Toast of celebration

Ethan POV: After a well spent morning with my beautiful mate, I had to leave her to go and see my parents. My mind remained the same, Selena and I would be leaving this pack to look for somewhere better to start our lives. I walked down the long corridor to my parent's office quarters, "Ethan!" Called out Isaac, I turned around, surprised to see him, I hadn't seen Isaac since the whole breakfast thing. It was safe to say that he was keeping a low profile, so why make his presence known now? "Isaac," I greeted as I straightened my posture, "how are you?" He asked and I c****d an eye brow, doubting his intention behind the question, "I'm fine thanks. What do you want?" I asked abruptly, he looked taken aback but took a deep breath before responding, "I am sorry about Alice and my part in the betrayal." I scrunched up my eye brows trying to figure out why this was relevant, "there's no need to apologize, if anything you did me a favor." I gave him a smile and turned to leave but he grabbed my arm, stopping me. "I want us to be friends again," he said and I clenched my jaw, "no." I pulled my arm back and straightened my jacket, "we can never be friends again." He looked genuinely hurt by my statement, "I understand why you feel that way," he said as he seemed to choke back a breath, "thank you for understanding." "Ethan," he said again and I turned once more to look at him and hear him out, "if you ever need a friend, I will be here. Alice and I are done for good." I turned back around and continued on my way. Outside my parent's office, I could hear heated voices. I tuned into listen, pausing a few feet away... "August! Listen to me for once-" It was my mother, "I always listen Anna!" Shouted my father, "we could lose our son August if you don't accept this relationship!" It sounded like my mother was on my side but then again, she always was on my side. My heart warmed at her words. "Raze will not let this go Anna," my father sounded defeated, "we will come up with a plan, we can fix this. All of this." She sounded so reassuring. I started to move closer to the door and gave it a knock. Both of them quietened down as I walked in, "son," greeted my mother, putting on a smile and walking over to me, "how has your morning been?" She asked as she embraced me, "it has been quite pleasant, I took Selena for breakfast and we explored the territory," her smile was plastered on her face like a bad paint job, "I am glad, we wanted to talk to you about the Alpha position," she sat down and patted the seat next to her. I took a seat and waited as my father cleared his throat, "Ethan, your mother and I have given this a lot of thought and we would like to accept Selena as Luna of this pack and hand the title to you on her birthday in three days," my father was sitting in his leather chair behind his desk and his face was one of complete seriousness. I was shocked to hear him say those words. "Are you being serious?" I asked as I looked to both of them, waiting for them to laugh and lecture me. "Yes," said my mother as she shifted in her seat and cast a strange look to my father, "and what about Raze? And the deal?" I asked remembering their pact with the demon. My mother brushed my face and straightened my collar, "there is no need for you to trouble yourself with that my sweet boy," she smiled at me and gave me a quick peck on my cheek. "Your father and I will sort it out, it is our pact, not yours and you and Selena should not have to deal with it." I couldn't believe my ears, "I believe a toast of celebration is in order," came my father's voice as he pulled out a bottle of champagne, my mother clapped her hands together, "we can do the unification ceremony the day after her birthday, I think her eighteenth should be spent with you and her but we will be throwing a grand party!" Exclaimed my mother, her eyes were sparkling with happiness. My father handed us each a glass of bubbling champagne and raised his own glass, "to my son!" He smiled broadly, "who will now become a man!" "And his beautiful bride!" Exclaimed my mother excitedly, "long life and happiness to you both!" I raised my glass, my cheeks burning with happiness and took a sip with my parents. Everything was working out and falling into place and I couldn't wait to share the good news with Selena.
