Finally, she had secured a meeting with the Alpha, it had been a tedious task he was a busy man or Actaeon would want to be a part of it so she would decline but finally, she could see him. It was private in his office through the room itself was practically the size of a grand hall, the ceilings reaching almost three stories high with large windows behind the desk to overlook their exquisite gardens “It's nice to see you, Kaia. Are you enjoying your stay?” he was sincere in his question the older man asked with his large dark eyes staring straight at Kaia as she sat opposite him at his desk. She couldn't help but wonder how such a kind man had such an awful son. “Yes, it's beautiful here thank you so much for having me” Kaia replied settling herself back in the chair. Keeping perfect posture however just as her mother had always taught her, Kaia didn't think she could slouch even if she tried at this point in her life. “Kaia, this is your home. I want you to feel welcome here” he smiled. It was warm and kind just like the man himself just a large burly man but one who looked like they would give the warmest of hugs. “I appreciate that, Damone. It's actually why I requested the meeting” a small smile curled on her lips. Kaia had been thinking long and hard about how to proceed with her next steps especially with Actaeon lurking in the background. “Of course, whatever you need” he insisted leaning forward in his large leather charge clearly interested in what she had to say. Kaia did appreciate the kind of attention he was willing to give. It was what made him such a good leader, he was willing to listen to his people a lesson she certainly wanted to take in. “Thank you, Damone. I would like to send my uncle and cousin home” Kaia had been thinking about it though Actaeon made it more of a pressing matter but she had already considered it earlier. “Is everything okay? Do they not like it here?” he quickly began to question concern obvious on his face. “They like it very much here but they need to return home Peter for one needs to start the transition for the pack to move here and well... I have plans for Luca. My cousin needs time to recuperate also and as much as your doctors have been wonderful in caring for him I think being home would be best” Kaia explained, her large blue eyes trained on the Alpha awaiting his reply. The man grinned, however, admiring her way of words “you will make a wonderful Luna you know that Kaia” he replied before leaning back his fingers lacing together as the rest on top of the wooden oak desk “of course I will organise for them to return to your pack.” “Thank you so much” Kaia spoke in appreciation. “Of course when would you like it arranged?” he questioned. “This afternoon” he simply nodded in return before lifting the phone on his desk to his ear to begin making the arrangements “thank you so much” she whispered again before escorting herself out of the room. That was now one less worry on her mind. ::: “Are you sure, Kaia? We can always stay” Peter spoke as he watched some of the workers packing their belongings into their luggage. “I need you home, Uncle” Kaia insisted her eyes however drifted to her cousin who stood by the window staring out. His usual cocky, snarky demeanour had changed so much and he was still so thin and frail, the cheeks of his usually well-chiselled face were still so sunken in “Luca would be better off recuperating at home” she insisted. “What about beta duties?” Luca suddenly spoke his voice was still quite husky and dry like he hadn't drunk anything in quite some time. “Gatlin has the duties of Beta covered” as soon as she spoke she saw the hurt on his face as he glanced over his shoulder. “Kaia, Luca can still--” Peter began before Luca cut him off. “I know I'm not well but I will get better, Kaia. I can still be Beta or is it what happened” he sighed but she was quick to comfort him basically running to his side and taking a hold of his hand. “Of course, you will be better in no time, Luca I do not doubt it. You have a better chance doing that at home though plus we need to start organising to move people over here” that was half true. Frankly, she didn't want her wolves over yet especially with such uncertainty in the mix “however I also know there are some there who don't want to move.” “And you want us to convince them?” Peter questioned. “No, I don't want to force people to be uprooted from their homes if they want to stay they are free to do so” Kaia explained but both Peter and Luca looked at her confused. “Kaia, there will be no Alpha to take care of them” Peter explained gently to his niece. “Yes, there will” Kaia gave a wide smile suddenly looking towards her cousin “Luca will be Alpha.” “What?!” the pair exclaimed. It was quite amusing because they really did look similar when they were shocked. “Kaia I cant” Luca began but she shook her head dismissing his reluctance. “Of course, you can. Luca, you were always the one really there for me guiding me. My mother may have trained me but you were the one with me showing me the way” Kaia gave a gentle squeeze of his hand “you will get better and you will make a great Alpha I know it” Luca seemed moved by her words eyes softening at her kind gesture “now both you get packed up, you're going home” she insisted before beginning to walk towards the bedroom door. “Kaia, thank you” Luca looked at his cousin a smile gracing his lips. The first smile she had seen him have since he had returned. “It was always really yours, Luca. You killed the bastard after all” she smiled at him in return before leaving the room. Happy that some things were working out.
