I could feel that my legs were shaky. I'm afraid I couldn't balance my three inches black shoes but I needed to overcome the emotion or I might collapse in front of him. My heart pounded so hard and I don't know what to do. What happened that night kept on flashing in my mind. How I wish I could disappear in an instant but that was impossible.
"Mr. Wright, this is Lauren Adams our newly hired," Charles introduced and he nodded. I forced my lips to smile but I felt them trembling. I'm so worried about what would he think about me because we kissed in that club torridly. "Will he think I'm a slut?" I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Hi Miss Adams, welcome to Wrights Company," he extended his hand for a handshake. I was stunned and hesitant to accept it but I have no other choice. When our hands met, I felt I was electrified and felt it weird. With the way he gripped my hand, it was firm and different.
"T.. Thank you, Mr. Wright," I stuttered because I felt like my heart and mind were in haywire. I avoided his gaze because I was obviously bewildered in front of him.
"Charles, will you leave us for a moment?" he spoke in a serious manner. Charles nodded before he turned his back towards the door. I hissed in nervousness and I couldn't think clearly. I'm doomed.
