Selena POV:
It was still dark outside but my sleep had broken and there was nothing more to do except lay here. Ethan's arms were wrapped around me, securely, maybe to make sure that I don't run away. His skin is warm and the way his arms feel around me makes me feel safe and complete. I turned over in his arms to face him and watched him stir, "why aren't you sleeping?" He asked, "how can I sleep when my whole life has been turned on it's head?" He smiled and rubbed his face against the pillow before opening his eyes fully, "you should sleep better knowing that everything worked out." But did it? I didn't want my negativity to ruin a beautiful moment, especially when he didn't feel the same anxiety as me. "Did you mean it when you said we will be leaving the pack?" I asked, he nodded, "yes, there isn't a point in staying here and Raze having just disappeared... just doesn't feel safe." "Where would we go?" I asked, he looked at me with this childish look in his eyes, "we can live off the land, we can go anywhere. Where would you like to go?" He asked and I felt myself freeze, I had never thought about it. Each time that I planned on escaping, not once did I think about where I would go to. "I never gave it much thought," I said, he propped his head up on his arm as he looked at me perplexed, "but you tried to escape?" He asked, confused. I sighed, "I did but I haven't ever left this territory, I've barely seen all of this territory to begin with, I guess, I just thought I would make it out first..." My words had put a deep silence in between us and I hated the vulnerability that I was now feeling. He leaned over and kissed my forehead. "We can see everywhere if you want." His words made my heart skip a beat and I felt a blush creep across my cheeks. I rolled out of bed, my body shivering with excitement and anticipation. I walked towards the window and looked out, "I want to go now."
"Go where?" He asked as he walked over to me, he was shirtless but had his sweat pants on. I was wearing his shirt. He wrapped his arms around my waist and we both looked out at the dark trees. "Take me to the pretty places that you have seen in the pack." I said as I turned around and drew circles on his chest, he smiled at me, "do you want to go right now?" He asked, I nodded my head and he smiled. "You're going to need some pants first," that caused a giggle to escape my lips and he pulled me in and kissed me deeply.
"Ethan," I said as I looked up at him with sparkling eyes, "I'm really happy that you're my mate." He smiled at me and kissed me all over my face, "I'm really happy that you're mine." I breathed out a sigh of relief and happiness. Maybe I was lucky after all. Thank you Moon Goddess!
Ethan grabbed a sweat shirt and pulled it on over his head, I walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out an adjustable sweat pants and pulled it on, pulling the strings to tighten it as I did. He then took out a jacket for me, "you need to wear this, it will be cold." He handed me the jacket and took out a bag and packed another sweat pants and shirt. "Why are you packing extra clothes?" I asked and he grinned at me like a moron, "you're going to ride me again," I rolled my eyes at his immaturity but couldn't help that the corners of my lips had also broken into a smile. I shoved him playfully and he chuckled, "after, lets go get breakfast at the diner." He smiled at me, "I haven't been there," I said and he grabbed my hand and spun me into him, "take my word for it, you will absolutely love it but lets go!" He then pulled me along with him, shutting his door behind us.
The sun had not come up yet. I'm not sure it would come up anytime soon but I felt warm inside just thinking about the two of us watching the sunrise together. We walked down the empty corridors of the sleeping pack house and my heart was racing with giddiness. We giggled and ran like two teenagers like we were just... normal.
